From what I have experienced, the service you get with David's Bridal largely depends on which store you go to and which stylists you work with. Up until meeting Colleen, Theresa, and Vivian at the St. Peters location, I had had just awful experiences with David's Bridal. I won't get into the details, but to make a long story short, the aforementioned three people helped straighten out the mess that two previous David's Bridal stores created. Colleen listened to my thoughts about what I was looking for and let me choose which dresses I'd like to start with while discussing my preferences. She was friendly and super patient and didn't try to pressure me to buy something I didn't really feel all that excited about. I was not rushed, and they even did a really cute ring the bell photo session with a sign once I found the dress I wanted. After picking my dress with Colleen, Theresa took the time to gather all of the details and help me through the process for what to expect from there on out. I am so glad that I decided to come here! It really changed my overall impression of David's Bridal. I recommend scheduling a bridal dress appointment when they are least busy to get the best service possible. Call them ahead of time and ask them when their least busy times are and reserve an appointment for that day and time. I know that stylists get a commission for dresses purchased in-store, but I recommend that if you are extremely indecisive as I was in the beginning, either order your dress online or talk to the store manager about possibly getting at least a few days to change your mind and bring your dress back for a full refund (not just in-store credit). I know they state that there is a no return policy for in-store purchases, but I find this extremely unfair for brides who are just starting out in the dress search and are not really sure what they are looking for or haven't really had much time to process their big-purchase decision. Just mention to the manager that if you are not allowed to get at least a few days to return the dress that you buy in-store (of course, the dress must be in the exact condition it was purchased if you are taking it home from the store) or cancel an in-store order they placed online, you will simply opt to order the dress online yourself. They can make a choice at that point what they are going to do that's best for YOU as the customer (and for their stylists). read more

Went to the store located in St. Peters, MO. I was looking for a dress for an upcoming family wedding. The woman at the supposedly "welcome desk" was incredibly aloof and rude. When she asked if I would be trying anything on, I responded "If I see something I like". She actually rolled her eyes. I left. Would not go there again even if the dress was free. read more

I received a call from David's Bridal after they read my review. They asked if I would like to work with the manager of the alteration department and I declined. They wanted to make it right so I asked for a refund for the cost of the hemming. I had to take to another seamstress to correct. They did refund the cost for the hemming so I do thank them for that. I would not recommend getting alterations done there. read more

I got a $99 dress from Davids because I'm a bride on a budget. Suuuuuch a bad idea. I ended up buying a second dress from Clarices for $150 that is way better. Also, David's quoted me a lot for alterations, I don't remember how much but it was way cheaper at Jeanies in wentzville and she did an amazing job for $120 for the sides being taken in, cup size change, and a bustle. AWFUL. I was there for nearly 2 hours and not once did someone offer to help me. I finally found my bridesmaid dress by myself, and I went to pay... waited another 15 minutes before I finally CALLED the store to get someone to come up front! Then, I find out I can order the same dress online and get it shipped a month earlier than what they are offering. I asked if there was anything they could do since going through the store meant commission for them. The woman checking me out, Tammy, said "Well I'm the manager so I can't do that for you." I tried to walk away, but my bridesmaid didn't understand the issue was not resolved and went through with the payment. I am SICKENED by the terrible customer service. The manager and her staff should be ashamed. Thanks for RUINING my day and making me feel unimportant for the MOST important day of my life. #YouSuck read more

Selection slim to none, not a single dress that would fit me fully. basically self service. I picked the dresses for myself and put them on myself with the help of my friend. Stylist was nice but definitely not a bridal experience at all! The AC was broke so it was ungodly hot. Save yourself time and go to an ACTUAL bridal store it is definitely worth it if you have the funds. This is like the Walmart of dress stores. Your experience will be so much better elsewhere. David's bridal is not what it used to be. Wish I wouldn't have stopped foot in this sad excuse of a store. Complete waste of time. read more

My sister just left from here and I'm absolutely disgusted at the service she was given. I referred her to this company because they are well known and I actually bought my dress from this exact location MANY years ago. I wish I wouldn't have sent her there. Luckily for the management I wasn't able to accompany my sister due to work. So, writing this review is all I can do as a warning to the establishment of their service and future brides looking for a blissful consultation. You will not find that here. Instead you will find over worked specialist assisting multiple brides at a time. Leaving brides for at least 15 minutes a time, to zip each other's dresses is the type of service you will get and that was experienced by my sister today. I personally will never refer this place to anyone else and by the looks of the previous reviews I have read other brides have had unexpected encounters as well. They have inventory during this difficult time otherwise would shop elsewhere. Have had some great stylist, and some that didn't want to sell me anything. Inconsistent seems to be the norm. They rudely turned me away when I asked to browse - they were not busy. Then welcomed my daughter under same circumstance. Ordered dress in size I tried on that didn't match sample at all. During that process the dress was discontinued. Was led to believe alterations are included, then learned cost is about same as dress price (one of their expensive ones at that). Can't trust anything. And the returns window is ridiculously short considering the struggle to get the right size and communication challenges. read more

