This review is mainly for their service. Not a local from here and never been to a David's Bridal before, which can be overwhelming. I needed measurements for a custom dress, so I called and spoke with Jensen over the phone. She said they could only do 3 basic measurements: hips, bust and waist. Soo...she referred me to Von Maur, which I really appreciate. She's an Angel and helped me tremendously. When I went in, there were many customers trying on dresses and getting dresses, which is always a good sign. I hope more good things come to this spot and to Jensen! Went into David's bridal to look for a prom dress, I had been searching everywhere for one so I was hoping o could find something... I go over to this rack where all the dresses are, it dosen't say anything on it its right next to all the other racks and I didn't think anythin. some girl with shorter lengt/ medium length crimped brown hair in a half up half down style comes up and takes the dress out of my sisters hands and starts freaking out saying "THOSE ARE ALL CUSTOME ORDERS!!!" And she continues to get angry even though they are with all the other dresses...? they also have the most outrageously expensive prices. read more

Communication and timing when it comes to the alterations department. Dropped a dress off weeks in advance to the month that was stated that they were running a month out. I showed up after stated date that I was given to pick up. Nothing was done. Language barrier - apparently could not understand what a fellow coworker that marked on my dress. Could have called coworker or myself to come back to the bridal shop to show alterations what needed to be done. I showed up 3 days later to pick my dress up. I cannot speak for buying anything. Reviews are not good not only on yelp but also Google. I would go to a small business if you need simple dress altered. Cannot speak for bridal gowns. read more

BEWARE!! I went to this store to order a dress two weeks ago. They did not have it in store so they did an online order and shipped to my house. They did not warn me about their horrible return policy. I placed the order on Jan 4 and I Guess they only people a week to return (by Jan 11) but I didn't receive the dress until January 15th. How can I return something that has not even arrived at my home? How can I return something I have not even tried on? The next option is to do an exchange. I declined because there is not anything I'd like to exchange the dress for and I would not be giving them any more of my business. An absolutely awful policy. I am so disappointed and I will worn anyone and everyone to never give David's Bridal their business. Horrible business. read more

This place has the worst policies and customer service. Timeline and story below: 03/19/22 Engaged 05/24/22 Wedding Day - falls within a previously scheduled vacation! 03/26/22 Picked Out Dress - Had to order due to the fact the display had a snag on the backside. Concerned about shipping timeframe PLUS alteration timeframe and was reassured the timeline would be fine 04/05/22 Called regarding order status and was told the dress would ship in the next couple days. 04/17/22 Text from David's saying the dress was in 04/18/22 I called to see what the alteration schedule would be if I came in this week and was told no less than 5 weeks. 5 weeks would make it the week of the wedding and it's out of town (by plane). Impossible. 04/21/22 Made the decision to return the dress to inventory at the store but was told they had a 7-day refund policy, and I am not able to get a refund. The rule is that I needed to cancel my order within 7 days of purchase even though I didn't have dress in hand, nor did I know about the long lead time for alterations. They would not budge on this. They said if I came in this Saturday (mind you, the store is an hour away from home and I still have things to do) they might be able to get the alterations done by 04/21 - 2 days before we board a plane and 3 days before the wedding! The other option is to get store credit...I said yes maybe I'll do that...oh but no! I will have to go to the store to get store credit. What kind of policies are these? The dress is $200. I think it's worth not even dealing with these folks again. Next stop Better Business Bureau. read more

Mom ordered her MOB dress and there was a a small split in the dress when it came in on the back of the zipper and they could not fix it, but offered us a full refund we didn't want a refund because it was to close to our wedding date . So we kept the dress and instead they offered us a free hem they were initially gonna charge us 60$ . It's always about showing you care . read more

I went to return flower girl dresses today and the lady was like sorry you have to return within 7 days of getting them. Umm excuse me I was never told this normally you have 60 to 90 days to return something. Not happy at all. I would never recommend anyone to get anything from here. read more

