I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Dawn Sandberg and recommend her highly. Late into my third pregnancy, the baby was positioned in a way that caused tremendous sciatic pain in my hips, back, and legs. I was in so much pain that I could barely walk some days, but was in near constant pain. I am in good shape, exercise, and have no mobility issues ordinarily, but the late-pregnancy pain during this pregnancy was debilitating. One Sunday morning, I awoke to pain so intense I could barely stand up. My doctor's office was closed for the weekend, so I visited Mary Birch triage where I was told the only solution was heavy pain relievers for the rest of my pregnancy--clearly, not a solution to the root problem. I did not want to take painkillers while pregnant if there were other alternatives that could, hopefully, eliminate the source of the pain. I could feel the baby's head digging into my hip and pelvis, but the doctors at Mary Birch were not helpful in any solutions that may have helped move or turn the baby. After my disappointing trip to Mary Birch, I found Dr. Dawn's info through Yelp. I had never seen a chiropractor before, but was desperate for any kind of relief. I called Dr. Dawn on a Sunday afternoon and set up an appointment for the following day. She actually even offered to see me the same day--but I was exhausted from the pain meds I was given at Mary Birch, so I decided to wait till the next day. The following morning, I waddled into her office looking like a geriatric frog--I could barely walk. She examined me and could with just by looking and feeling my belly how the baby was positioned and explained very clearly how the position of the baby was putting pressure on certain areas of my hip and back. She adjusted me on the table and stretched out my legs. She was very professional and I was extremely comfortable the entire time. I did feel a few little pops in my hips as she adjusted me--they were not unpleasant at all--in fact, it felt like all of the pressure and pain was being released in the same way you would let air out of a tire. I instantly felt better. I think I skipped out of her office. She mentioned that the baby might try to move a little bit based on the adjustment, but there was no guarantee--babies are unpredictable. Sure enough, within a few hours of my adjustment, the baby rolled around into a position that was significantly more comfortable for me. I visited Dr. Dawn for several more appointments through the remainder of my pregnancy for adjustments to help get things back in line. I cannot explain how much it helped and how much relief the adjustments provided. My insurance did not cover my visits to Dr Dawn, but she worked with me to come up with a self-pay price that was very reasonable and, to be honest, a steal of a deal considering the amount of relief she was providing. She was worth every penny. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Dawn for over eight years now. She initially treated me while I was pregnant and having sciatica pain. She fixed that in one visit! During my next pregnancy I scheduled to see her weekly during my third trimester and it made a world of difference in terms of mobility and staving pregnancy pains. She's treated everyone in my family of six, from the toddler all the way to the man of the house. Whom by the way was very cranky due to our mattress that needed to be replaced. Again, Dr. Dawn saved the day and fixed him right up. There is no one else I'd go to for chiropractic care :) read more

Dr. Dawn Sandberg is wonderful! First we saw her when I was pregnant; mainly because the baby was beech. The adjustments helped my back pain more than I had hoped. It was my 1st time with a REAL chiropractor. While we didn't succeed in turning my "stubborn" baby, I have found a great chiropractor. Today, I went in after going to Kaiser over the weekend, their idea of treatment is CRAZY narcotics that make you sick. She adjusted me so that I could walk again. She also adjusted both my babies! Now, everyone is going to sleep well. read more

Our paths crossed by way of my husband in a totally different arena. It was by chance that he was able to put together the pieces and brought home Dr. Dawn's card for me. I have had chiropractic care over the years and it is not something you take lightly when trying to find a new one. Dr. Dawn has a wonderful energy and I felt comfortable with her the first time that I met her (and that's a huge part of trusting the one who will be messing with your spine!) Caring and more concerned with your well being than trying to sucker you out of money. Regular appointments to emergency's, Dr. Dawn has gone above and beyond to keep me straight :-) Thank you for taking such great care of me physically and mentally! read more

I started seeing Dr. Dawn during the third trimester of my third pregnancy. I had been to a chiropractor in my twenties when I was a teaching pro at a tennis club, and had a very positive experience. My complaints going in were a lot of mid-back pain as well as some RLS. She aligned my pelvis and alleviated my back pain quite a bit. I also noticed an enormous (positive) difference in my energy level, which has been wonderful! I am still seeing her regularly and plan to continue after I deliver. Her office is pleasant, runs on time, and is very organized with respect to working with insurance and scheduling. My kids often accompany me to adjustments, and Dr. Dawn has plenty of toys to keep them occupied and is also very friendly and likable. Highly recommended! read more

I have been been getting adjusted every 2 weeks with Dr Dawn for about 4 years. I have many decades of living behind me and intend to have many to come. I love the context of Optimal Health and my adjustments with Dr. Dawn totally support that. Since I pay as a monthly package, if I ever need some extra attention, Dr. Dawn sees me right away. Highly, highly recommended. BTW: while she specializes in pregnancy, she is brilliant overall. You can trust her to be thorough and gentle. read more

