My friends and I stopped by…read moreBrothers Cousins Tacos on a Thursday evening around 8:00 p.m. and there were only a few people in line in front of us. I ordered four tacos in total: two al pastor tacos, one lengua, and one cabeza taco. You start by ordering on the left side of the stall, pay for your food, and work your way right where all the garnishes and sauces are. Of the tacos I tried, my favorite was by far the cabeza. The meat was fatty and rich and melt-in-your-mouth tender. I would definitely recommend a squeeze of lime and raw diced onions to help cut the richness for a more balanced bite. With the al pastor, Brothers Cousins has a bunch of meat already sliced and diced up on the grill top, which unfortunately means unless you're getting the pieces of meat that are directly contacting the grill, you're not going to get the crispy bits that make al pastor so delicious. You do get a piece of pineapple with the al pastor, so that's a nice touch. Not my al pastor, but far from the worst. Overall, I cannot recommend Brothers Cousins enough if you're in this area -- the tacos here are seriously delicious and you're getting insane value. I hope they're able to maintain the $2 price point well into the future.

Plenty of spots were already filled with people eating by or near their cars. I like that we have this whole parking lot of Ralph's to kind of relax and chill at while eating. We didn't stay too long after we ate but I think overall the vibes were nice especially with some upbeat music playing. We would throw our plates in the trashcan on the sidewalk but I can see it get full quick. I tried out 3: the al pastor taco, the lingua taco, and the carne asada taco. Definitely the al pastor meat was something else. Extremely flavorful, tender, and the meat was chopped finely. I think without any salsa, the tacos would taste pretty standard. I pumped a good dose of each salsa from the toppings area. Ps I really like the fact that the salsas are poured that way rather than through a shared spoon scooper. It makes the experience feel more clean. I also think that you being able to add what toppings you'd like on a burrito before it gets wrapped is nice. While Miya Miya serves what's probably the best chicken shawarma wrap I've ever had, I don't think it's worth a 2+ hour wait. That said, if you take away the wait, these are absolutely five-star flavors. The incredible crunch of the wrap, paired with the pomegranate and garlic sauces, makes every bite crisp, rich, and ridiculously satisfying. And don't sleep on the fries. They're some of the best I've had and are absolutely worth ordering alongside the shawarma. I'll be back once these guys open their brick and mortar spot.
