Moreover, I thought driving through Downtown Woodland would be the scenic route since, I never drove through the Business District. Surprisingly, I really thought Woodland CA would be a city as historically quaint as Virginia City, Nevada but, Woodland doesn't possess too many old buildings per city block. My POV: Woodland, California is a quaint and peaceful city nestled in the heart of Northern California's Central Valley region but, has a bustling vibe and more people per square foot than Virginia City NV.

In search of a place to rest the eve of my flight out of SMF, I found this city. By the way, I clocked the drive and you can get into the airport premises from the Main Street/I5 entrance in 10 minutes flat. No speeding, No Traffic.... Now, back to the Woodland: 1. great eateries with small town values 2. parking plentiful 3. clean decent hotels and inns around to stay 4. close to Davis. 5. easy on/off the freeway (#15) I've stayed in the Woodland enough times for overnighters that I can safely say you are in a great little town. My next task is to schedule a visit to the Woodland when they have some fun activity (Like the Honey Festival) If you're in their neck of the woods, I suggest a stop.

I don't know if they meant to do this, but on a Kings win with the beam actually lit I bet this is even cooler. This is a bit hidden because you'll only catch it if you're heading down Merchant Street, which is a little alley, or if you're walking around in the area. However, now that Bumble Bear Coffee is open I've visited it a lot more often. Definitely check out this fun piece of art when you're in the area.

While I wish I could afford a home…read morethere, I am happy to enjoy the homes from the street as we pass by on errands and during the holidays when the Fab 40's are even more fabulous with lights and decorations. This area of Sacramento is so cute and has a great variety of shops, parks, restaurants and is just a vibe. One of our favorite restaurants was in this area, and when they were open we would be in the area weekly for our trivia night and explored a lot more. We tend to spend most of our time near Folsom Blvd and J Street. Corti Brothers is a must visit when you're in the area and if you're in the area on the weekend Moonbelly Bakery in on the cusp of East Sacramento and is so worth a visit. More staples of East Sacramento that we visit are The Pet Department Store for all our dogs needs, where the staff is super sweet and always gives our dog treats. The Sacramento Turn Verein where they host Oktoberfest, Bockfest and teach German Language classes. McKinley Park with its Rose Garden and Tiferet By The Park for a snack and drink while you're walking around. This whole area has trees lining the road, a lot of shade and gives a more peaceful feel to a busy city area. The neighborhoods are so cute and easily walkable. While I mentioned a few restaurants and businesses there are so many to discover here.

It's okay though, since your driving so slow in traffic you can see everything. This drive is worth it. People do walk but usually it's to cold out for us to do that. This is my first time attending a Pride Festival and so yesterday our little family decided to go…read moreall out, rainbows and all!! Tickets were purchased online a month before in case they sold out! Lines to get in can be long! Thankful for those offering water in this heat! I love both men and women and always believed love is love! My grandpas are gay and one of them is unfortunately passing and I wanted to also go in honor of him! There was a protester in line with a big sign, yelling at people and I stood up to him! Not ok to judge others and actually sir God loves all people! Our toddler and I enjoyed dancing to the music, but some songs were not age appropriate. Volunteers of Sac Pride were so sweet, bubbly and complimentary, my husband donated $5 and they did a cheerleading trick! If you donate $10 they'll also give you a button! ~Purchases~ One of the churches were advertising these cooling neck scarves and we were so hot we said we'll take 3! Our toddler felt so much better that she got a little more pep in her step! Such sweet ladies, fun designs and only $4-$5 each! At another booth I spied Disney crock charms and remembered my husband was in need of some and they were just $3 each! He picked out Disney couples, how cute is he? He treated us to lunch and unfortunately the Vietnamese food truck didn't have the best banh mi, but I will say the egg roll and lychee lemonade is fantastic!! I loved how sweet the vendors were offering free sunglasses, sunscreen, fake tattoos, glitter showers and spin the wheels! My hubby loved his sunnies and our toddler got a sensory sticker! Even the Sacramento Children's Museum had a tent with sensory bins that included ice and toys and more! My toddler also loved the paint dot pens and stamps! They also gave us rainbow leis! Be aware no outside food or drink allowed, you may bring empty reusable bottles and use water refilling station! I'd suggest an insulated one so it stays cool! Not all vendors were cashless despite the website. Wear sunscreen, bring fans, misters etc to beat the heat! I'd love to attend the parade next time if our schedule allows! 4/5 star experience! SYOY! :-)

Carmichael is a nice little town between interstate 80 and highway 50 even though it's a little…read moretrek to the freeways. When I first moved to the Sacramento area back in 2007. Carmichael was where I called home for about 4 years and really loved living here it's a pretty quite town for the most part. There Carmichael Park which has a nice sized dog park and nice sized tennis courts and every Sunday where you can enjoy the Farmers Market. There are also small neighborhood park like Jan Dr Park, Gibbons park and Maddox Park. There and nice shopping centers and nice family owned Restaurants around and one of my favorite coffee shops Boulevard Coffee and now they have a Dutch Bros! There also the La Sierra community center for activities and many classes for Adults as well as for the kiddos too! They also do the 4th of July Fireworks show nearby as well. Most people just watch from the Big Lots Parking lot located on Fair Oaks Blvd and Engle Rd. There are plenty of schools like: Carmichael Elementary Cameron ranch Elementary Mary A Deterding Elementary Coyle Ave Elementary Starr King Elementary Mission Elementary Winston Churchill Middle School John Barrett Middle School Roy Rogers middle School Del campo High school located in Fair Oaks. Mira Loma High School located in Sacramento - Arden Arcade El Camino High school located in Sacramento - Arden Arcade Rio Americano High school located in Sacramento - Arden Arcade Since, Carmichael has no actual Public High School. And a few Private schools like Jesuit as well. If you enjoy nature there's Ancil Hoffman park it absolutely beautiful let me tell you. Carmichael has so much to offer where you live here or not. There is so much to appreciate about Carmichael. Grocery shopping you have, Bel- Air, Raley's and Safeway. There a Home Depot and Walmart Neighborhood Market and a Petsmart! The commute to Davis wasn't bad you just have to find the right time to beat traffic. The fees got kind of crazy after they built the new community building but other than that management is amazing and we loved our stay. Our ac leaked a lot and it didn't blow strong enough but that was the only downside.