0 friends 1 review Jeff S. El Cajon, CA 1/13/2013 Dr. Dawn Sandberg is is a true healer. I had been suffering from an unknown ailment for about 4 months, not knowing exactly what it was I had. A gym rat by nature, this is where I met Dr. Dawn (who is also a fantastic spin instructor). She saw me "Frankenstien" walking into class. Being smart, and true to her profession, she noticed my condition. I told her of my symptoms and pain I was experiencing. Unbeknownest to me she told me she was a chiropractic doctor and invited me to her office for a session. Trying everything on my own, and the suggestions of others, with no improvement, I said yes to her invite. At her office, X-rays were taken. some people might shiver at the thought of radiation in an x-ray, but a picture is truely worth a thousand words. I MAY have understood what she was explaining to me with the use of models and lamen terms, but just looking at my spine on x-ray, little words were necessary. My spine was as crooked as a polititians promise. She explained that it was an existing condition, and the pain was just now surfacing. An iceberg she said, "What's on the surface underlies what's below the surface." She promised me she could alleviate the pain, but it would take time. three short months later I cannot believe where I am now compared to where I was three monhts ago. From not being able to walk without stopping in pain, lying on the floor in search of relief,to being active, paddle boarding and pain free. All done without medication, surgery, or (worst of all) needles. I cannot thank the big guy upstairs enough to seeing fit that our life paths crossed. I cannot thank Dr. Dawn enough for all her healing prowess. Did I mention Dr. Dawn Sandberg is a true healer read more

As a childbirth educator and doula, I just have to review Dawn. She has made such a difference in my students lives. Sometime births are not always gentle as we hoped for. Babies necks get pulled and twisted and they have a hard time nursing and not crying due to what is sometimes an undiagnosed injury. When I send them to Dawn - she is able to adjust them so softly and end their discomfort. Babies nurse better, gain more weight and begin sleeping like a champ. I highly recommend all parents take babi8es in for an adjustment during the first week but especially if they have an issue breastfeeding or crying a lot. It will make all the difference! read more

Dr.Dawn has been a life saver. She keeps me all tuned up so I can do my physical job of cleaning houses every day. She is very thorough, making sure everything is moving and working right in my body. I like that's she is gentle yet firm and knows her stuff. I highly recommend her! :) read more

I'm not one to go to the chiropractor ever, in fact I don't even like people touching me at all lol. However, when I found out my baby was breech, I was desperate and researched websters technique and found Dr Dawn. Dr. Dawn made me feel very comfortable. She was thorough and explained everything she was doing and why. She even had lots of toys in her office so I was able to bring my 20 month old to my 2nd appointment. After only 2 sessions, I got my ultrasound and found that baby had flipped into correct head down position. I will be honest, I'm not sure what made baby flip, because I was walking, doing spin baby exersizes, using peppermint oil, and seeing chiropractor. But I will say that after my 2nd session with Dr Dawn, I felt A LOT of movement in my belly. Thank you for listening and good luck mommies! read more

Dr. Dawn Sandberg is amazing. I had been suffering with a pain, due to PSD during my pregnancy for nearly 7 weeks. I have gone to other chiropractors with no relief and I had gotten to the point where I was starting to lose faith in my body and my whole pregnancy was becoming this painful issue for me. In one session she treated me, and paid such close attention to where I was hurting, that I walked away with 90% improvement. I was so shocked. I got off the table and hugged her right away. I have since referred my sister, best friend and another pregnant woman I know. Even if your not pregnant, she is such a breath of fresh air. She listens to you, treats you like a patient, not like another adjustment on a table. I love her personal touch and she makes me feel like I am getting the best possible care, and you can see she has a passion for what she does, and really really cares about people. She also works with children, and you can see by the "I love you Dr. Dawn" posters on her wall that they feel the same way I do!!! read more

I started coming here this week (found on yelp! ). I contacted Dr. Dawn over the weekend and she got right back to me. At 38 weeks pregnant I've been in loads of pain and after the first visit I felt great! I'll be coming back frequently and referring everyone I know. I wish I came sooner.... read more

I went to Dr. Dawn pregnant and in serious pain. I went to the the right place! She has been absolutely amazing. After our very first session she had me walking upright again and feeling ready to make it through the next few months of pregnancy. She has a very caring touch which is important to me as I am not accustomed to letting other people put their hands on me (other than my husband, obviously) She always puts me at ease and I spend all week looking forward to my next session with her. I can't recommend her services enough especially for us pregnant ladies. So pregnant or not, if you need somebody with the true gift of healing hands, Dr. Dawn is the right person for the job! read more

I've been seeing Dawn for about 6 weeks now. She is so caring and wonderful. She has a great first time discount (awesome) and I've since found the monthly membership to be great because when I've had extra pain before my next visit, she will squeeze me in for a quick adjustment. read more

I threw out my upper back a week ago and although the pain was gone, I still felt unbalanced and misaligned. I haven't been to a chiropractor in over 3 years because I moved and I always have trouble finding a gentle one. At the recommendation of a friend, I came in to see Dawn. She's quick, gentle and most of the time I didn't even know I was getting adjusted - and that's a huge plus for me. Thanks for the great appointment. read more

