As the result of an accident in which I was badly injured, I recently spent a month in Life Care of…read moreBountiful. I was completely delighted with the care I received and with the overall experience. Everybody was so competent and caring. I felt very much that every person with whom I worked truly cared about me. Having daily PT and a nice, clean room in which to rest and in which the staff brought food to me was just uplifting. The staff was quite friendly with the patients. I definitely needed to be in a facility during this time and was so, so happy that I chose Life Care. The staff attended to my needs in a very dedicated fashion. The facility was clean and quiet; my room had a pastoral view. I learned a whole new respect for CNAs. These people worked so hard to take care of everyone. Life care provided great transportation to and from my medical appointments. This is an EXCELLENT service. The way the staff went to bat for me against my insurance company was absolutely moving. THEY REALLY CARED. Despite the pain, I enjoyed my PT very much. I had some really great moments in the facility, which will stick with me for life. By the time I left, the departure felt like leaving a family. I will definitely stay at Life Care again if I find myself in need of skilled nursing in the future. I owe such a debt of gratitude to these kind people that the only way I can think to repay it is to volunteer at the facility. I intend to start as soon as I am healed and to continue for as long as I can. If you ever need short term or long term skilled nursing, please do yourself a favor and stay at Life Care of Bountiful.

Our experience so far has not been long, but it has been frustrating. There really needs to be a…read moreway for family to get daily info on their loved one that doesn't involve tracking down a nurse and taking up more of their already sparse time with either in person or phone update. We live in a world that has so many options digitally, why isn't there a program/app that family members could check to see how their loved one is each day? It seems so simple and would take seconds to update, rather than the much longer it takes a nurse to chase down info and answer question after question from multiple family members. They could easily log-daily nutrition intake/medications/activity (therapy, etc)/test results/concerns/any other important info. Also, no one seems to consistently know anything about patients. It's always- we'll have to check/look into that- with no follow up or answers. How does the patients nurse not know if they've eaten/had ordered tests/results/etc? This should be easily available. The lack of basic patient knowledge/follow up doesn't show much personal interaction/knowledge/relationship with the patients, which is concerning when it involves a loved one that is already struggling. I realize nursing staff is often stretched to their limits, but making some simple changes like mentioned above, could help them and the families. It is also concerning when paging a nurse for over 30 min, and no one showing up, to go out and see 3 of them sitting at the nurses station on their phones. For the most part, we've had good experiences with the staff, with the exception of the nurse Nancy. She couldn't be bothered and acted annoyed when asked basic questions. After trying to put medication in the left hand of a patient who's left side was effected by a stroke, she became annoyed and rough when the patient couldn't hold them. We explained to her multiple times that she needed to put it in her right hand, and got no response besides an annoyed stare from Nancy. She didn't even acknowledge what we were trying to tell her. That was the response we got with every question or piece of information we tried to pass along. This woman should NOT be a nurse if that's how she's going to act. We were kind and respectful when talking to her, there was no need for her rudeness. It spoke volumes about how little she cares about her patients or their families. Had there not been a great CNA there also helping, I would not have felt comfortable leaving the facility without my loved one. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars, is for the great CNA's we've come in contact with. Nancy alone would have constituted zero stars. And the lack of organization and accessibility to info, I would only give 1 star.