This was a rough experience. I came in to look at some wedding dresses and I asked if I could go try a few on with my matron of honor. The ladies looked at us completely shocked but their environment does not say high end. This led us to think it most likely was okay. They then said someone could actually help me and I agree to it. I thanked them and they said it wasn't a problem. The lady they assigned my matron of honor and I to, was finishing up with a bride. She never came back and left my matron of honor to put me in the dresses. After doing a few I said it isn't worth it and had her try on bridesmaids dresses. Finally the lady came back and apologized for what happened. It was nice that she apologized yet it seems that their reputation stays the same. Everyone knows David's Bridal in Fort Wayne as the place that apologizes but doesn't change their actions. It seems as though they have a bad reputation for being unprofessional and like they just don't care. They also take on way more than they can handle which leads to bad customer service. read more

This store is good to go to if you are simply looking for product, not service. I have dealt with this particular store for two different weddings and have had similar experience for both. The staff is not very friendly and often seem rushed and only looking to get to their bottom line. (ie, money.) The selection of items is fairly decent and if you know what you want or what you are looking for it could work for you. I have been in many times to try on dresses and only once have I ever been able to get an actual consultant to assist us with searching for dresses and bringing them to the fitting room. We were on our own. When in for a final decision and purchase our consultant was very visibly agitated...trying to rush us through the process and even trying to hurry our purchase by suggesting we by dresses that didn't fit. I have even witnessed consultants making ill-mannered comments about the weight of one plus-sized bride. I cannot say much against the selection of gowns & dresses...as they do have a decent selection and what they don't have in store they can generally order. However, the service and attitude topped with the inflated prices isn't worth it in my opinion. read more

We purchased my daughter's wedding dress here and I want to warn anyone considering a purchase to beware. They charge a lot for their add on items, but the alterations were both expensive and terrible! We had to have them redone by a private seamstress as well as additional ones that they didn't include. They offered to add the wedding dress preservation for 189.00 which I declined. I later found the same item online from them for $99! read more

I bought my wedding gown from there last year at this time staff was friendly and helpful the dress was a little over priced but it was beautiful I really loved it !! Until I took it to my cousins house and after keeping it there they had a house fire my dress substained smoke damage I was divistated I thought my wedding would be ruined so I call David's to see if they could help me they said sure bring it in and we will dry clean it for you well I was relieved hahaha I take it in so it can be cleaned a total nightmare the lady aka manager told me my dress was burnt and nothing would fix it I told her I guess I'll walk to my husband like I stepped out of the gates of hell they proceeded to laugh at me like it was a joke to finish the story my dress was cleaned no burns just smoke sunshine laundry on west Jefferson done an amazing job! We had an appointment to go in and look for a bridal gown and bridesmaid dresses. Our consultant, Sam, was not at all helpful and was getting pulled in 5 different directions because they were so busy. She kept telling us what a great deal we would be getting if we bought our bridesmaid dresses the same day. She was very insistent about buying everything together on the same day because the sale would be ending soon. Long story short, we picked out a bridesmaid dress that was priced at $99 and Sam proceeded to tell us what a great deal we were getting and it would end up only being $79. Wow, what a great deal! We looked around a bit more and finally went to check out. We had been there for 3 1/2 hours and were tired and ready to leave. I was the last to check out and was surprised to see that my total was $139 and a different dress had been ordered. I figured the bride had settled on different bridesmaid dresses. Whatever, no big deal. I paid and left. Big mistake. I should have not assumed Sam had done her job. The next day, we all touched base and the bride realized that the wrong dresses had been ordered and that we were supposed to have actually gotten the $79 dress. When she questioned Sam on the phone, Sam told her that she had said a different dress was $79, not the one that we needed to be ordered. Myself and the two other bridesmaids have spoken with the store and have been told we must pay full price for the dress because Sam insists she said it about a different dress. This is also after the bride had to argue with Sam to get her to admit she had ordered the wrong bridesmaid dresses and get her to fix her mistake. It isn't that I am upset about how busy the store was or even that the wrong dresses were ordered. Stuff happens, right? The right dresses have been ordered now but we are all still a bit peeved about being quoted one price and then being made to pay another. Then to be told that all 4 of us are not being truthful about the dress that was actually quoted. Terrible way to business, if you ask me. What do I know though? I'm just a customer and, at David's Bridal, the customer is apparently always wrong. read more

I had made an appointment online. Chance and Valeri were extremely helpful and attentive, but neither pushy or overbearing. They kept my price range in mind with all options. I found my dress at this David's, but I live out of state and they are having my dress shipped for free to my house. I have had no alterations completed at this time, but I would recommend this David's Bridal, especially Chance and Valeri. read more

