The cashiers despite obviously having to deal with a lot are the only great thing about this place because they've always been friendly to me. I often go here for online pick up and think it's very annoying they don't have a specific lane for something this simple, the option for curbside takes just as long as going inside. I wouldn't recommend this store to shop at only because you have to dig through tons of irrelevant mess to get to what you intended to buy. Only go here if you have a ton of time in your day to sift through the mess of this store and stand in a long line despite how little the customer occupancy is.

This Joann is kind of a large store but I feel like it's just not well stocked or really ever full…read more The seasonal items are ridiculously priced and although they'll have signs saying that they're usually between 20 to 50% off, even those prices for small items are out of control. You can get similar items at Hobby Lobby or Michaels for much less plus use another coupon on top of it so I'm not sure where their prices are coming from. If you ever come in here and you're paying for something full price unless it's yarn or fabric it's probably too much. They do carry cute things and really good fabric. Their scrapbooking section is also great. The people at the fabric counters are always helpful in nice, but if you need help with something else unless you go up to the counter you probably won't find help. I often either have to stand in a very long line which I do understand, or there will be one person at the register and nobody else in the store that you can find. So it's like you take it or leave it. As long as you know that going in and you can figure out what you want you'll probably find it be able to get out. But if you're coming in for like a craft experience or something like that I think you'll be a little bit disappointed with this location. It would be great if they just kept their shelves a little bit more controlled and not cluttered with miscellaneous items they don't really belong in the section. Kind of like a go back. Or the first few shelves in the middle when you come in that are seasonal if they don't have enough merchandise that maybe they should think of reorganizing the store in a better way.

There…read morewas a sale on some fabrics and the choices here are much more vast than the place we go to at home in Windsor. So we came to this location in Grosse Point, because it's close. The parking lot is not right next to the entrance, but a few feet up. Which was fine, we ended up parking next to Kerby Field, which I'm assuming is a park in the area. Everything in this town is so small and condensed, and so was this location too. Most locations are bigger and more up to date, but that didn't make them have less selection, if not they had a bit more of the fabrics my mom was looking for. The staff were very nice and helpful, after we found what we were looking for in fabrics, we went to the cutting station and the employee was very nice, asked us what we were doing with the fabrics, cut them to the length we asked for and told us to have a nice day. We also went by some of the areas where they had baking stuff, and picked up two of Rossana Pansino's poop emoji moulds, we can't get these at regular stores in Canada, so I picked up two to make for Christmas! The only thing that would have made this experience a bit better was the fact they had lack of cashiers up at the front tills and the line up was getting a bit long, and people were getting a bit impatient. There were two cashiers, the one who took us was nice and friendly, as was everyone who worked there that we had encountered. Overall good experience for this smaller location, but bigger on the inside (see what I did there?) This location had some good selection and were most likely to be back if we need more fabrics or materials.

It appears this store is closing, there are tons of empty shelves here and lots of clearance sections. The staff informed us it's just the end of the season clearance, they aren't planning on closing a. Their performance fabric by the yard isn't bad, $10/yard. Service staff in the fabric are quick and helpful. They can only cut fabric in a single direction, so, it's not possible to get 8" squares cut out at all. Not so deft in crafts, so this is probably only my 5th or 6th time in a Joann store. My kind of art tends to be more fitting on canvas. They sell round shank embroidery machine needles here too.

We don't come here for the fabrics or sewing materials that they specialize in and have a ton of options for, but they still have a ton of options for it. We mainly come in to check out the different holiday items and also the picture frames. Their holidays aisles have tons of options, specifically their "Place & Time" brand. Many items are on sale (it seems like all the time), which is really nice. We even come after the holiday when they move the items to a different part of the store to sell for a higher percentage off. Most of their holiday items before the holiday are between 20 and 50 percent off, which definitely gets you in the holiday spirit for whatever holiday season it is. The store is meant for people not looking to spend a ton on holiday decorations. The staff is really friendly and helpful too. So many options and things to choose from, it's nice to have a little bit of help!

In 2016: I found this to be a huge Joanns compared to the ones we have in my town, with a large selection of most items I looked at. I was, however, disappointed that I didn't find any fleece remnants that I liked well enough to buy. I also discovered an error on my receipt when I got home. I picked up a purple measuring tape specifically because I wanted something inexpensive and it was on a rack that was marked $1.99 each. When I checked my receipt later I was charged $2.49. I know that's only $0.50 but an error is an error and it canceled out part of the coupon that I used. On the good side, they had one skein in stock of a yarn that I haven't seen in stores for a couple of years so I was tickled pink to use my coupon to buy it. It had been a favorite of mine when I was living in Arizona and I was very disappointed to find that the Arizona and San Diego stores no longer carried it. I only had occasion to talk to one clerk and she did send me the right direction but I have to say in other stores they will usually walk you to the item you're looking for and not just wave their hand in the direction you need to go. I'm sure I will be back to this location while I'm in town because it is about the same distance from me as the one on Middlebelt Road, but with the advantage of being close to both Michael's and Hobby Lobby so that I can hit all three stores in one trip.

I wrote a note saying Thank you you and displayed this through window. She placed items in our trunk. I and Joann rep gave a smile and thumbs up! We're not a regular at any Joann Fabrics and Crafts but it's where I go when I'm looking for some…read morepatching material to extend the life of some of my Blue Jeans. Such was the case today. We were returning home after a meeting on the west side and this Joann's was in a strip mall where I needed to turn. So we made a quick stop. I actually had been in this store a while ago a few times; probably for the same reason. It has two floors packed with just about any kind of kraft materials you could want. Since we didn't feel like browsing, we asked where to find the patch materials we wanted and were given clear directions for where to find it on the second floor. We quickly found what we wanted and went back downstairs to check out. The store itself was a bit dated and could use some updating. But the selection of products is large and the staff were helpful and friendly. I just need to remember this location the next time I need patches!

We went into the Husqvarna Sewing Machine Gallery inside the Joanns, money in hand to buy a…read moremachine. When we arrived the sales lady was clearly busy, but didnt acknowledge us until we stood there for sometime. Trying to look at machines with carts and boxs stacked in the way. She asked us what we wanted, and then told us that she would be busy with this customer for more than an hour and she had an out of state appointment after that. She was very rude. She said we could look but we would have to return tomorrow. She didn't bother to move the carts or boxes so we could get to the machines to look at them. My husband finally moved things out of the way so I could look at the machines. She didn't apologize or acknowledge us after that. My husband and I decided to buy from somewhere else, an hour away. I understand completely if you're overwhelmed and cant help us. But you could be a little nicer about it and express to us that you're sorry you cant help us and offer to move things so I can at least look.
