Listen, if you're the kind of person who uses a drive thru for donuts then you should scroll on past. The donuts are outstanding and the cans of Diet Dr Pepper are ice cold but I'm here to tell you about the chocolate twists. Any mathematician will tell you that a twist is gonna give you the most surface area for your chocolate. (Similarly, an Old Fashioned will do the same if you're geared for a donut with a hole.) The donut engineers at THIS Daylight work hard to make sure every crevasse is packed with chocolate. I actually bring them home and eat them off a plate to make sure nothing drops in my lap. On the subject of eating donuts while driving I'll offer this advice. Crumbs are gonna fall on your shirt and the novice will repeatedly swipe at their clothes to remove the crumbs. The best way to get rid of the crumbs AND avoid any unsightly smears on your shirt is to wait until you exit your vehicle and give your shirt a single, aggressive pop sending the crumbs to the ground. Visited location at 9 AM on a Sunday - no doubt that the donuts will be good be seeing the drive thru full and the parking lot filled with cars. This was my first visit as we have just moved to Edmond, but if the locals are crowding in, that is a good sign. Clean, bust but very friendly, pleasant store inside and the cases were full of delicious looking donuts. There were no over the top of pretentious looking donuts, just standard wide variety of common donuts which was exactly what I was looking for, The donuts were fresh and tasted excellent - will certainly be back but will also be exploring other donut shops in the area as some of the other reviews are good as well. read more

I've been here twice but never again. Since Covid is raging in OK, I wear a mask and expect businesses to follow the mask mandate as well. I was thoroughly disgusted and appalled that the person working the drive through was not wearing ANY sort of mask. There are way to many donut shops to put yourself at risk at this location on 2nd, near I-35. I'd give them zero stars if it were possible. read more

Great donuts. Terrible service! Rude! Rude! Rude! The last three times I have been to daylight donuts there's been an incident. That's it. No more. This morning the lady at the window didn't get our order correct which is not a big deal. I told her that we were short a kolache and she told me that I didn't tell her the right number. I didn't want to argue so I just asked her to get another one. Really? I did tell her what I needed and she made a mistake. Not a big deal but why does she want to argue with me about it. I was not rude or hateful when I asked. She didn't need to be rude about getting another. Then I realized we were also short a glazed Long John. I asked her for one and she brought me a twist. When I pointed out that it was a twist and not a long John she decided that she was going to lecture me about how they're the same thing. She was very rude about it and her tone was completely condescending. Twists are different from long johns in flavor. But I didn't argue back. Then they didn't give me a receipt. I believe this is the first complaint I've ever made about any company online. I am not prone to complaining about businesses and try to give people the benefit of the doubt but after three incidents like this I'm done! read more

When I lived in Edmond, we always used to get donuts from here when there was a special occasion at work and I always enjoyed those special occasions. The donuts are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo amazing. They're like yeasty and soft and just scrumptious. Oh and might I add super cheap. Super super cheap. The times that I actually drove over there myself, I think it's great that they have a drive thru!!!!! The staff is amazing as well and really showcase Oklahoma hospitality. Dare I say... BEST DONUTS I have ever had! This place is ridiculously good. Coming from the North East, we don't have alot of "mom and pop" donut shops left. There's a Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts on every corner though, and they can't compare to this place. Pros: The glazed donuts are hands down, best I've ever had. I don't eat donuts often, but if I lived next to this place, I would eat them every day. They also have a sign that says their donuts are prepared in a healthy manner that is less fat and is cholestoral free. They sure don't taste like they're that 'healthy', and by that, I mean they're awesomely good. The staff is super friendly and it has a real 'small town' feel inside the place, like everyone knows your name. It's the "Cheers" of donut shops! there's a drive thru too! Cons: It's far from my home! The place could use some updating, as the paint is banged up and the boots are a little askew. The coffee setup isn't great either, as there's a tiny shelf and no cream out, you have to ask for it. Overall: Go here! Get the best donuts I've ever had! I've been here many times and I'm not sure what the major malfunction is but I'll share today's antidote with consumers. I went to order donuts and kolaches. So far, so good. Paid for it and after the transaction completed, was told they didn't have any of the donuts I paid for. I asked for my money back because if I wanted something different, I would've asked for it and they didn't tell me they were out before I paid for it. Long story short, did not get my money back nor an apology so they were "gifted" funds for not providing a service. I would think carefully before you waste your money and time here. read more