So my future sister in law got her dress there, it was beautiful, but when i went to go a dress for the wedding the employee gave us two dressing rooms and in the middle of trying on dresses she made us switch changing rooms. When we changed the dressing rooms we didn't see our helper anymore after that. read more

I bought my wedding dress from here in August for my April 2018 wedding. My experience when buying my dress was okay, customer service was not terrible, but I was on a tight budget and felt pressured to buy everything from their store. Also, the "quote" the sales woman gave us for alterations ended up being like a third of what they actually cost. For example she said, "oh it will be $10 to add straps to your dress", in reality the material alone was $48. At my first alterations appointment I worked with Lauren (who was great). When I went back in 4 weeks to pick up the dress I was horribly disappointed - Lauren who pinned my dress, and who we thought did the alterations, was not there. I had spent $354 for alterations and nothing that was done to the dress was done correctly. The lady I worked with at my second fitting appointment, who turned out to be the alterations manager Janet, was horribly rude and not helpful. My mom was down on the ground attempting to fix parts of my dress that we were not happy with, while Janet just watched. My mom does not sew, therefore she had no idea what she was doing, but Janet did nothing to offer us assistance. Her suggestions were to use double sided tape or use safety pins to bustle my dress! My mom and I went home that night in tears and we had no trust in anyone at David's Bridal. I did not feel comfortable with my dress being there any longer, so we ended up picking up my dress the next day. The store manager was then also rude as we asked for a refund due to my dress and alterations not being what I paid for. The manager stated that everything on my receipt had been done to the dress, therefore a refund was not elicited. My mom also questioned why we had to pay up front and her response was "that's just how our ticket system runs." I do not feel we should have to pay for a service up front that has not been completed! And come to find out - the seamstress who pins the dress is NOT who sews the dress and then they are NOT who is at your next fitting. There is NO consistency in the alterations department. They say "we all pin the same and we all sew the same", but that obviously cannot be true. In the end, I ended up taking it to a sweet alterations lady in Rome City (and will pay to have my dress altered again). Once I took it there I found out that David's Bridal had actually NOT done everything that was on my receipt - they had taken the dress in in wrong places and had not even TOUCHED the outer layer of lace material. She even questioned how I got into the dress because they had taken it in SO much in the wrong places - places that had already been tight in the beginning! What was on my receipt and what had been done to the dress were NOT the same. My mom and I have contacted the corporate office and they too will not give us the time of day regarding a refund. $354 to this corporation is equivalent to a penny for them, but it is a lot of money for me while I still have other wedding bills to pay! They are rude and their customer service is awful. We will NEVER refer another friend to David's Bridal in the future. Your wedding dress is the highlight of your big day and David's Bridal has turned mine into a nightmare. read more

Went with my granddaughter to shop for wedding dress. The girl that had to help her help her with 3 dresses then left to help others. We had an appointment for 1 1/2 hrs. Was in on wednesday tried dresses on for almost a hour and found one that had a clearance tag attached for 39.99. Absolutely loved the dress went to check out the dress rang up at 159.00 and they refused to give me the clearance tag price. I would of never tried it on if I knew it was going to cost 159.00. Extremely disappointed and will never shop here again. I shop a lot for dresses due to Pageants. read more

I loved Angie helping me get my wedding dress! I went to her 2 days and was there a couple hours each time with her. But we had fun and ended up finding my dress!!!!! You can tell she loves her job & people. And I was glad I got Angie as my consultant after booking my appointment at the Bridal Show. I went there for wedding dress shopping yesterday. I had a fairly large group of very opinionated women and david's was more than happy to accomodate them and all their opinions. Our consultant was very busy and at one point even had 2 brides to deal with but was still able get me in and out of dresses in a timely manner and was very good at suggesting dresses for me to try on. All of the other consultants were very helpful too. The kept coming over and suggesting things and answering questions. Not only was I trying on dresses but my flower girl and one of my bridesmaids were trying on their dress as well. My consultant worked very hard to keep us happy and she did a very good job especially considering that I went in with an "I would like to try them all on" attitude. I tried on at least 20 dresses or more as we were there for 4 hours. The day ended with me finding "the one" which was one that my consultant had picked for just for fun. The only complaint I had was that she was not very focused on my wedding date and order time. After I had picked my dress and fell in love with it, she comes to me telling me that the soonest it can come in is June 4th...My wedding is June 9th. But I ordered it anyway because if I walked out of there knowing that I didn't try to get that dress, I would have been crushed. So now we are keeping our fingers crossed that it comes in on time!!! read more

