You said that Danae had gotten my online inquiry and that she'd get back with. I stated that I wasn't trying to rush you and was patient because I want you to do the work. I reminded you that you said, "2 to 3 days (April 14) but it wasn't until April 24 that I got a concrete answer that you will not be doing the job. My contention isn't that you can't do the job, but that I wasn't given the courtesy to tell me that you weren't interested in providing the estimate nor would be able to do the job. If I hadn't called or inquired, I would never have gotten an answer at all. How could I give you a higher rating? You only came to look at the project. I can't grade you on quality, service or promptness because I have no reference point to go by. My review isn't harsh but simply stated as it happened. Danae seems to be the person who makes the decisions on which jobs to take. Maybe a conversation she be had with her if you don't want more reviews like mine.

Lee Williamson doing business as ELW Renovation and Repairs to renovate the bathroom in my Mr…read more Williamson started work on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, and said the project would be done by Wednesday, August 14, 2019. The contracted work included replacing the bathtub with new mosaic tile to make a working shower, installing new shower fixtures, installing a new toilet and installing a new sink faucet. This included the repair of all walls to their original condition. Mr. Williamson installed, glued and grouted defective tiles on the wall and floors. He used a faulty saw blade that made jagged tile edges. He replaced the blade but did not replace the tiles until I asked him to. He installed damaged mosaic floor tiles without inspecting them. When I asked him to replace the defective and damaged tiles, he did not align them flush with the wall or floor. I expressed concern that the floor tiles, which were higher than the surrounding surface, could cut my feet. I sent this to him in a text message on Tuesday, August 20, 2019. He did not reply. On Wednesday, August 21, 2019, Mr. Williamson arrived at 8 a.m. He deposited 9 remaining wall tiles on my floor. I asked him if he got my text, he said yes, and I asked him to check the floor tiles to determine if they were flush and would be of any danger when stepped on. He stayed in the bathroom appearing to inspect the work. I went into another room to work at my computer. At 8:16 a.m., I received the following text: Norma, I left all the extra tiles and would like for you to get someone else to finish the project. You don't owe me anything and I will send you $250.00 for the lampshade I broke. When I went to the bathroom to find him, all the tools and equipment had been removed, and Mr. Williamson was nowhere to be seen. I was in shock that he would quit without talking to me and quit without finishing the work he contracted to do. Mr. Williamson did not keep his contract. He did not install the shower wall and floor mosaic tiles properly. He designed and made two wall niches that are too small to be useful and will become moldy because no air can circulate, according to an expert. He abandoned the project, leaving me to find someone else who would pick up what he didn't finish. This is completely unethical behavior. As of this writing, it has been almost four weeks since I have not had the use of the shower. I am searching for another person to re-do his faulty work but so far have been unsuccessful. In addition, during the course of the project, he put heavy tools on the granite bathroom vanity counter without protecting the counter with a drop cloth, scratching the surface. He installed a heavy tile cutter in the bathroom along with industrial weight tools. I found two deep gouges on the granite sink rim that were not there before. He did not clean up and I've had extra expense for clean-up. Stay away.

After finalizing design and cost work began and project completed in record time. Tony and his staff were there when they said they would be on site. Progress status with photos provided daily and except for a weather delay all the work was done as promised. Tony is very knowledgeable, as I've been around construction my entire work career I am impressed with the quality of his work. It's excellent quality. Things could not have been any better. Tru-Bilt Construction (Tony) was super responsive to my initial call and within a day or two, came to check out project idea and make bid. Was best bid and most professional out of multiple and we went with Tru-Bilt. I only had rough plans for the deck we wanted and I needed to get the permits since I was finishing the deck. Tony took my rough plans and redrew to meet permit requirements as I am not a professional. He also calculated the lumber needed for the ENTIRE project, made the order for me, and worked with me so I could pay for lumber myself. Permits went smooth and they began as soon as they were approved. Tony and his crew arrived when planned and gave me regular status updates. He worked well with us on design changes as we went, patiently explained details of his build, and the best ways to move forward considering design changes. He also provided design ideas for railings and a sound barrier/privacy wall that I was finishing myself. Tony was super willing to share his knowledge and expertise even walking me through step by step how to lay down decking edges, deck board, etc. according to his pre-planned design to ensure it looked top notch and high end professionally built (I quickly discovered it was best to video when he was dropping build knowledge). From pouring of footings to fully framed deck, they were done in approx 4 days (not considering permit waiting time, footings dry time, etc). Wonderful company for DIY'ers who do not have time or energy to do the "heavy lifting" and want to do some of their own work. Tony was super patient and easy to work with, has an excellent crew, and we are super happy with the end result. Will difinetly use Tru-Bilt Construction (Tony and his crew) for future projects.

Nonetheless, our contact person Madeleine and her crew came out to assess our foundation and cracks and some mold from the humidity in the crawlspace. In the end we went with mold remediation, a sump pump, new vapor barrier, joist lifts, and air sealing to keep out the creepy crawlies. Big ticket expense, but when compared to the competition, we went with them because of the thoroughness with the estimate interview and the willingness to answer all of our questions, they were also well-spoken of on other review sites including a popular large community message board, and the price was pretty comparable. Also, the crew was very good. My only ding would be was not putting the items in the crawlspace back in the order that it was originally, which saved space. But to add to their credit, we have one additional project that needs to be done outside of Little Corner's scope and the new company took a look at Little Corner's work and said "They did a very good job, this is how we would have done it." I think that speaks well of them as a whole. They may not be the biggest company, but they are professional, kind, and diligent about their work. Thank you, Madeleine and crew.
