My Name is William Greene. My home warranty service assigned Day & Night AC & Heating to repair my 4 ton Rheem AC unit. The compressor was tripping the breaker. The Techs, Chris and Fritz, arrived on time. They performed troubleshooting and validated my compressor was bad and needed replacement. It was covered since it was less than 10 years old. They let me know they would have to see if they could get the compressor and if so They would replace it on Monday. Today was Friday and it was around noon. Then the bad news. The freon wasn't covered and it would cost over $1000 to replace it. The contract states the warranty company would pay up to $10 per pound. The replacement price was still over $1000. I researched and found my unit should cost at the most from $600 to $800 to get the freon replaced. I found at least one repair service that would capture my freon and reuse it. Unfortunately they were not affiliated with my warranty company. I own a paint and body shop and we service auto AC systems. If we have to break into theAC system we evacuate the freon and reinstall it after a negative pressure check. The Techs from Day & Night said they don't do that. They capture the old freon and take it somewhere that refurbishes it. It's contaminated and it gets mixed with contaminated freon from other units. OK! They left telling me they would let me know if they had a compressor. I called the warranty company and they said they had not received a report from Day & Night AC & Heating and that I should not pay anything before hearing from them. Later the Techs called and said they had the compressor and could do the repair today but I would have to pay the $1000 for the freon. I called back to the warranty company and still they had not received the report. This I told the techs. I waited and waited, heard nothing from the warranty company of Day & Night techs. Called the warranty company inquiring had they got the report? Their answer: Day & Night is refusing to service my address. They have assigned my request to a different company. I reached out to Day & Night to see if I could chat with the owner before writing this review. No response. read more

We were very disappointed in their service. They came to our house to repair our AC unit and then spent 4 days waiting to place an order for a part. Upon switching companies the part was immediately received and progress was made. If they were unable to repair our unit we would have preferred them to have stated that so we didn't waste a week waiting for them to do nothing. Very unprofessional. read more

It doesn't work, I try to tell them it's not working right, they don't respond? Had another company come out, they confirmed it was never fixed? And even tho I have a 30 contract? After hiring to install "turn key" ductless split system (subcontractor was hired) half of the drain line was installed then I'm told they are not plumbers and I had to hire out rest. Lesson learned. Our central a/c had been not approaching the temperature the newly installed thermostat (from LMH, not recommended) for months but I had been blaming it on constantly letting pets in and out. Then it got much worse. I called and before they showed up it was no longer blowing cool air. The technician first found it had flipped a breaker but continued and found it flipped the breaker because of a bad condenser. The a/c unit was 11 years old. They would have to install that the next day but meanwhile it was running temporarily. That night with an official outside "feels like temperature" of 100 at midnight it flipped again and stopped. Two men came out and installed a whole new outside condenser unit. I would give a higher rating but they were hours late the next day from their appointment time and the quoted price of $3300 somehow became $3350. The new unit quickly cooled to the set thermostat temperature and stayed there, was highest rated for efficiency, and has a ten-year parts warranty. read more

Had this AC repair company assigned to me by our warranty company. They came out and evaluated the AC system. the problem was the AC was not cooling. Their repair tech told us we needed a new compressor and their would be an added cost for Freon over what the home warranty company covers. I checked the warranty contract and it does only cover a portion of the Freon cost. Total added cost at this point would be $440.00 . It July in Houston, and I like having AC. So we tell them Okay proceed with the repair. They have to order the compressor. so 7 days later they email and say they have the compressor. BUT the cost has some how changed now. It is now going to cost $790.00, because we need a disconnect box. So I call the Home Warranty company, they tell me the disconnect box is covered. So at this point I am feeling like they are trying to scam me. But I talk with Day and Night AC tech, He tells me it is just a communication issues they had with the warranty company. So the price goes back down to $440 and we schedule the repair. The day of the scheduled repair I get a Text asking how I will be paying for the repair. I tell them by check. They then inform me that the price has changed again. Remember I have been with out AC for two weeks now. The new price is $540.00. Now I know it is a scam. But for and extra $100.00 over the agreed price I can have AC again. I just couldn't give in to the scam. I called the home warranty company and had them send out another AC repair company to get a second opinion on the repair. It was was five days before the second ac company could get us scheduled. Now three weeks with no AC. The repair man form the second ac company gets there and checks the system. He changes out the capacitor on the unit. which is covered under the warranty. I ask him about the compressor, Freon, and the disconnect box. He says no need for a Compressor. He checked the Freon levels and it was good. As for the disconnect box it is good and working properly. No added cost the whole repair was covered by the warranty. If the warranty company assigns Day and Night to your repair. Call the warranty company and have them change the contractor. It will take you at least three phone calls to get this done. But you want be with out AC for three weeks and have to pay extortion fees. I have to give credit where it is due. Day and Night are very good at running a scam they almost got me. Don't let them get you. read more

