My mother and I stopped in for the night as we were to attend a wedding the next day. They greeted us when we arrived, showed us around and left us to our night. In the morning breakfast was cooked to order and when I say it was perfect, oh my! And I am the breakfast police lol! The place was very clean, quiet, well maintained and just decorated so very well!!! The couple that owned the place were perfect, nice, more than accommodating, sweet, warm and most of all competent-- they weren't overbearing. It was my first B&B stay, so I had my reservations of course but the BAR IS SET!!! If I'm ever in Palestine again, this is where you'll be able to find me & I really wish my family had just booked the entire B&B, that would have been SO spectacular!! That said, the baseboards could use more thorough cleaning, and the sofas are showing noticeable wear and could benefit from an update. What really sets this hotel apart is the staff--they are consistently friendly, courteous, and very helpful. However, during my most recent stay, I did notice an unusual number of flies in the common areas and even had one in my room. I'm not sure if this is a temporary issue affecting the Jewett area or specific to the hotel, but it would be helpful if management could look into it and consider placing fly traps to combat the issue.

There's a way to say no and then there's hire the desk clerk handled us and the 10 other families that came in behind us. The staff leaves something to be desired. The room was clean and air conditioning worked great. The locks on the doors are a crap shoot if they will work , had to get new keys twice. While the room was clean, there's a horrible musty/moldy smell in the hallway.
