-0- stars. Terrible customer service. Technician spent 3 hours at our house and maybe 30 mins with our heating units the remainder of the time he sat in his truck on phone. When he was under the house checking the unit he was on the phone having a personal phone call. He did not wear a mask in my house or when communicating with us and made comment on the phone to someone he was asymptomatic. When I confronted him he said "oh no My cousin has covid but I tested negative". They left us without any heat. Will never use them again or recommend to anyone. Not a trustworthy company. read more

It's taken almost a year for me to write this review because I was just too angry. First, I live 600 miles away in Ohio trying to handle all this when my mom went into the hospital and a nursing facility. First, they sold my mom an old, if not used, heat pump and a/c at full price. Too easy to take advantage of the elderly. She bought an extended service plan, which they recommended because of the condition of the "new" unit. Even though it was under this plan and was serviced twice a year faithfully, when we put her house on the market, we had to have about 5 or 6 service calls to get the thing to work. They made an appointment to meet my brother, who drove from ATLANTA to get there, and never showed or called. When I called to find out why the no show, they said "oh, you meant a real appointment, I thought you meant stop by if they could". Then the a/c stopped working the day of the estate sale, they promised to send someone, and never did until almost a week later. Then when the house was under contract and the inspector came, there was yet more wrong, so the house couldn't close until the repair was made. Davis quoted a price twice what it should have been, so we hired a different company to do the repairs for half their quote. In total, my mom probably lost a couple thousand during her estate sale because of the 95 degree heat with no a/c, then a total of $350 to fix a/c that was already checked during the seasonal tune up/check up and declared operational. I would never recommend this company. A couple months worth of frustration dealing with them was awful. read more

We first found and hired Davis Heating & Air Conditioning after a poor configuration of several pieces of HVAC equipment by another company led to high humidity levels in the house, despite having purchased a whole-house dehumidifier.  The company who had installed that equipment was not willing to remedy the situation, even after we hired a building scientist, at our own expense, to figure out the problem (as the former HVAC company had been unable to), and redesign our system.  Keith Davis, owner of Davis Heating & Air was professional, open-minded, and willing to carry out the building scientist's recommendations.   As we found out, homeowners seeking help cannot take for granted that the "professionals" know what they are doing.  It should be a given that HVAC professionals know what a Manual J and Manual D are and how to use them, what static pressure is and how to check it, how to properly seal ducts, etc., but many do NOT.  It would behoove every homeowner to educate themselves before hiring a heating and air conditioning contractor, or like us, they may be sorry later.  Energystar.gov and http://www.acca.org are good places to start.    Mr. Davis has also been very good about explaining and helping us to understand how things work.  Having been burned by the former company's install and also having serious health concerns, we have needed to be more involved than an average homeowner might.  Mr. Davis has been very kind and patient to explain things more than once when necessary.  He has continued to discuss any concerns we might have or questions that come up after-the-sale, something many contractors are NOT good at, but could be, if only they cared.  Mr. Davis would never claim perfection but he seeks excellence. If there IS a problem, he will rectify it. Employees may come and go, and some are more skilled than others, but as long as Mr. Davis is at the helm, you will be taken care of.   As with any profession, continued education is critical to remain at the top of your chosen field.  The most refreshing thing about working with Mr. Davis has been his willingness to continue learning.  Humility and teachability will elevate a businessman above their competition, which is where you will find Keith Davis of Davis Heating & Air Conditioning. We have been unfortunate to need so much HVAC work, but we are thankful that our misfortune allowed us to find a good contractor, that we can trust. read more

