I was given some education about the market space right now, which is tough, I admit. I subsequently asked for quotes from all carriers regardless of deductible amounts/coverage changes/etc so that I could make my own informed decision about how much risk I wanted to assume versus premium charged. Stephanie was quick to respond with reasoning as to why she didn't recommend doing that. I continued to ask for the information and she continued to respond without providing it. I finally called and spoke with Rochelle who understood my position and apologized, but said they do not want to be sued in the event of a claim and that providing the quotes would take too much time for them so she suggested I look for another agent. I suspect I'm ultimately likely to remain with my current carrier, but wanted to evaluate everything before deciding. The agency unfortunately was more interested in covering themselves than my needs as a consumer. I can't imagine they would ever go to the mat for me in a catastrophic situation, so I'll be looking for a new agency.
