Never ever rent from Patti davis ( davis real estate ) lock haven . They send in repair men and they NEVER LEAVE forcing the tenant to what some where else while repairs are being done ! ! ! Honestly if I could give a negative star I would. NEVER AGAIN. Which is going to be hard since they basically have a monopoly over Lock Haven. We moved into the place we have now, its $900+ for a very small 3 bedroom apartment. Small complaints are the toilets and bathtubs are tiny, I am 5'9 and my boyfriend is 6'2. These are like kindergarten toilets. There is absolutely no storage what so ever, I just had a baby in Feb and I have to drive an hour every time I have to take her old clothes to my parents house. Big Complaints. I was 7 months pregnant when we moved in and literally every month there are issues with things just worn completely out, they didn't check anything prior to us moving in. I was trying to get the dryer hooked up for almost 2 months because the lint tube was completely collapsed and no one came. The first day we were there, we had to put a request in about a clogged sink. We spent a ridiculous amount of money in the winter for heat because we had giant holes on the sides/under the door, when they snow blowed it was snowing in my house. Plus the window I sat next to had a draft so harsh my hair would blow. After 3 attempts to contact and one crappy patch job it was finally fixed at the end of June. I put in about the bathtub clogged 2 times since the day we moved in and have yet to see anyone for that. Recently I called about flies and bugs being awful because I don't do bugs and for having 2 kids, my house is clean. The lady told me "You should be used to bugs, you live in PA" I've lived in PA since I was 9 and I have never had this many bugs in my house. We heard the people upstairs like they were in my room with me. Thankfully my baby is a deep sleeper and noise doesn't bother her, but not only that, if we can hear them, they have to be able to hear us and for the first 3 months of her life she was up every 2-3 hours and that is not fair to them either. Our padlock doesn't work, they told us to change the ($20) battery and it still doesn't work and we have yet to see anyone about that which is AWESOME since we can't lock our door. Our friend also got a place with them and all the fire alarm batteries were completely eroded. When he first moved in there was no heat and about 3 months later he still has no heat which is fine now but, winter is going to be awful. Also maintenance entered his house with no warning multiple times. For being a big local company they treat their tenants and properties like crap and rip them off big time. I will never recommend them to anyone ever, super disappointed and wished we had time to keep looking for an apartment last year because this has been and still is a stress fest. I have heard about them taking peoples deposits for absolutely no reason so I plan on getting a professional cleaner to double check my cleaning when we move out and making it better condition than when we moved in with receipts to see if they still take it.. People don't have 2100 dollars to just blow and its disgusting. read more

Wish I could give a zero rating! The WORST company ever. So rude and unprofessional. They towed my car (in the lot with my parking permit on it) and refused to pay so I had to pay over 100 dollars. I am a student with no parents- I cannot afford that! I heard bad things but decided to rent from them anyway. Biggest mistake ever. You cannot get ahold of them for anything. Also charging me ten dollars to get my security deposit check. I didn't charge them for writing them the check in the first place! Never heard of anyone ever doing something like this and I've been working at a Philadelphia center city real estate office for years! My co workers and the owner of my company are appalled at how rude and unprofessional these people are via phone, email, and the things they try to do. read more

Horrible rental agency. Avoid, AVoid, AVOid, AVOid, AVOID! When looking to rent a house, they ignored all of things i requested (location, bedroom number, etc) and showed me places without appliances! Really? I then said I would pay more for a place that had appliances. The houses were dirty and clearly not maintained well. They wasted my time to show me only the places they WANTED to rent. Multiple friends have rented from them and have disaster stories. Example one: broken toilet took 7 days to fix. Example two: oil burning furnace caught on fire! Luckily they were at home. This took 5 days to fix= 5 days without heat! ***They are known for keeping security deposits even when you leave your rental in great condition. Seriously, read the fine print and question WHEN you will get your deposit back. Sadly, they control a large chunk of rentals for students. read more