One of their employees told me they thought it was rude that my 4 & 2 year old boys were standing on one of their bench seats while eating inside. It wasn't the whole time we were there just for a moment or two while eating. Then I overheard her go tell another coworker all about it. When I approached her as we were leaving to just say you have no idea what kind of weekend we are having and to just be gracious to the next mother she sees like me in this situation she was still incredibly rude and literally said "Well I think it's rude they were standing on the seat." I don't get it - you're a donut shop with lots of kids that come. I witnessed other kids there doing the same thing while in line. I understand you think it's rude but I think its even ruder to not be gracious the second time I approached you or to let a mother have a second to handle her kids the way she sees appropriate for a situation. Or to be offended by them standing instead of concerned for their safety. Incredibly sad because they have the best donuts in the area but one incredibly rude employee. read more

Donuts are good and location is convenient. Customer service is poor. Paid approx $30 for donut order and left, but they didn't mention that they they shorted my order that I had paid for. Parking was easy. Workers were sweet and helpful. The shop was very clean. Everything highly recommended except the donuts. (Can't say anything about the coffee bc I don't drink it). I came with my two toddlers and picked out four donuts and a dozen donut holes for us to share in shop on my birthday. Everything was dry and overly sweet. Only one donut was semi moist, but still not good by good donut standards. My toddlers, which should technically love overly sweet per their usual behavior, tried a bite of the donuts but increasingly tried less and less, then started using the donut holes and pieces of the other donuts I gave them to try as projectiles, so I picked up and left before they made a mess. Usually my three year old crams bread and sweets into his mouth as quick as possible, so he can eat more than his younger sibling, lol. Not here. The atmosphere in this place was great. The workers behind the counter were super happy to be there and smiling and laughing. The service was 100% amazing. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars was because the donuts weren't anything to write home about. They just weren't that good (in my opinion) and I've been to a few donut places around the Edmond area that have better flavor and texture and are more savory and also offer more flavor options. If you're looking for a quick fix this place is convenient, I believe they even have a drive through. Good coffee! read more

This place has a new location that isn't reflected on the Yelp map. They are now at: 3701 E 2nd St, Edmond, OK 73034. The donut quality is really solid. They make an amazing ham/cheese kolache. They are well staffed and therefore consistently have quick service. They have a drive thru that is also pretty quick. Their new location has plenty of tables for staying there to eat donuts with your family. The prices are very reasonable. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is that they don't have very many high end speciality donuts, although make no mistake, they have a large selection and keep it well stocked. Although service is quick, don't expect too many smiles, they are very solemn and serious. Overall, you will never regret stopping here for donuts, very consistently delicious. read more

We've been customers of this particular Daylight Donuts franchise since the 80's when it was operated by Rudd family. With the exception of one fairly short term ownership group the quality of product has always been excellent and basically what my family consider the gold standard of the donuts world. The staff is courteous and efficient. It can be busy at certain times, ie...Saturday ..,but that comes with the territory. Good place !! read more

The incompetence of the workers here are hands down the worst I have ever seen! My son wanted donuts for his birthday so I made my order TWO DAYS before The party. I thought about going to Hurts donunts down town but I thought it would be too far and more money. So I go in to pick up my order the day of the party and the lady I speak to at the front didn't know anything about my order nor did anyone else except the girl that took my order. The girl who originally took my order finds the order slip tacked to the wall and says "oh here it is". Long story short, they ran out of donuts and could not fulfill my order that was prepaid TWO days in advance. "Sorry, there's another donut store 2 miles down the road." This was the only compensation I received as they scratched their heads and looked at each other. Two hours before the birthday party I was forced to go to Hurts donuts where I received exceptional service! Their donuts are fresh, selection is creative and the difference in price is minimal. I gave daylight donuts 1 star and that was only because I'm pretty positive they can make donuts. read more
