About 15 of us in total from all across the U.S. I found him via Yelp from Austin, Texas where we live and he responded right away with availability, a reasonable quote, a sensible plan, the specs of the camera he planned to use, and thoughts on how to structure the session. He is super easy to communicate with. Our plan was Chautauqua and we were going to work with the snow if it was already falling as predicted by the forecast. His plan and professionalism far outshone his peers and I felt comfortable booking and sending a fairly large deposit even from afar. Unfortunately, the day before the shoot, my sister in law's house in Sagamore (town of Superior) burned to the ground along with the entire neighborhood. It's such a tragedy but at least no one was hurt and all of their animals made it out okay. It's been very traumatic. I reached out to say we'd have to cancel and Nick was cool about it. I then reached out to say that people wanted to take the photo anyway since we were all together. And Nick was cool about it. And then I reached out again to say people were too rattled to proceed. And Nick was cool about it. And throughout asked if he could be of any service with food, or water, or shelter. Ultimately, he refunded our deposit (in fact, that was his idea and he offered that right away) and the next time we are all together, I will use no one else. His portfolio is super impressive and I cannot wait to see his skills in action on our behalf, hopefully in 2022. In case you needed a reminder, there are good, rad, kind, generous people out there. And this one is a skilled photographer in Boulder.
