This review is specifically for Gonzo Tennis Academy, hosted by Longmont Athletic Club. We've…read moretried out a few kids tennis lessons and coaches in different surrounding cities, but Gonzo Tennis Academy is the BEST. Why? Because for my 5 year old and 7 year old kids, they get bored easily and act up, but Coach Gonzo and his brother Coach Diego are FUN and get the kids hitting! My 5 and 7 year old kids have dramatically improved with their technique in the 1 session we've been here and they always wind up laughing so much during their lesson. They talk to the side line parents for quick 10 second tips and advice during the lesson. Everything is broken down for the kids and easy to understand. We've had "tough guy" coaching techniques before, and they just aren't appropriate for this young age...usually my kids get discouraged with that kind of coach attitude. I travel all the way from Broomfield to Longmont because it's totally worth it and very reasonable prices for (non-member) tennis lessons. Oh, and did I mention lessons are *inside* a tennis bubble? Our last tennis session at Broomfield Tennis and Swim club was outside and we often had to cancel lessons due to poor weather, and I just didn't have the time to make up the lessons on alternative days. That, and my kids just hated the Colorado cold and windy days. They mentally gave up on playing before the lesson. We can play all year long and my boys don't have a huge lull between seasons. It's really the best overall place for little kid tennis lessons! Just don't take my 2 spots from my boys, okay? ;D

I gotta say, good customer service and genuine friendliness at someone's place of work is not easy to find these days. There's a lot of bitter folks out there that should not be engaging members/customers as they give the business a bad name. Not this place, they were so friendly and while there are parts of the club that look a bit older this place is exactly what I would expect from a tennis club. It has a great tennis pro shop with a good amount of merchandise, the gym is a little above average and decently well equipped, especially for a tennis club. Many of the places I've belonged to that were more tennis oriented didn't have great gym facilities so it's nice that they have a good amount of equipment. Even being a member of 2 different country clubs, both very nice, neither of them had great gym facilities. The paddle ball courts are very nice and they have a few outdoor tennis courts that are well maintained along with 7, I believe, indoor courts with good lighting (important!). The men's locker room could definitely use some love as it's very old and outdated but it does have a hot tub in it that's decent sized and lockers and honestly it's about the same as any other tennis club I've been in. Can't wait to start plugging into the community of members and play some folks with equal skill level. I'm huge on how I am treated the moment I walk in the door (so incredibly important for businesses to give a good first impression), and so many places fail this test by either acting like you're bothering them by asking them to do their job or at least be somewhat kind and respectful to someone paying money to be a member at the place they work at, which is crazy to me I have to say this. I don't care how nice a place is if their staff is rude or they treat people differently based on how they look (in my case a lot of tattoos, which isn't a usual thing to see at country clubs and tennis clubs) then I'll not be joining. Point being, I was immediately won over by the lady at the desk who treated me as I would imagine she treats everyone that walks through those doors, with kindness and respect. It's weird that I even have to say this, but so many places just don't do well on this anymore. Overall, 5 stars for the staff doing a great job answering my questions and spending time to give me the low down on the club and definitely what I would expect, equipment and amenities wise, from a tennis club! Look forward to getting to know the folks here.

The bubble is set on a 20' wall, and the first part of the bubble is painted green to match the tarps, this way the ball won't get lost in the air when waiting to receive a serve. The HVAC system was designed to heat and cool the entire space evenly, so no one gets stuck on the dreaded "hot" or "cold" court. The six courts are painted blue/green with a full space between the side nets and the back drop. You'll never have to worry about losing a sharp angle into the netting here, and with their over-sized ceiling, have fun lobbing to your hearts content. I challenge you to hit the top! There is a lounge space overlooking all courts with a tv, fire place, and snack bar. The lobby is spacious and bright and equipped with multiple ping pong tables. This is the perfect facility to host your USTA league, college matches, or even a tournament. This facility does require a membership, but there are many monthly membership options to help you find the perfect one to fit your tennis goals. They offer USTA and league play, lessons to semi-private lessons, drill classes, and programs for juniors. Memberships range from strictly court time reservations or the fitness center use to the whole shebang. They have a beautiful fitness center with trained staff to guide you through a rigorous workout to amp up your strength for your down-the-line put away. The gym features TRX bands, a turf sprint strip, medicine balls, cardio and weight machines, climbing pegs, and more. With Randy's highly trained staff both on the court and in the gym, your tennis game will never look better!

Randy Ross purposely used the UTR platform and included everyone from our CO tennis community in order to target my boy and ruin his tennis reputation just because I posted my honest opinion about his other events in the past. This weak person as Randy Ross enjoys sending nasty messages using UTR platform and including the whole CO tennis community. He decided to target my boy by providing a false statement about my boy instead of talking to me directly face-to-face or sending me an email. For example, here is a portion of his email that he sent to everyone in CO: "It is sad his [my son's] reputation is already being tarnished. It is very hard to change that in the tennis community. ....it's going to be a long unpleasant career ahead". Hey Randy, if you read this message, I just wanted to let you know that it is not your job to talk about my son and send your false statements to a 3rd party using other tennis platforms. If I were you, I would take care of your business better - because it is going to be unpleasant to loose it one day. Randy Ross, please be a better person. If there are things which need to be discussed face-to-face or even via email, discuss them face-to-face or via email instead of using "no-reply" emails like UTR platform. Take care and God bless you! By the way, the UTR team and the lawyer are currently reviewing my case. Tip for parents: Be prepared to be banned from this club if you decide to leave the honest&negative review about this club.