I was hesitant to leave a written review along with my 1-star rating until July 10th, (we moved out on July 1st) when owner Patty Davis called my husband to harass him over a private internal survey they sent us; regarding our maintenance request prior to move out. I only gave praise to the maintenance man, himself, and Pattie called us to threaten us and suggest that she will take more money from our security deposit. We had a multitude of issues with this company. When first viewing the property, Pattie "got lost" and gave us several insane reasons as to why she missed our showing-appointment. Cornerstone properties are beautiful, but terribly uninsulated. The team at Davis Realty put a young family with a 2 year old toddler on the top floor. Our first night up until the day we left, we were harassed via phone calls, texts and emails. We will not be continued to be bullied. I would recommend living in a wet box on the street in the middle of a blizzard on skid-row, then ever rent from Davis Real Estate. *Pattie stole our entire security deposit, minus $61. I wish I would have read the reviews before ever signing the lease with her. read more

Although the apartment I rented is located very close to work, is reasonably priced, and has a washer and dryer; I have been extremely disappointed in the assistance I have received from the maintenance department. When I initially moved in, I had a leak under my sink and it took 4 days for them to respond (TO A WATER LEAK)!! I would think water intrusion would be of utmost importance. I had to call multiple times to get a response. I have also made repeated attempts to request outdoor lighting, (both online and via telephone request) as it is very, very dark, and the stairs are uneven. I have never been contacted to repair the light laying on the ground, and no additional outdoor lighting has EVER BEEN INSTALLED!! In November I will have rented this apartment for an entire year (13 months to be exact), my rent has never been late and I am extra exceptional tenant!! My car has been broken into, and our neighbor fell down her stairs due to poor lighting. I have quit recommending Davis reality to the over 300 employees we have onsite. I look forward to reviewing your apartment complex on as many outlets online as I can find (especially the maintenance department). read more

On multiple occasions the maintenance men had come into my apartment without giving me 24 hours notice. I was in the shower once ,when they walked into the bathroom while I was naked to alert me that they were there. I also had received a notification that my rent was going to be late even though I payed in full for the whole year ....turns out they had charged me for another persons rent. They had not given me any notice that there was a hot water pole exposed in my bedroom, and I had unknowingly touched it while cleaning, leading to me getting a 3rd degree burn on my hand. To put a cherry on top, I had spent a WEEK cleaning my apartment ( I washed all walls and baseboards) , and even had family members come to help clean my apartment, had my carpets professionally cleaned, and Davis still took $100 dollars away from my deposit for " cleaning fees". I have always felt that they take advantage of me because they think I am a " stupid college kid". read more

As much as I liked the townhouse I lived in for two years, I had heard rumors about how Patty Davis, the owner, ends up gouging all tenants in the end. I did not want to believe it because she was nice to me, and let me out of my lease early without penalty. I consider myself to be a very conscientious and clean owner; she even commented on how well I took care of my place. When we left, she decided to replace the carpets (as she did with all the townhouses in the row), and charged me for it, citing "odors." My partner hand scrubbed and we had the carpets cleaned (both ourselves and professionally), but she charged us over $500. I could not believe it. If you can find an "honest" rental company, please do so. I had never experienced such underhanded dealings in my life, and I have been a renter for over 23 years. read more

This rental agency will jump through hoops to take money from unsuspecting college kids wallets. They prey on the ignorance of new renters and try to swindle responsible tenants with blindside payments and imaginary fines. They will lie about inquiries for apartments to force students into prematurely signing a lease for the following year. These come off not only as threatening but also as an invasion of privacy. Davis Real Estate is quick to come down on students about rental payments and lease renewals but maintenance requests take weeks at a time to be taken care of and typically are not solved immediately. Davis Real Estate uses this ploy as means to steal students security deposits. The people skills of the staff make renters feel pressured and uncomfortable to say the least. They are quick to assume you are a disrespectful college student and refuse to reciprocate respectful inquiries. Overall my experience with Davis Real Estate is far from forgettable but for all the wrong reasons. I will look back on my college days laughing about how mistreated and run down my home had become to no fault of my own. I write this to inform others and to express my concern so that they will not make the same mistakes I made. Avoid renting through this shady and disrespectful company. read more