I just wanted to say that Sarah @ the St. Peters, MO location is absolutely amazing. I went it on a whim (on a busy Saturday), with hopes of finding a different wedding dress then the one I already had. I just wasn't feeling great in it and wanted to see what other options there were. Keep in mind, this was exactly ONE WEEK before my wedding day. Sarah helped me and my mom so much. She didn't make me feel bad about the fact I was changing my mind last minute. She had an appointment cancelation and was able to help me try on dresses. ***received no response from David's Bridal**** I was having a difficult time finding shoes for my wedding. I thought why not match my bridesmaids dresses. It was an online only purchase and no returns. I went in to the store because customer service said an associate would be able to help with picking the right size. I did so and ordered the size I was recommended. I had the shoes dyed and they looked awesome! I rushed to open the box and walk around the house in my wedding shoes! .........they didn't fit and are too tight. I was crushed. I thought going to the store would have avoided this situation. Customer service pretty much told me I am stuck with the shoes even thought I went to them for help. I do not recommend going to them for ANY help. As the store does not do anything for their associates making a mistake. Now I am stuck with an uncomfortable, but pretty, shoe and have to decide if I'm going to cut something out of my wedding to order another pair or just deal with it. If I could give zero stars, I would. While I understand that David's generally operates on an appointment schedule, I would expect to be at least greeted upon entry, or at a bare minimum within a reasonable amount of time. My bridal party and I were attempting to look at dresses and were not so much as acknowledged in the first 40 minutes we were there. After making the determination that the service would be non-existent, we went to another bridal shop, were promptly greeted, and purchased our dresses. Would not waste my time on this place. Customer service and common courtesy are pretty basic, and David's doesn't even meet 'basic'. read more

She grabbed all of the dresses that the bride had pulled off the rack and put them back because our assigned stylist was not there to assist us yet. I came here with my best friend to help her find her dress. The first time we came in the lady Colleen was absolutely wonderful. She made us feel so welcome and really helped us out to find the perfect dress. We came in later so all of us bridesmaids could find our dresses. This is where it went downhill. No one was there to help us, and the place wasn't even that busy. No one was there to answer our questions. If I actually got the chance to ask one we were just given an eye roll and then passed off to someone else. Throughout the entire process of picking out a dress, alterations, and making sure everything was perfect it was a nightmare. Basically with the exception of the one stylist that was awesome the rest of them suck! They do not care about customer service or customer satisfaction. It was just a horrible experience. I would give zero stars if I could. Appointment at noon. I was there early. They didn't even grab me until 12:45 and my appointment was at 12. The woman who was supposed to be my consultant would barely speak to me, didn't listen to anything I said, and ha fed me a dress to try on that wouldn't even go over my butt. Left in tears at how terribly I was treated. I do t understand how or why this Walmart if weddings is in business. Went to a local shop and found a dress in no time with great service for as good, if not better price. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away. read more

I have been a bridesmaid a few times and David's bridal is the best experience I've had bridesmaid dress shopping. I came the first time with ALL of the other bridesmaids. It was chaotic but our associate was very helpful for all of us and helped everyone find dresses we liked. I bought a dress and it came in within about 4 weeks. So fast!! About 2 months later, I found out I was pregnant! I called David's bridal and they were so accommodating. I showed up on a random Sunday and they were AMAZING! Theresa helped me find the right dress, pick the right size, and explained everything about alterations. The team made me feel like I was the number one priority and definitely didn't make the pregnancy seem like like a burden at all. It was a great experience and I'll refer everyone to this store! The lady at the front desk Vivian was nothing but helpful! One year later, I stepped into the same store...now as a Matron of Honor to assist my BFF with her Wedding Dress. But, the young lady that helped me, I think her name was Melanie, one of the seamstresses as well, the Bride and my bridal party all on the same day was awesome! Fast & knowledgeable. When I had to come back because there was a problem with one of my bridesmaids dressed, two young ladies, took care of it as fast as they could, Tammy & Emily. When my slip did not arrive in time for the photo shoot this weekend, they AGAIN took care of me. Keep in mind, every time I came in there it was crazy busy. I like this location. read more

