I love everything about this place. I was a little…read more-concerned- when the first meeting was a zoom, but it really gave me a chance to share my concerns with Dr. Mandi, discuss her treatment thoughts for my GSD, and plan for our first appointment. Because so many dogs coming here are post-surgery or otherwise having issues, they're super careful to avoid K9-contact and so our first appointment was very low stress. Dr. Mandi worked with my dog to make sure everything was set for our plan. Thereafter we did physical therapy, where Trixie did as much PT as I did learning, water treadmill (which I thought was going to be a disaster but went swimmingly well). You see different team members when you come in so you get a really good perspective on different approaches to the PT/training (Trixie trains easily, me less so). They also are collecting all of the A-Team local providers here, including accupuncture etc.. 5-stars, definitely recommend.

Healing arts is amazing! Both of our dogs had successful TPLO a few years ago, but as they age…read morethey are getting arthritis, spindolysis, and the occasional pulled muscles. Our dogs love the underwater tredmill, laser therapy, and the gym! They have so much fun with the talented and caring staff, and come home feeling rejuvenated and exhausted. Also healing arts helps us submit bills for pet insurance which really helps! We look forward to many more years to happy healthy dogs with their help!

Mango's second visit today at Natural Healing Veterinary Acupuncture, PC…read more Dr. Jester has been a delight to chat with while Mango gets his treat-ments it's a breath of fresh air having HOUR or longer one-on-one appointments with a veterinarian. If you're a 2.0 pet parent, looking for answers and a more detailed holistic approach to your pets care, look no further! I feel so lucky to have found someone so close to home(brand new location in Milwaukie,OR) that I can refer friends and family to Coming from someone who worked in vet clinics for 16yrs, I can't emphasize enough how important it is to explore ALL areas of veterinary medicine, not just what's mainstream. ‼Proper pet care should be taught, not told! Please don't wait until your pet is suffering to think, "maybe we'll try acupuncture as a last ditch effort"... your pet could be missing out on some serious healing! https://www.drjester.com/

We have been doing regular maintenance and can see how helpful this is to our dog. Dr Becky has always responded to all my concerns and issues immediately, she does not promote anything she does not believe in. It's obvious her main concern is the health and happiness of the animal. Our dog knows when we turn onto her street and gets so excited, its so cute and funny! If your questioning taking your dog to acupuncture, please try it at least once with Dr Becky. She really does have a gift and we are so thankful to have found her!!!

Lents

After a cross-country drive from Texas to Oregon, I knew my dog had to be feeling stiff and…read morecramped--she had just spent a week curled up in the front seat without room to stretch, aside from short breaks and hotel stays. I knew she could benefit from a massage, and I wanted to support her comfort as best I could while we're here in Oregon. That's how I found Very Important Pooch and reached out to Lela. Oregon law requires a veterinary referral before a practitioner can legally provide massage therapy for dogs. As someone just visiting--and from Texas, which has nearly identical restrictions--I know firsthand the time and cost realities of that barrier. Coordinating with my vet back home would mean multiple appointments at $$$ each, paperwork, delays, and a series of uneducated questions about a modality I'm not credentialed in--because the barrier places the authority to "approve" massage in the hands of someone who, based on vet school curriculum analysis, is among the least qualified to assess it. And of course, I'm not certified either--and I don't believe Lela should be required to donate free hours just to convince someone who is supposed to be an expert in my dog's health but lacks even the basic hours of education in this field. Lela is already highly trained and certified to do what I believe in--and what I'd argue most of us already know is foundationally sound care. Veterinary programs I've researched devote a tiny fraction of their total hours to massage, chiropractic care, or even nutrition--often just 1-2 credits in a 4,000+ hour curriculum. That's less than 0.1% of their training. Yet those graduates become the legal gatekeepers to my pup's health and comfort. So instead of pushing up against that mismatch, I asked Lela if she could teach me directly. She met that request with professionalism and warmth. We scheduled an appointment, and I found myself becoming vigilant in watching my pup--so I could begin learning. She helped me start the session by focusing and centering, and it only got better from there. She used my own arm to demonstrate how much pressure to apply--something I never could've learned through a screen. I felt grounded in the learning and empowered to work with my dog. I bounced all over the place with questions, and she supported my learning style with grace. And it worked! My pup visibly softened under my hands, and this morning, she genuinely seems looser, more comfortable, and has more pep in her step. I've already booked another session for next week. Whether you're a local pursuing a vet referral or a visitor wanting to learn, I highly recommend working with Lela. She honors the law without compromising education--and she empowered me in the process. Oh, and tell her Paws and J sent you :-)

All she knew about our bunnies beforehand were their names and genders. It was funny and heartwarming to hear how our bunnies wanted to describe themselves! We were able to learn more about their likes and dislikes. Thea was also able to talk to our bunny Bailey about not peeing on our bed (which Bailey said was a territorial thing). That night after our reading, Bailey slept with us in the bed and did not pee! It was also comforting to learn more about our bunny Brody's passing because it was so quick and for an unknown reason. He was able to clarify some things for us and reassured us that he had an underlying issue and felt that it was his time to go. I am looking forward to meeting with Thea again in the future and would recommend her to anyone who would like to connect with their furry loved ones, whether they're living or passed
