I cannot speak highly enough of Peter and his team…read more After having a disastrous problem on my engagement and wedding ring (with the jeweller next door), I went to see them, both shaken up and nervous. Basically, my wedding band needed a half shank change + size reduction. Basically, some pretty heavy work. Needed to cut the ring in half and replace the shank (which had been damaged and filed down to half its size by another jeweller). It was a big job and he knew how panicked and uncertain I was. Not that I didn't trust him, but because I didn't have a great experience with the other one. Peter was very sweet but still very professional. I felt that he knew and understood how I was feeling and was ready to work hard to make up for someone else's mistakes. After coming back with my husband, we both felt comfortable giving him my engagement ring and wedding band for them to be resized and for the band to be cut in half to replace the shank. Due to the past experience, I was very nervous during those days, because those rings are important to me like they would be for any young bride. Fast forward a couple days later, I came back and the wedding band was looking perfect. I cannot tell that it's just been cut in half and put back together with another half shank. It looks absolutely immaculate. Of course, both rings were resized as well and they fit just perfectly. As the rings were bought in the US (14 carat), he had to work with 18 carat for the half shank which also adds value to the ring. In total I paid £200 for the job of resizing both and replacing the shank. Was it worth it? YES. I am so happy I trusted Peter and his team. It is an expensive price of course, but the rings are perfect and the job was perfectly well-done. I cannot thank them enough for what they did. Apart from the moral support they provided, they had excellent service. During my time in their shop, a lot of people came in and out and a lot of them seemed perfectly happy with the service. As for the jewellery selection: They have a lot of everything. You can find watches, rings, bracelets, and many more. All of their products seem to be good quality, great style for a reasonable price. More importantly, I think that buying with them would be a good choice because they are very professional people. Thank you very much to Sinclair for fixing both of my rings and being so nice.

Workmanship for the repair job I entrusted them with was ultimately satisfactory; however,…read moreextremely tardy service, poor process and expectation management, and seemingly arbitrary pricing combined to create a frustrating and disappointing experience.

Charlie's rock shop might rock your world (ehem...sorry.)…read more Charlie (at least I assume the bloke behind the till was *the* Charlie) was happy and friendly even though we wandered in on a horrible rainy day. My friend wanted to come here because she bought her favourite pair of earrings here yeears ago...so we came in for a bit of a mooch. This place is full of interesting jewellery- some of it was gorgeous/ some of it was not really to my taste. BUT Jewellery is always a very personal thing to choose - so maybe other yelpers'd like the things I cringed at. There was also a large selection of different minerals and gemstones for sale...so this place would make any collector of stones happy. I bought a couple of pairs of pearl earrings with Stirling silver backs (for £6 each!!) and left very happy.

This shop will show you some beautiful geology. They have items from £2 to £200 of sheer beauty. Gorgeous necklaces, rings and other jewellery is available. This is a great place to buy rocks to make jewellery with. I have taken a few friends here to Charlie's Rock shop. They have always bought something and loved the store. A fair few have returned without me. So I have done something good apart from this review Charlie!!!

When I returned to the shop to explain that the problem remained they said the only solution was therefore to carry out a full service at approximately £75 from which they would deduct the cost of the battery. I asked very politely for a refund on the battery. They were adamant that they held no responsibility to do any such thing. In business terms this may well be correct but good business practice looks at the ethics of selling and follow-up. When I questioned the "director" he was extremely aggressive, told me I had no right to question his working practices, that he was running a business and physically threatened me by repeatedly waving his hand in my face and shouting at me to leave his shop. He was clearly angered by my suggestions that he had a moral responsibility to his customers. He said he had no such thing. What most angered him was that I stood my ground, looked him in the eyes and remained very calm whilst he shouted and gestured. This man has let down the small traders of Merton and I would strongly avoid visiting this shop. Their solution to dealing with customers who question would seem to be intimidation and bullying the customer off the premises.
