We particularly love the jazz events, as we are passionate about all forms of art and music. Everyone at the gallery has made us feel very welcome as we settle into the area. While we haven't yet been able to take full advantage of everything the Gallery offers, we look forward to attending workshops, classes, and special events, once we are more 'planted'. And of course we will continue enjoying the Art when we visit, and purchasing the works when we are able. There truly is something for everyone at Sunset River Gallery, and I highly recommend the experience to anyone. Many thanks & much respect to all of the folks at the Gallery for providing such a wonderful space for the community.

After a long week of being off my practice and on the road, I found The Breathing Space on the…read moreHolden Beach Causeway. My body & spirit rejoiced when I entered the small, neat studio. The lobby is a sunroom with cubbies, mats for rent and all the props you need to practice. The teacher, Diane, greeted me and showed me their quick check in process. We chatted and I immediately felt at home. Tonight's class was "Bliss Down", exactly what I needed after a week of dealing with life. The studio was a long back room with hardwood floors. The other students and I followed Diane's gentle, serene instructions. I love yoga studios that make you feel that it is your practice and it is not a competition. My body stretched and strengthened and sighed with pleasure. At the end, and I am always surprised when a good yoga session is over, while we were in sevasana, Diane treated us to a lavender temple message. When she pulled on my ears, I thought my spine was going to turn to jelly and sink through the floor, it was that relaxing! Then back to the real world - I will definitely visit again - $12 for that type of mind/body pampering is well worth it!

If I could give zero stars I would. Karen altered my dress in a way we did not discuss and she…read morealtered the look of the dress. She "added" a flap to the back top of the dress around the neck & shoulders that wasn't there, then tried to tell me she did not. Even after I showed her the picture of the dress from Bloomingdale's website with no back flap. When I tried to discuss with her the best way to fix her "screw up" (I didn't use those words, I was very respectful), she told me she was going to do it the way she wanted to do it. When I told her I wasn't sure that was the best way to put the dress back to normal she told/yelled to me "just take it and leave then. I've already spent enough time with you and I've got 2 other dresses upstairs I'm working on. I already told you what I was willing to do and I don't have anymore time for you!" I was there for less than 20 minutes. She left more holes from pins and stitching in my dress from her sloppy work that I'll never be able to remove. And she still expected me to pay her in full. I paid her for hemming the dress but that's it. And frankly that was too much because she changed to style of the dress!!!! I really was hoping she was a good seamstress. She is horrible, overpriced, and rude is an understatement. I can't stress this enough. DO NOT USE KAREN AT SEW SASSY. She is "sassy" alright.
