Estate sellers work hard, so I don't write negative reviews on them for things like pricing, hold table chaos, and other things. I just remember them if it's a pattern, and then choose to not go to their sales. I do want to highlight the ones who stand out though! We have had great experiences at the sales run by Burns Estate Liquidators. Here are some thoughts: Hold Tables: Multiple and well "guarded". Sold Cards: Before entering, staff explained how sold cards worked. There was no confusion on how to mark larger items you wanted to buy. Pricing: Day 1 pricing was fine. Estate sellers are trying to make money for the family and for the business. Some companies take that to the extreme. They forget they're also trying to encourage buyers to come and buy. Burns seemed to keep that three-pronged understanding at the forefront. Price Tags: Every item had a price tag. Bulk items had very clear signs with pricing. If you've been to these sales, you know how important knowing pricing is, without having to constantly find someone. Staffing: Six people ran a very large and involved sales like a streamlined machine. We have been impressed. This is a very business-savvy company, who clearly keeps their brand protection in mind when working. Other companies lose site of that sometimes. Live Streamers: Many estate sale companies are allowing live streamers to set up camp inside a home and have live auctions during the sale. It is absolutely annoying and seems disrespectful to the family. We haven't seen this at a Burns sale yet. We've been very pleased with Burns' sales and I hope this review helps families who are looking for a company, as well as buyers at future sales.

(Copied from my Lincoln warehouse review of JustBid)…read more I've recently discovered JustBid (FKA Prime Auctions) and it's been very helpful in saving money for some things my mom needs in her new residence. The vast majority of this inventory are returns, overstock, dead stock and damaged boxes. Once in a while you may find non Amazon inventory in brand new condition. Quality of products can be hit or miss since you're basically buying products sight unseen from Amazon without the benefit of return guarantees. The website categorizes items (New, Open Box, Pre-owned, Incomplete, Damaged), but it's "buyer beware" so you have to be diligent. Calculation tip: factor in the 15% + $2 fee, then sales tax per item before bidding. There are various rules in play when it comes to claiming your items so be sure to read and understand the FAQ. One rule to emphasize is appointment times and deadlines. Don't delay making an appointment once it gives you the clearance to do so. Appointment times fill up quickly and if you miss it, you forfeit your purchase without refund and a penalty fee. Also be sure to come within 15 minutes of your appointment time. They cannot accommodate early arrivals or extremely late arrivals. Of course I learned this the hard way. Bring your own tape and box cutter to the warehouse so you can inspect your haul on-site. If there's an issue, you need to email them immediately. Make sure you have everything that you came for and that they are in the condition listed. The company gives you a short window regarding disputes and returns. It's a bit of work, but the savings can be worth it.

We walked into JustBids already bracing for friction…read more For anyone who hasn't been: this isn't a wander-around-and-browse type of place. It's a warehouse pickup system. You win your auction online, you pay, then you show up and they go pull your item from the back. In theory, smooth. In practice, dependent on systems behaving. We were trying to return something, and of course -- a brand-new program update had just rolled out. What used to be "return to any location" is now "return only to the original store." And we found this out mid-transaction. Sean had to be at work. We were on a clock. The math was not mathing. This is where Alex comes in. Instead of defaulting to "that's the policy," he actually worked the problem. Checked the system. Asked questions. Double-checked options. Explained what changed without sounding defensive about it. He was helping other customers in between assisting us, but never once made us feel like we were in the way or slowing him down. That balance? Not easy. He kept the energy steady -- friendly without being fake, conversational without losing focus. You could tell he takes pride in doing things correctly. And somehow, despite a system change that even he had just learned about, he found a way to make it right that day. No unnecessary runaround. No attitude. Just effort. Parking here is usually... a competitive event. I've circled that lot before like I was hunting prey. But this particular day? Shockingly calm. We got a spot quickly, which felt like the universe cooperating for once. The warehouse itself runs efficiently. You check in, they retrieve, you're out. It's not glamorous -- it's functional -- and that's the point. The only real note is that the new return policy probably needs clearer communication so customers aren't caught mid-surprise. But honestly? The way Alex handled it overshadowed the inconvenience. We'll keep coming back. We always do. We somehow accumulate an unreasonable number of trinkets and "why did we bid on this?" treasures from here. Alex deserves recognition. When frontline staff choose to problem-solve instead of policy-shield, it changes the entire experience. If you see him at the desk, you're in good hands. (Btw some of the items I have purchased were under 3.00 so the value is out of this world . Totally worth it .)

Having had to put my mum in memory care and having our family home with over 55 years of collectibles and 'stuff' inside, was incredibly daunting for me. I need to sell the house to pay for my mum's care, but getting to that point was overwhelming to me. Heather is patient, kind, professional, and extremely organized. She and her crew got the estate sale prepped in one day and in one weekend, most all of the contents in the home were sold. Wow! She also helped to arrange another company that she partners with to do a clear-out of what was left, including some heavy furniture. I was left with a totally cleared out home and extra money in my pocket to put towards fixing up the home to sell. What an amazing company in a difficult time of need. A true godsend and I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you Heather and River City Liquidators!!!
