It is big and bright and stuffed with cool stuff like pasta makers and gimmiky stuff like soda can carousels ... A lot of tat but a lot of cool kitchen gadgets as well. It's perfect and will replace the rubbish one we've been putting up with for the last six years. My husband remarked how Homebase was much much better value than Woodies for some storage drawers he needed for work recently. 15 EUR v 40 EUR. Mad difference. We wandered around all the departments and we picked up a few more bits that have been on my long term shopping list. I picked up a lovely small cactus for 2.60 EUR. It's fairly impressive and large. It seems to cover all the bases for your home and garden. And they've boxes. So many wonderful boxes.

As I strolled my way over to the wall of TV screens, I was stopped and asked if I wanted help, so I said 'yes please... I'd like a TV'... look at me being all grown up and buying a new tv instead of getting second hand ones! I'd wanted a 23inch but it seemed so puny against the wall of giant screens... I had a vulnerable moment and asked about bigger sizes (even though rationally I knew they wouldn't fit in the space in my apartment). Thankfully the sales guy didn't pounce of my wide-eyed moment brought on by too much shininess and just sold me what I asked for, but including a four year warantee in the price... look at me all grown up with a warantee! There is precisely no chance that I won't lose that piece of paper! The TV is now at home and being all shiny and vibrant... I may be experiencing sensory overload as a result!

This is a review specifically concentrating on the Habitat tiling range in Homebase…read more I went into Homebase to purchase tiles from their Habitat range. It says on the stand that they take 14 days to deliver. Grand, I knew it was going to be a push for my builders, but I thought, these will be worth it. Firstly, they don't have any samples to look at of the tiles, except the ones that are fixed to the stand, so you have to use your imagination to see what goes with what. They also don't have them in any brochure, and it seems that most of the staff there have no idea about the range. When I finally found someone who could help me (who did try her best to be fair), she told me that there was "no point" in me buying these tiles from the store, because they could sometimes take two months for delivery. She advised me to buy the products from the website as then they would arrive within a week. So off I went to do that. Fine, until I realised that they don't deliver to Republic of Ireland. Great. Luckily enough I had discovered Parcel Motel (an 'in-between' company who have a Newry address who will receive your package, then forward onto you for a nominal fee). I went to order the tiles, then realised that actually most of the ones displayed in the store were in fact unavailable on the website. I was so sick of it all at this stage that I just changed the colour scheme and went ahead to order whatever was available. I got confirmation that the goods would arrive within 14 days. That was five weeks ago now and there's no sign. I have called Homebase several times since and had various answers from them, most recently that the tiles are actually out of stock. They have no idea when they will be back in stock, as they buy them in from Habitat. They never thought in all this time that perhaps if they were out of stock, that they should ring me, the customer, to let me know. They never thought that the hold up on these tiles is actually holding up an entire building project. I'm now waiting for their manufacturer to call me to let me know what's happening with them. I've been advised that if I don't hear from them, I should call Homebase back in 48 hours. I presume that will result in me waiting on hold for another half an hour, busily paying the phone bill for such a call. Absolutely terrible service, I would never buy anything like this from them again.

The place is packed with everything you might need from floor to ceiling (litteraly). People queue for advice and chat while they wait. They didn't have what we needed but they tried very hard to help us out. You feel like you are back in time and it makes you it was probably better back then. Also probably the only place where you can find Vhs tapes and Pound to Euro converter might you need one.

I was in the market for a Weber BBQ. If you dont know what these are they are a pretty spendy investment into outdoor gas cooking but are without doubt top quality. They will outlast any other BBQ on the market and have a 25Y guarantee to back it up... Anyway this place at Goatstown Cross not only does BBQs but all kinds of Garden furniture, planters, parasols, gas heaters, electric heaters, fire pits etc.. Lots of cool stuff for the garden. John who owns the place was very knowledgeable about the whole BBQ scene steered me in a new happier direction of BB type and I am not disappointed. For anyone considering buying a Weber you wont find better value in the City. I drove from the last dealer in Clondalkin and saved myself over 80 quid by going to Outdoor Scene!! It seems all the garden centres which sell Weber will not discount until after the end of the season when people dont want to cook outside any more. Ill be back again to buy more stuff for the Barbie.