I saw Dr. Dawn toward the end of my pregnancy because my baby was posterior and I wanted to see if chiropractic care would help to turn her. I'm so happy that I came and saw her! Turned out that my sacrum was misaligned on one side. Within a couple days of the adjustment, my baby turned into a more favorable position. I came back and saw her a couple more times before the birth. I believe that this really helped me to have a smooth birth. Dawn was also very thorough with getting to know me and my health history and we talked a lot about pregnancy and birth, which was nice. When a pregnant mama that she sees has her baby, the baby is able to come in for a free first visit. I took my daughter in when she was a few weeks old and she did a couple adjustments on her. I will definitely go back and see Dr. Dawn for baby #2, whenever that is! read more

Found Dr. Dawn via yelp and had a great first time experience there!! I am pregnant and wanted to simply get adjusted and ready for the near birth of my baby. I really had no pain or major complaints prior to going, however after she worked on me I could literally feel a difference from when I first walked in her door. I was amazed at what just one time can do. She is very personable and friendly and I look forward to continuing my care with her throughout the pregnancy and as needs arise afterwards! read more

I started seeing Dr. Sandberg during my 2nd trimester and continued treatment with her throughout my pregnancy. She helped with my hip pain and getting me ready for childbirth. It was my second baby so I had something to compare this experience to. She was knowledgable and very helpful. What I like best about her is that she is very sincere. She does not try to talk anything up and gives her honest opinion, which made me comfortable around her. I give her 5 stars simply because I would definitely recommend her to a friend who needs prenatal chiropractic care. read more

I started going to Dr. Dawn a couple months ago after I was referred to her by Jennifer McIsaac my superb masseuse. I had an almost continuous numbness in my left arm, lower back spasms, and several other issues. Dr. Dawn gave me a thorough evaluation and has been working the injured areas with wonderful result!! My arm is numb 1/4 as often, I am horseback riding again due to no lower back pain and have increased my weight lifting at the gym by 30%. The location of my bones, muscles and connective components are being put where they should be after years of my own physical neglect. Between Dawn Sandberg, Jennifer McIsaac, weight loss, diet change and exercise I am feeling wonderful!! read more

I took my daughter to see Dr.Dawn when she was 8 weeks old after she had a tongue tie revision and was having difficulty stooling regularly. Dr.Dawn was so caring and gentle, she listened to my concerns like an old friend and helped my little girl feel better. After a few sessions with Dr.Dawn my baby wasn't screaming in her car seat, she was nursing well and started stooling regularly! Dr.Dawn is THE BEST chiropractor for babies! read more

I have been going to Dr Dawn on a regular basis (2xmonth) for about 3 years. I was impressed with her and the idea of Optimal Health - what would that look like? I just turned 68, and I don't know what I would be dealing with if I didn't have Dr Dawn adjusting me, and frankly, I have no interest in experimenting with that. I am well and when something starts to be painful, Dr Dawn always provides support. I know she specializes in pediatrics and pregnant moms, but I am proof that she's good for all of us! read more

Dr Dawn Sandberg just joined this practice. She specializes in the Webster techinique and has helped me tremendously during my pregnancy so far. I have PSD, Pubic Symphosis Dysfunction, and I will wake up with shooting pain in my butt. It is debilitating and I thought it was sciatica but it's not, it's misalignment of my pelvis. I can't go on enough about how Dr Dawn knows how to re-align the pelvis and get me to a place where I am 99% better! I am so happy that I found her to help with my pregnancy! I trust her especially during this time where I feel like a regular chiropractor just doesn't necessarily know enough about what happens during pregnancy to feel like they can manipulate me. read more

I came to see Dr. Dawn at the recommendation of my prenatal massage therapist after my doctor suspected by feeling my stomach that my baby might be lying sideways at 32 and 34 weeks. Hoping to avoid a c section I was willing to do whatever it took to try to move my baby. I saw Dr. Dawn for three Webster sessions. She has an approachable friendly demeanor and I enjoyed coming to see her. At 36 weeks I was happy to report to her that my baby was in the head down position! read more

I was so nervous going to a chiropractor in general, let alone pregnant. I'm so glad I chose Dr. Dawn to work on me! She helped my pubic pain so much in my 3rd trimester it was pure magic. I felt comfortable with her right away. Friendly front desk, and very calming, private room for adjustments. read more

I've been seeing Dawn for a few months now and I have to say she is absolutely wonderful. She did a very thorough assessment during my first visit and explained the adjustments and treatment plan that would help me. I really feel such a big difference in my neck and shoulders. Dawn definitely knows her stuff and is super passionate about what she does. I've always wanted to take my kids to a chiropractor but they are so resistant to that kind of thing (seriously the doctor is a nightmare and we have yet to get through a dental appointment) Dawn has toys in the office to entertain the kids while I get adjusted and make them feel calm and comfortable. She would let them "help" during my adjustments and after just a couple of visits, my son literally climbed up onto the table himself and laid down. I was amazed! She was able to give him a quick gentle adjustment and of course little sister had to do it too! I really cannot say enough good things about Dawn and her services, you should see for yourself :) read more
