We initially hired them to paint our master bathroom, but with their high quality work, attention to detail, and extremely reasonable prices we kept adding projects from our "wish list" to their scope. Ultimately, not only did they paint the bathroom, but they tiled one of the walls (it looks amazing), painted the upstairs bathroom cabinets, a couple of doors that needed some love, and ultimately, painted most of the exterior of our home. They also threw in the installation of a lot of cabinet hardware (handles and pulls) that we had intended to do ourselves, but due to procrastination (and laziness--let's be honest), hadn't gotten around to doing yet. Lonestar's owners came to our house every day (often multiple times) to check the progress of the work and make sure everything was being done according to our wishes and expectations. I really appreciated their attention to detail and their passion for making sure that everything was done exactly right and that we were happy with the results. He said that he had a crew that was going to be painting with him but ended up doing the whole project himself. I don't think he has employees.

The caulking work was also poorly executed, with several lines appearing crooked, uneven, and incomplete. They did not fill small nail holes and imperfections in sheet rock before painting making that stand out more after painting. I gave the company an opportunity to address these concerns, but the issues remained unresolved. Attention to detail and proper preparation are critical in painting projects, and unfortunately, those standards were not met on this job. Most days someone was here by 8 am. They worked most of the day, focused on details, and cleaned up before they left each day. Erick was always accessible answering or returning most calls within an hour. We agreed on a budget for both projects, we paid him as milestones were met, and his estimates were reasonable. We did supply sinks, tubs, faucets and tiles. All in all, we were very happy with our results. We would hire him again.

Holly called me back same day and the estimate was scheduled for the next day. The gentleman who came for the estimate arrived on time and was extremely professional. He clearly understood what needed to be done for each project we needed. Being the fairly new owners of the home, I wasn't sure if the previous owners had left some paint behind, so I requested the estimate include the cost if we had the paint, as well as the cost if they needed to provide the paint. He said I'd have an invoice by end of day. Nine days later I still hadn't received an invoice, and because I'd initially been impressed by the company, I called to follow up. Holly apologized and said she'd send it over immediately, and she did. However, the invoice was missing almost half the projects we'd discussed and only included the cost if we provided paint. I contacted her back pointing out the missing items, and received another estimate. The second estimate still had missing items. After a couple of emails and five updated estimates later the info still wasn't correct. We received five estimates from five different companies for our job and it was coming down to Mr Fixit Fast and another company. We ultimately went with the other company, even though they charged $600 more. To begin with, I spoke with Holly the owner. I scheduled an afternoon appointment to have a handyman come out and give a quote. On the day of, he surprised me by showing up just shortly before 9am when I had very little time. He claimed he was told morning...ok, I let it go. He provided a quote which I felt was reasonable and scheduled a repair for the next week. The day of the repair came and there was a downpour. This would affect part of the repair process, so I called and spoke with Holly. She seemed unaware of what exactly was going on and was unsure if the repair man would be coming or not. This struck me as very strange, but asked if she could find out. How could she not know? In any case, I get a call from the handyman about 2 hours after he was supposed to be there and we agreed to reschedule for the next week..exactly ONE week later. Here is the reason for this ONE star review: the next week rolls around and it is 9am..when he is supposed to be at my house. Nothing. I wait patiently...all the way until NOON...after noon I had heard nothing and decided to give them a call. Once again, I spoke with Holly who had no idea what was going on. She said she would call the handyman. About 40 minutes later the handyman calls apologizing claiming he forgot that today was my appointment. He said he forgot to write it down the last time we spoke and asked me to call Holly to reschedule. What's worse? Holly the owner NEVER called me. To this day, I have yet to hear a word from her. Hired this contractor to install a new wood floor downstairs due to a…read moreleak from a pipe that ruined the prior floor. During the installation of the new floor another pipe busted causing water damage. The contractor only ripped up a portion of the new floor for replacement. Two new contractors have run moisture tests showing moisture underneath the floor that was not ripped up. Both contractors agree that moisture has moved throughout the downstairs causing the damage. The contractor for Luxury Wood and Stairs also stated the sealant used was not high traffic sealant causing further damage. The new floor appeared well done. Over the next two years multiple boards became uneven and separated from other boards. I contacted Frank, who I believe is the owner of the company, nothing short of 15 times. He always forwarded me to his floor manager Mo. Mo never returned my texts and calls to discuss what appeared to be faulty workmanship. Finally after roughly 30 months Mo and Frank evaluated the floor. They agreed to repair the floor but asked we give them a few weeks to get it on the schedule. Frank sent a long email outlining what they planned on doing. This is the last I have heard from Frank. Clearly we should not be having issues with a floor that is 2 to 3 years old. I strongly suggest you do not use this company.