Davis Htg. and Air installed our system 11 years ago and have provided maintenance yearly. On Sunday night we noticed our air wasn't working and contacted their office around 9:30pm. The lady that schedules called us and let us know they would be to our home first thing Monday morning. They arrived on time, wore shoe covers in our home, and found the motor on our outside unit not working. They gave me a price before repairing and that was exactly what the amount was. They have always been prompt, courteous and very professional in all of our dealings with them. Would recommend to anyone needing help with their air conditioning or heating system. Davis air is a complete joke! My mom and dad bought a warranty to have ac checked out 2 times a year, ( on a supposibly) NEW unit, but when they came out this year it wasn't even time to turn on AC but they just looked at it never turning anything on, charged them a fee for coming out, then when they did turn it on in the spring it wouldn't come on ,she called them again they came out and ask her if they had had a storm recently, she said that it had rained the week before, so he told her that lightning had hit it and it needed a part that cost them almost 400.000 plus another 89.00 survive call, (what actually was the maintenance plan for?)(my dad passed away in Jan), then about 3 weeks ago it was making a loud noise and wasn't blowing out cool air, so she called them back, they came out again a pit another part on and that was another 150.00 plus 89. service call, them it ran for about a week then quit again ,do she called them again they came out and said it was the compressor this time, that was another 89.00 service call just to tell her that, plus she ask if that would go toward another unit, and was told no. They told her they couldn't get to it until July 9, so when my mom called me, and said they wanted almost 3000.00 for a new compressor, and it may last her for aw hi ole or could go out at any time, but she could get a new unit for 5700.00, I ask her what size unit ,she said he only told her it was 18 coil, I said not that but what size ton,was it a 2,3,or 4 ton unit, and that price sounded high, (because we just a month ago had a new one installed), so she called him back to ask him and told him that I didn't pay that much, he told her that he wasn't telling her ,to call her daughter back and discuss it with her, they had brought 2 small window units out on Friday afternoon, so when he acted that way on the phone she was really upset, she is 83 , He also told her that I was wrong there was no way I could get it cheaper, well that just made her more upset, so she called him back Friday around 8:30 and told him she changed her mind she was going a different route, and to come and pick up the 2 window units, the lady got rude and told her she couldn't get in touch with them because it was after hours, which 5 min after she hung up they called her back and said she couldn't do that, (she hasnt signed anything yet,), she said she was just going somewhere else, he then told her he was charging her 300.00 for the use of the window units which she had for about 5 hrs, she said she was not paying that, so he said he was suing her in court , they hung up and then awhile later she called and ask them when were they coming to get them , he said to quit harassing him that he was calling the law, so about 6 min later she gets a call from someone saying that they were the police but would not give her a name when she ask, he told her that she couldn't call him back that was harassment, we also know that the real police would have given his name, so Davis called HER back and said they would come Saturday morning between 7 and 7:30 to get them, well my brother in lawtook both out of the windows and set them outside under the carport, well at 5:30 am they was there ringing her doorbell and for a bit too, she has them on camera, normal professional people don't do something like that, they just wanted to show her what they could do I guess, just jerks. But if you can save 2500.00 for the same thing and also for a 12.00 part she was charged 300.00 unless you just like to give away money, she is on a fixed income and don't have it. This company is very rude and pushy and on top of that they are liers be and try to cheat you ,the Davis way, that's there commercial on TV plus has Jack Roper on there knowing that most elderly people really likes him, ( no accident )and then puts their hands over their hearts and says how they stand behind their work and are a honest company, well while on the phone with him the last time my mom said well I will be praying for you he told her not to bother to pray for him to pray for herself! I would NEVER call or recommend Davis to anyone, actually I would tell anyone how badly she was treated just because she changed her mind ,now she is getting it done this Monday and 2500.00 less with a 10 year warranty. I can't believe that a company so big can really be such the opposite of their commercials!!! He also told her she couldn't back out or give him a bad review, she didn't sign the first paper, but even if she had South Carolina has a law that you have 3 days to back out of a deal that you do sign. Oh and it is funny that all good reviews not the first bad one is on their website. But thank goodness they can't change the ones on here! read more

Terri from davis heating and air conditioner came to our house due to the fact that our heater was not working. He looked at the thermostat and right away said we had the wrong thermostat...I explained to him that we had this thermostat for more than a year already and he explained that because of this cold wheather and the emergency heating pump etc....he look at the unit outside and came back in and again said that yes we had the wrong thermostat it would cost us 197 dollars for a new one plus the 89 dollars for the service call or we could replace it our selfs...he told me to look for a thermostat with 2heat and 1cool. So the next day I bought a nice thermostat from home depot and payed 49 follars for it...when we where getting ready to remove the old thermostat from the wall we noticed a reset button on the inside part of it and a button that said "emer" "off" this button was set to off we were supposed to have it on "emer" after reseting the thermostat and setting the "emer" switch to "on" ...our heat system is working perfectly better than ever...this filtrete thermostat that was already install was the right one we didn't have the wrong one like terri said....if I had allow him to change this thermostat for the one he was wanting to replace it with it would have cost us near 300 dollars..still I believe that if he would have at l east look on the inside cover of our thermostat he would have noticed the reset button and "emer" button... He didnt even do that....this filtrete thermostat we had for over a year is compatible with out heat system. ..it's sad that companies like this one take 89 dollars from you in less than ten minutes and don't even give you the right diagosis....no! I won't recommend davis heating and air conditioner and also don't call central heat and air you will be very disappointed. And yes I did call davis heating and air conditioning today and asked the lady who answered the phone to please tell terri how wrong he was with his diagnosis. read more