The Fort Wayne David's Bridal has disappointed me on several occasions. Upon finding a dress for a wedding I am going to be in, I tried on several and settled on one that looked decent with the verification (multiple verifications) that the dress would come in the color that I needed. Upon checkout I was told that the dress did NOT come in my needed color. I then was told that I had to choose a different dress. So, disgruntled, I chose a dress that was similar to the one that I liked. Now, picking up my dress is a whole different issue. I picked up the dress, and thankfully decided to try it on when I got home because they ordered the incorrect dress for me. I called them right away and told them the issue. No apology, just a reorder. I tried telling them the issues that I've had, but I got dismissed. If you can afford to go to a different shop (preferrably a local shop) I would highly recommend that instead of dealing with the "I don't give a s***" attitude from David's Bridal. read more

I'm really upset with the treatment we had at David's Bridal. We went in on a Saturday morning to look for both a wedding dress for my sisters wedding and for bridesmaid dresses. My sister is a tomboy. She doesn't like to shop (even if it's for her wedding! Lol), so we wanted to get both dresses picked out so that portion of the wedding done. As soon as we walked in we were given a consultant. The first words out of her mouth was that they had a very busy day and that there were a ton of appointments. That should of been our first clue to how the day was going to go. She asked my sister her style, she explained what she was looking for and not looking for. After about 10 dresses my sister drastically changed her mind. No big deal. Right? It's HER day. The consultant got very frustrated. You could tell she wanted to get us in and out as soon as possible. She was rushing us. When I told her to go ahead and pick some dresses out, she came back with the most hideous, unflattering, grandma style dresses I've ever seen. My sister is 24, not 60! It was terrible. When my sister found the dress she wanted it was BEAUTIFUL. The consultant told her and my mom that it only came in a size 8, which I thought was weird. An 8 would not fit my sister, so we went back to looking. Finally my sister asked another consultant about the dress she loved. It in deed come in bigger sizes. We were all LIVID. Why did she tell her that they couldn't get a size bigger than an 8? To this day we have no idea. When it came to the bridesmaid dresses, she was equally bad. She didn't basically came up missing during this time and another consultant who was already helping a group stepped in and answered our questions. All in all, I'm disappointed with how our David's Bridal consultant treated my sister, myself and my mom. This was suppose to be a great day for my sister and she left frustrated and upset. Don't get me wrong, she was ecstatic that she found her dress, but after going through all that it was exhausting. read more

After spending months trying to get someone at David's Bridal to, not only help me with the sh*t treatment I received in the store, but with the dress they gave me with broken stiches, all it took was numerous , and I mean numerous emails to their corporate offices, and to negatively blast them all over the Internet with crappy reviews before someone did call. And, just like "Becky" who commented on my review on here, the woman who called couldn't even bother to get my name right, or she didn't care enough to. It's not that damn hard, it's 4 letters long, yet it's NOT Cora, and it's NOT Sierra...so after they called not long after I posted my first awful review of them on here, I told them to shove it if they can't even bother to get my name right, or they can't even bother to do something about their sh*t employees, the dress they gave me, and they way I was treated, when I first brought it up months ago when I was initially there. No, they chose to ignore me and brush me aside.....this place is a f*cking joke. read more

Im pretty upset with this david's bridal. I have been to this location only twice and with several years in between. I went to get a prom dress back in 2006 and a bridesmaids dress last month. Both times I was told the dresses would be ordered and be at the store a month out. in 2006 I didnt have it in time for prom because it got pushed back twice. I ended up having to get a different dress. This go round I bought it last month I was told it would be in the first week of april now into the second week I called to find out where my dress was and it was pushed back for arrival until the second week of may. Luckily my dress should be ready in time for my friends wedding but it's ridiculous. Don't tell your customers that there is a date and not even call when it gets switched. My friend was able to pick up the other bridesmaid dresses except mine and when she asked the lady was extremely rude about it. The consultant we had seemed extremely untrained and was rude to my friend about the dresses to begin with. I will NEVER buy a dress from there again which is sad for them since I have 4 weddings in the next 2 years that will be needing dresses for.