Just when you need professional help, Day and Night came through! On a Aug Sat afternoon, my air conditioning began to steadily fail and that is time to panic. I called this service and they sent Jonathan to my house within an hour. He had the part and my problem fixed within any hour! Great. What is especially awful for me, is that I had my air conditioning serviced by John Moore on June 26, and they charged me $449.08 for doing nothing!! I had been dealing with really warm temperatures (83-86) inside my home for 10+ days. My landlord had two different companies come out, and two more who stood me up. Needless to say, I was beyond upset, and just wanted my AC fixed. My landlord left it up to me to find a company. Naturally, I went straight to Yelp! I called Day and Night at 7:57 on Friday night. Kim answered my call from the movie theater. I suggested they wait until Saturday morning, but she was happy to get someone out that same night. I really didn't expect much. But guess who showed up at 10:30!? Chris diagnoses the problem in no time. The problem couldn't be fixed immediately, but they were back out Saturday morning. They replaced the unit for less than it would've cost to fix. He came out a few hours later to make sure the temp was dropping properly. I've never been so happy with an AC company. These guys really know their stuff, and they care! They will be my go to guys from now on. Couldn't be more happy, as I type this, with a thermostat reading 72 degrees. read more

He even went above and beyond to fight for a warranty replacement on parts (we didn't get warranty coverage but he made the effort). Day & Night is prompt, professional, and reasonably priced. Recently, the heater at my grandmother's house stopped working and the temps were plunging, and we needed help fast. These guys came out right away, and within 30 mins they had gotten the heater running. They also educated me on maintenance that might prevent the same problem in the future. Our AC wasn't cooling. Called Day & Night after looking up reviews. They sent a technician right out and he had our AC up and running within two hours of my placing the call. The Bill was a little higher than expected due to a miscommunication on both our parts. And could have been prevented if I was more proactive when the technician was here. I contacted owner the very next day. He was very reasonable and quickly resolved the issue. Day and Night Air Conditioning have heart. A lot of heart. As we have old units, we've needed their help a lot in the last two years and they've worked super hard to accommodate us and get our air cooling again. This includes: calling at 8pm and having them here by 9pm; having them fit us in early morning before their previously scheduled jobs, etc. When you call them, you normally get a real person who listens, coordinates, and genuinely has compassion. And with the experience of their senior technicians, I feel like they can handle any kind of commercial or special situation (such as having a disused heat pump, etc.) Overall, I'm so glad I found them. I would genuinely have no problems giving them the keys to my house if I needed service while out of town. I think that says a lot. read more

Worst experience ever! Installed the wrong compressor, refused to take responsibility and took 3 weeks fighting with this company and warranty. My a/c ran constantly trying to cool and my bill was over $400. Finally had another company do the job correctly and my a/c bills have dropped drastically. I don't write many reviews, but when I have an exceptional experience with a company I almost feel compelled to do so. Our AC was running warm for several days and we were pretty miserable. We had another company come out and do an inspection. He first checked the freon level and said it looked ok, then looked at the furnace and said he suspected the coil was dirty and it would be $800 to clean it, and promptly tried to sell me a 13 seer system for more than 14 seer systems cost. I called Day and Night the next day and scheduled an inspection. The technician came out and the first thing he asked was if the freon level had been checked. I told him it had and that the previous company said it was ok. He stopped and went back to his truck to get his gauges because he wanted to make sure the other guy had done it correctly. Low and behold, he showed me on the gauge that my system was a few lbs. low on freon and gave me a very good price for R-22 (some companies are gouging because it's being phased out). He charged it and within the time we were talking outside, my house had gone down 2 degrees and I could tell the difference immediately that the air was cooler. We talked at length about dishonest companies and how people are sometimes scammed and got the sense that this is a very trustworthy company. Again, I don't write many reviews, but after talking to the technician and having my AC back in working order, I felt like I had to. If you're looking for an HVAC company that you can trust, I would give Day & Night a Call. read more

We purchased a new (to us) home, and the seller included a home warranty plan. A few months later, the ac stopped blowing air. After contacting the warranty company (evening of day one) they said Day and Night would be the company coming out, I contacted Day & Night directly in the next morning (day two). The receptionist said they had my information but wasn't sure when they could make it out. I politely let her know that my husband and I both worked from home and that we had a toddler, so if they were able to come soon, that would be great. She said she would call back and let me know when we were scheduled. She did in a few hours-- the appointment was for the next day, (day3) afternoon. The serviceman was young, maybe 20, but did a good job trying to pinpoint the problem which was a defunct fan motor. He gave us advice for annual maintenance for the ac unit and lines. He double checked with the office that all the work he did would be covered by the warranty which I appreciated. No complaint with his work at all. Just wish they could have made it out sooner in the middle of 90+ degree weather. From what I could deduce, most of their work comes from contracting with the home warranty company. 3 stars for good work, but slow. If we need to use them again, and they do a good job but still slow, I might bump them up to 4 stars. read more
