Listened to what I wanted to accomplish and offered effective suggestions for how best to make it happen! Started the project with a group prayer not only for the project and his team but also for the health and welfare of my family! Not your typical start to a project. Chris and team worked effectively to demo an 800 sq ft deck and rebuild it along a similar footprint in a short 3 weeks. They took great care to treat the place like it was their own and left it cleaner than they found it! Highly recommend this group for great work at an honest price! Chris' dog Rambler was a gentle giant and onsite frequently during the project. He was sweet and friendly while constantly curious!

Here's the gist of what I learned: about half of the contractors are honest.. they make the process fun and are a real pleasure to deal with; the other half are dishonest... they string you along, make the process a hassle, and are a real pain. Chris (the owner) and his team are a shining example of what great contractors SHOULD be. For starters, Chris is an extremely kind and responsive person. From my first phone call with him (he showed up the same-day, on a SUNDAY) to my projects completion day.. he always responded quickly, was extremely polite, and very thorough. (He never gives you those weak 2-word text responses like lesser contractors). Chris helped me design my deck and pick out the best materials for my needs. He used a 3D rendering software that shows you exactly how your deck is going to look in your backyard. It was actually really cool, and helped me make some tweaks to the design before starting construction. After signing my contract, his crew showed up the very next morning. These guys were absolute studs. They worked their butts off from 8am - 6pm every day until the job was complete... wow! Many days I work from home, so I was able to watch them. They didn't rush their work, they were very calculated and meticulous about doing the job the right way (a marathon not a sprint mentality). This doesn't mean they're slow, it means they care about the details and doing things right. His crew also isn't a bunch of 20 year old rookies playing on their phones either. These guys all look to be in their mid 30's and early 40's. Men with lots of experience.. they have families to feed, work extremely hard, and know what they're doing. The craftsmanship was phenomenal. The engineering very structurally sound. The design is beautiful and actually has my neighbors giving compliments. Anytime there was an issue during the project (and there weren't many), Chris and his crew fixed it immediately like it was no problem at all. Easy peasy. Chris did what he said he was going to do, when he said he was going to do it, and charged me what he said he was going to charge. Actually.. he went above and beyond what he said he was going to do, he made improvements to the project beyond what was promised, and even gave me a discount at the very end because of a few minor details.. which he didn't have to do. I didn't complain and I didn't request a discount...that's just the kind of guy he is. Incredible. I'm going to mention one last thing I was going to leave out but I think it's important. Every morning before work began, Chris gathers his crew and they do a group prayer together. They ask each other what's going on in their personal lives, and what they can pray for each other about. Then they read a short scripture out loud together, and they start their day. Unbelievably cool. Why do they call themselves Sasquatch? Because these guys are freaking beasts. This is one of those rare experiences where I had a feeling it was going to go well, and it turned out even better than I had imagined. There's a reason why they have so many 5 star reviews. If you're looking to have a deck built in Austin I'm going to help you... skip the weak fluff and go with Sasquatch.

Here is an example of it; after I wrote my review here is how (text messages) he approached me. Attacking a customers character is never good First off I have to say the work and speed that their crew delivered was great. We love everything that they did for us. We had a number of requests for them to: 1. Build a deck near our pool with cover 2. Replace our fencing to hide the pool equipment 3. New fence towards the back of our property In the photos you can see how great it turned out. Now where they lost their stars is in communication and dealing with conflicts. 1st issue - We had a dumpster provided that they subcontracted and had a number of issues. James gave my husband the phone number to contact dumpster company and "deal with the issue". As a customer all issues pertaining to a subcontractor that THEY hired should have been handled by them and not us. 2nd issue - some of the fence posts they installed warped and we asked for them to come repair. We had to text and call about 10 times! We were given dates that someone would show up and then no one showed up and no communication about 5 times. Continuous calling and text had to occur with the same result. Then random out of the blue one day someone showed up to fix the fence and once again no communication to inform us they were coming nor after to check how the repair went. This process was extremely frustrating and clear that dealing with conflicts isn't their forte.

So I sent out my project request through Yelp and this company was one of the responses I received. Scheduling a visit proved to be challenging. Their AI bot was responding to the point that I was frustrated. Eventually I answered that their scheduling didn't work for me. At that point, a person intervened and told me the AI bot took over and gave me a date that worked for me. She said a confirmation was forthcoming. When I responded ok, the bot seemed to take over again. I believe the date and time I was given was a Thursday at noon because the Wednesday at noon was unavailable. But I didn't receive a confirmation. So Wednesday comes around and I'm not expecting anyone. I'm working from home in pajamas when the doorbell rings. I scramble to get dressed when I realize this person isn't leaving and might be one of the companies I scheduled. I came outside and received a friendly greetings. I apologized for being delayed and explained that I was expecting them the next day. I opened up the gate and we spent about ten minutes going over what I wanted. I was advised that I would be sent an estimate probably the following day. I never received an estimate. The writing was all over the walls. The people I dealt with were nice, but the situation with the AI bot and not getting a quote back, unfortunately didn't inspire confidence.

In January, I researched several companies to complete the installation of a patio on my new home…read more I wanted to design a composite deck that would stand the test of the years, and found two companies in San Antonio offering the installation services I required. After reviewing the company's website, I decided to go with Texas Remodeling Pros as I did like the photos of the work they had recently completed. Their salesman Michael arrived to my home and assessed the size of the upcoming operation. It seemed like a fairly easy process to design and Michael and I discussed my payment options. I consider myself intelligent and am not trying to be ignorant or obtuse about how Michael and I discussed what payment options were available and how I could lower the price. As a veteran, Michael offered me a veteran's discount that took the price down from $11,366 to $9,093. He then stated that if I paid in Cash, I could save an additional savings that would bring my total down to $8525 if I didn't use my Credit Card. I jumped at the opportunity to save more as the company offered financing, credit cards and a payment of a check as a way to pay. Last week, I made my first deposit from my bank account where the money was debited from my checking's account. When the final payment was requested of $4500 yesterday, I questioned Evan as to why I wasn't given my Cash discount because I paid the money from the cash out of my checking's account. She began to speak quickly about me not paying "All Cash" for my deposit. She stated arrangements were not made to come and pick up the cash from my home. I quickly informed her that no one from Texas Remodeling Pros informed me that they needed to come and pick up CASH from my home for me to get the required Cash Discount. I was quite upset that I felt I was deceived a bit and wanted my discount . Because she had to leave for the day, I did not want to argue back and forth with Evan. I have never had a company require me to pay "All Cash" for a discount, especially when I didn't use my credit card for my initial payment. I write this review so that any other customer seeing an "All Cash discount" is not bamboozled like I felt I was yesterday. While I enjoy looking at my patio, I didn't enjoy the trash the workers left on my property while they were working. I did reach out to the company and they did rectify the issue immediately, but they should encourage their vendors to respect a customer's home at all times. Also, I would highly recommend getting multiple bids when utilizing this company. I also considered them for my front circle driveway, but quickly dropped them from the running after a 115K bid was presented to me. I even informed Michael that I had 3 Bids in the 40's and he stated that he was the best... (Yeah OK...) didn't go with them.... While it's cute, nothing about the patio screams $9000, especially with the few materials that were delivered to complete the construction. All in all, I just recommend you question everything they say and look at the fine details of your contract. Due to interactions during the payment process, I can't recommend at this time .
