Once I took my first class at VYB, I was disappointed in myself for not finding this place sooner! VYB is THE PLACE for adult dance classes in Tampa. The instructors are Tiffany and Saida. They keep class so fun and welcoming for all skill levels. I was feeling like I had a hard time following they both told me it takes time and I did great by just continuing to stay moving. It is a workout but it's fun. The classes are filled with people of different ages. There have been a couple older ladies in there putting me to shame! I have now completed 3 classes and will continue going weekly because I get a get sweat session in during that hour. The class is held in like an annex building of a church. You can really tell the owner has a passion for dance and loves helping people become confident with themselves and teaching them how to move. They were learning a "So You Think You Can Dance" routine when I visited and everybody looked like they were having a blast. If I wasn't taking down quotes and snapping photos, I definitely would have wanted to get up and learn some dance routines as well. The owner is really involved in the community and regularly works with the blind and visually impaired to offer them dance lessons, in addition to teaching children through the Palm Harbor Public Library. One of the kids was there and showed off her dance moves in front of everyone, it was really cool. One family drove down all the way from the east coast for the week just to have their daughter learn some ballroom dancing. Last year this studio was featured on "So You Think You Can Dance" so I think that is a pretty awesome thing to happen for Tampa Bay and for the owner. If I lived in Palm Harbor, I would definitely check out some classes when I have some down time.

And the demonstrators, who are some of the older dancers at the studio, are also so amazing with the kids. They offer a wide variety of classes (tap, jazz, ballet, acro, etc) once the dancers are of the right age to start them, as well as having a killer competition team. This summer (2021) they offered camps in addition to summer classes. Both of my daughters participated in camp, and they loved sharing all the fun activities & dancing they did during the day. I recommend Dancemakers to all of my mom friends in the area when they're looking for a local studio. We look forward to our many years at this studio!
