Ordered on 1-9-20. Was told it would take about 3 weeks to get my sons senior year pictures. Still have not received any pictures. Left them numerous emails and voice messages. Last time I heard from them was on March 19th 2020. Said my pictures were at there Studio in Swansea Illinois. Was told by the owner he would mail out on Friday the 20th of March. I don't typically do this sort of thing, but I feel it's necessary to warn people. This September is my wedding anniversary and also a milestone birthday for me. Because of this my husband and I decided to get professional pictures taken. I was Facebook friends with Dawn Corwin at Dawn Corwin Creative Photography, so I reached out to her to see what her prices were. She informed me that I would need to pay a $300 deposit to book the date, and then I would pay for whatever images I want, once I SEE the photos! I explained to her that I most likely wouldn't want pictures printed because I prefer them all to be digital. Her next question was wanting to know the amount of my budget. Which I informed her it would be $400. I'm told at that point to go into her office the next day to pay the $300 and that she would have a date waiting for me. So, the next morning, I go into her office and I'm told by her secretary/hair stylist Danielle that I am supposed to pay $400. Umm.. what? No ma'am. I'm here to pay $300 to book a date, and I was told I would pay the rest AFTER I SEE the images. She then proceeds to tell me that there is $1.75 charge for running my debit card, and then charges me $302!! Yes, I know it was only a 25cent difference but you already made me upset with requesting $100 more than what I was required to pay and now your rounding my money up.. unbelievable. Anyhow, I pay the money, and ask for the date that I was TOLD I would get. She had nothing for me. So I wait the rest of the day, thinking I would hear from Dawn. I don't know what I was expecting but maybe some sort of message saying, "Hey, thank you for coming into pay today. I know I told you I would have a date set up for you, but I'm still working out my schedule and will get one to you asap." But nope. I had to message HER that night and ask about one. Which I was told at that point that I would get one soon. 15 days later.. still no date. So I message her again. No response. On the 16th day, I call her office and leave a message. No call back. So that evening I sent a message requesting a full refund because she had failed to give me a date that I have ALREADY PAID FOR. I then decided to take it a step further and tag her in her own personal post on fb, and requested that she check her messages and respond to me. Within an hour she responded. She completely DISREGARDED the fact that I wanted a full refund!! She even ADMITTED that her office let her know that I called and she had still FAILED to reach out to me. She apologized and said she would have a date to me asap and gave me her personal cell phone number. Immediately I texted her and explained that I wanted to sever our business relationship and that I wanted a full refund. She responded and asked that I please give her the opportunity to correct the issue and she would waive any additional fees for my images. So I accepted that deal. We discussed the types of photos I was requesting, places to shoot them, outfits etc. but yet.. I still didn't have a date. I asked her to get back to me with a date asap and that I would be respectful of her evening and wait for her to contact me. 2 days later and still no date. I texted her again to sever ties, and explained to her that I had disputed the $302 charge with my bank. This was a dead end though. My credit union informed me (after 10 days) that they could not reimburse my money because I made the transaction with my debit card "in person" and not directly online. So, as of today I have filed a claim for small claims court. I don't know what the future holds as far as her being held responsible to pay me back because from what I hear it's a problem getting people to follow through and pay these sorts of things without having their access to their banking info to garnish wages. But if I can prevent this from happening to someone else, that makes it all worth it. I say all this to say.. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do extensive research before trusting someone to take photos for you. Especially if they require you to pay upfront. I couldn't even check out her website (only her fb page) because it gave me a fraud alert, and after seeing some reviews of hers on other platforms that say "she steals peoples money," along with my own personal experience, I will NEVER EVER recommend her services to anyone. read more

She does not respond to messages or calls! she has ripped me out of $5,000 for senior photos that I paid for over a year ago and still haven't gotten them done. THE WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD! I'm surprised this company is still in business considering they rip off a majority of their customers. They not only apply an enormous amount of make up on their clients (mostly young children), but they overly edit their photos that totally diminishes the clients natural beauty. I've seen better editing results using a snapchat filter than what DCCP can produce. After being promised another photo shoot since my daughters was rained out, which they never delivered. She kept my large down payment ($350) and I still never received any printed photos from my daughters rained out shoot. Dawn and her husband are complete SCAM artists, they are your best friend until they get your money. Do yourself a favor and go to a professional honest photographer and save yourself the headache. read more

The time spent taking the pictures and quality was spectacular but that is where it ends. This company does not give u the prices until u see the proofs which is quite expensive. You are told right then that you have to purchase the pictures or loose them. No thinking things over for a couple days. I setup a payment plan with them for the first of every month. They took a payment out on December 20th!! My Christmas money was gone. Still no refund in my account and I have to buy my daughters Christmas presents after Christmas with my next paycheck. I would give her a 0 but it doesn't let u!she only posts her best photos.aits been almost 2mo since my wedding.had to threaten taking her to court after being nice numerous times to get my photos.and she has still only posted 64photos and they are all crap! It's been many years since we had our daughter's senior pictures taken with Dawn and her partner Joe and we treasure them. It was a fun and memorable day we will never forget. This review comes after the fact and working with this vendor. We still love their work; however, that is all..... We bought their top packages for engagement and wedding. This was about $8,500. Things went flawless with the engagement and wedding EXCEPT we waited 3 months for our wedding photos. We had numerous follow ups with them directly and falling on deaf ears. We were advised we needed to contact Dawn directly. Still, lack of follow up. We got so ticked off that I personally met with them. We are customers for life so why is this happening? We were assured that this isn't how they do business etc. etc.... We were assured they prioritize current customers over new customers. NOT TRUE. We gave them one more shot. We got my daughters photo shoot done with them. Again the work was flawless but we are almost at 4 months. We are missing the wallets and the app. We have had a huge lack of follow up and one excuse after another when we hear from them. I followed up today, apparently the wallets will ship to us soon. I had advised them in the meeting that all we needed was follow up and we are understanding. Lack of follow up this time shows lack of caring for our business. If you can wait 3+ months and have lack of follow up then this place is for you. If you expect 5 star service for spending $10,000 after 3 photo shoots like we have done then stay away. We love the work they do; however, after your shoot the customer service is lacking severely. You wait 3+ months for your pictures after spending $2,000+. We have them a second chance and After having a discussion that this is not the norm the same thing happens. They prioritize new customers over taking care of the ones they owe pictures too. The same excuses presented. Then when you get your pictures there are things missing. We were warned about this after our first mishap but like the other reviewers gave a second chance just to have the same thing happen. This was probably the worst experience I've ever had with a photographer. Every question I answered about myself was not good enough for Dawn when she was "getting to know me". I felt so self conscious, especially with the amount of make up being put on me, someone who wears minimal make up, but to her that must equal beauty. She was very snappy and I felt belittled. Because of this, we did not even make it to photos. SHE DID NOT REFUND MY FAMILY even though I never left her office or saw her camera. Total rip off. Do NOT go to her.
