We are working parents but were too often left without consistent and quality childcare coverage due to low staffing. Facility issues were also a problem during excessively hot days where the provider canceled daycare without any advanced notice due to insufficent air-conditioning. Also worth noting, no one is speaking/teaching French at this daycare despite the advertisement as an immersion school. No merci!!

There is so much to love about Daily Discoveries! The owner, Angela, is amazing with kiddos of all ages, and my daughter had the experience to not only play with babies and infants younger than her, but also with kiddos who attended school during the day and did before and after care there. This allowed her to learn in a very versatile environment. We loved all of the time spent with animals, including the reptiles in the indoor aquarium, her well behaved, very sweet doggies, adorable kitty, ducks, bunnies, and more. One of the most magical experiences was when my daughter watched eggs hatch and got to meet the baby ducklings and watch them grow. This was such a unique experience that is just one example of something she may not have been exposed to in another preschool setting. The layout of the indoor space is wonderful, with a huge portion of the home devoted entirely to the daycare. There is toddler level access to so many different play options, including puzzles, educational games, building activities, arts and crafts, and more. My daughter was always making fun creations and doing hands-on activities throughout the day to keep her mind growing. The incredible kitchen allowed Angela to prepare healthy meals and snacks daily, all of which were included in the tuition price and met the USDA food program guidelines. She was even able to accommodate dietary restrictions for kiddos needing them. The outdoor space is so awesome, with an impressive array of activities to let kids get their hands dirty and really enjoy nature - whether it was observing the animals, helping to grow a garden, playing in the water table, watching the bugs in the insect habitat, and more. I loved how much outdoor nature time my daughter experienced here. I could go on and on about the amazing experience we had at Daily Discoveries. The hours were flexible and perfect for our schedules, and the assistant teachers, including Brittany and Julian, were awesome! We had most of our time there with Julian, who was not only awesome with kiddos of all ages, but also so great with my daughter. I just adored her, and she always had a friendly smile on her face. Angela and her assistant teacher always made a great team. We also loved the family nights to get to know not only Angela and Julian even better, but also the parents of the other kiddos. I have to note that Angela and Julian also played a vital role in helping to potty train my daughter, who loved the toddler sized potty. It was so helpful to know that I could trust they would be on my team when it came to potty training! The service requested is exceptional because of the Nannys; however, the value is laughable…read more Portland Nanny just made the decision to increase the cost of Nannys for families to somewhere around $38/hr I believe whereas the Nannys are being paid a flat fee of around $20. Nannys used to get an additional $1/hr for additional children. Now it will be a flat rate regardless of the number of children. Anyone who has ever babysat children before knows this is wrong and I encourage you to pay Nannys what they are actually worth instead of exploiting them for profit.

I've had two kids attend and after reviewing some other options in the area, have been so glad to have them come to Great Starts. We really like Ms. Lisa, the pre-K teacher, who has done such a wonderful job helping our first child become super prepared for kindergarten. Our youngest is also learning the fundamentals that most kindergartens learn about. Theresa and the rest of the staff really go above and beyond, whether it's putting on Christmas programs, inviting parents to attend lunches around other holidays, and more. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a daycare for their young child or a place for their child to prepare for kindergarten.

I am extremely disappointed and disturbed by my experience with First Septic Services. This was,…read morewithout question, the worst experience I have ever had with a septic service company. I called and scheduled a septic pumping and county-required inspection. I was quoted $560 for both services to be performed at the same time. When they arrived, I was suddenly told that because I operate a business on the property--and supposedly had failed to disclose that--they could not pump my tank without additional authorization or a permit. I was also told that, depending on the pH of the tank, I could potentially be charged approximately three times the normal pumping price for hazardous-material disposal. As far as I could tell, they had not even tested the pH of my tank on site before discussing this potential charge. I told them that was outside my price range, thanked them for their time, and said I would not be having the work done that day. I was then told I owed a $435 service-call fee simply because they had come to my property--even though the $560 service I scheduled was not being performed. The representative then told me that if I instead paid $170 for an inspection, they would waive the $435 charge. At that point, I felt like I was being pressured to pay them something regardless of whether they performed the service I had actually scheduled. I have had this same septic tank pumped many times and have never previously been told that operating a business on the property could result in my septic contents being treated as hazardous waste or subject me to this type of additional disposal charge. Most importantly, when I scheduled this appointment, nobody asked me whether I operated a business on the property. The situation then became much more disturbing. I told the representative I needed to make a phone call and attempted to leave the backyard. He physically positioned himself in a way that blocked my path. I found his demeanor menacing and intimidating, and I was extremely uncomfortable being put in that position on my own property. Once I got past him, I called the office hoping to resolve the situation. Instead, I was chastised and accused of lying because I had not disclosed that I operate a business. I did not lie. I was never asked. If that information is essential to whether they can legally perform the service, it should be requested before they quote a price, schedule the appointment, and dispatch a truck--not used afterward to accuse a customer of dishonesty. As a woman dealing with these representatives at my home, I felt talked down to, antagonized, intimidated, and taken advantage of. I cannot know their motivation, but I can describe the effect their conduct had on me: the encounter became so upsetting that I had a full-blown panic attack and called my neighbor to come over because I did not feel comfortable dealing with the situation alone and wanted them off my property. I have dealt with septic companies and had this tank pumped numerous times. I have never experienced anything remotely like this. Based on my experience, I would not use First Septic Services again and would not recommend them. Buyer beware: Get the quoted price, service-call fees, property-use restrictions, permitting requirements, hazardous-waste criteria, and potential additional charges in writing before they dispatch a truck.