I went in today with my mom and cousin--with no appointment--searching frantically for bridesmaid dresses for my wedding in August because the ones we ordered from a different retailer on line didn't work out. Colleen stepped in and was SO helpful. She listened to my concerns, to what I was looking for and found us exactly what we are looking for. My overall experience at this store was pretty good. I purchased my daughters wedding dress, my younger daughters bridesmaid dress, their shoes and accessories from this store. The sales associates were helpful and when both of my daughters went in for alteration fittings the seamstresses were wonderful. It wasn't until my oldest daughter went in for her final bridal dress fitting that we incountered an unfriendly not very helpful employee. My biggest complaint may seem petty but after spending a couple of thousand dollars at this store they would not let me return two small photo bouquet frames with my receipt. I certainly understand a no return policy on a dress but a couple of frames in a package seems ridiculous to me! They got me in, they got me out. I tried on dresses and was hustled out the door when I decided on a dress, but they didn't have my size in stock. The seamstress was also trying to sell me alterations more expensive than the dress, that would have left my boobs looking lopsided. (I know enough about sewing to know that you have to let out both sides of a dress to make it even). They get 2 stars instead of 1, because I did end up buying my dress from David's Bridal. I just ordered in online and shipped no problem. David's is really like the Wal-Mart of wedding dresses, so keep that in mind when you shop. read more

I recently went to this location to try on wedding dresses. After a fabulous experience at the Columbia, Missouri location I was excited to see what the St. Peter's location had to offer. Upon arriving, I was greeted by my assigned consultant (Alex) and she very quickly helped me find several dresses that were my style. My appointment was at 5:00 and the store was very busy. My consultant was going back and forth between two parties, but at the beginning she made an effort to help me change out dresses and lace up when she could. After about 45 minutes though, everything changed. My consultant left me to ring up her other client. I understand that she works on commission, but she never told me where she was going. I tried on the final dress with no help from any David's Bridal employee. After I changed back into my street clothes we waited for 45 MINUTES at the back of the store waiting for my consultant to come back to us. Not only did she never return, but no other employee ever said anything to us or asked if we needed anything. I have never experienced such horrible customer service. Finally I gave up, wrote down the dresses I was interested in and took the list to my consultant who was now helping a different bride. When I approached her I received no apology. Instead she asked if I needed anything. I was appalled that not only did she abandon me, but that she seemed to not even remember who I was. No bride deserves to be treated that way when she is shopping for her wedding dress no matter where she is shopping. read more

My first experience at davids was great, that was for another girls wedding and that's the only reason they are getting 2 stars. My bridesmaid dress appointment was going well until she told me the dress that i had picked- one that she brought out for me to look at, was discontinued in my wedding color. I had specifically asked her to make sure of this. When we got to the register for one of my bridesmaids to order her dress she told me she had made a mistake. I do believe this poor girl felt bad, but it was her job to be sure of what she was telling me and she was extremely wrong. I Wish there were a zero star option. This location is a huge disappointment. I am a bride and I scheduled an appointment while at a bridal expo to come here and shop for bridesmaids dresses. Now let me start by saying that I know in the scheme of a wedding bridal gown shoppers are more of a priority then Bridesmaids dresses but as as a potential customer it doesn't matter what you're coming to shop for everyone should be treated nicely and being paid attention to. I scheduled this appointment months in advance and when I got there and checked in the lady who checked us in was very short and rude and we went and pulled dresses our arms were so weighed down with dresses because we had been waiting about 25 minutes when I went and checked in again and she said well I thought she was with you I'm like no I haven't even been introduced to a sales rep yet so finally we get someone and she brings along a manager after I was trying to explain what I was looking for and it seemed like a little too complicated for her but the manager was pretty dismissive and did not even seem to really grasp what I was trying to convey it seems pretty simple to me that I wanted my maid of honor and a long red gown and I wanted my Bridesmaids in gold sequin gowns but I guess that is complicated. We did not really get a designated area we kind of got shoved back in a corner and had no mirrors to really look in except the ones that are on the doors of the dressing rooms. The sales rep nor the manager really checked in with us very much or helped out and every single person who was in my party that day was severely disappointed it has been the worst wedding experience thus far and I would not recommend this David's bridal to my worst enemy read more

Went here for my sister after trying to talk her out of it. Didnt have good experience with the sales girls when I got married. She too had to learn the hard way. The second time we went in she wanted to just relook at the dress she might get and they caused us a problem with that just cause we didnt have an appointment. Finally got someone to help us and give us our info. Couple days later we went to the other store with an appointment and all of a sudden my sisters info was deleted out of the system. She had to start over. Eventually on another day she found a dress that I think she settled for telling her she could add straps. Dress came in and she wanted to try it so on phone girl made appointment with tailor but alterations lady got mad we made an appointment not to be ready to do anything to the dress. Now she is just settling with what she has. I also have tried on dresses and picked her bridesmaid dress, but when I went back in to pick the final dress that information as well had not been entered in the system. So not looking forward to having to buy a dress with this company. read more
