You are first greeted by the kind and very efficient Kerri, to the warm and friendly Azita, Dr. Lakkis' assistant, and then Dr. Lakkis herself who will give you as much time as you need to have all your questions and concerns answered. We have worked together for years to maintain my gums healthy and I trust her completely with all the work she has suggested I have done. Periodontal work is no fun and it can be so painful but Dr. Lakkis and her caring and talented team of (did I mention they're all also beautiful?;)) women make you feel at ease and their work is impeccable. I recently had quite a bit of dental work done and felt well taken care of every step of the way. The front office staff are also fantastic and make the entire process easy and efficient. Scheduling was flexible enough to work around my shift schedule, parking is free with plenty of spots available, and the mobile app makes managing appointments simple and convenient. Overall, a very smooth experience from start to finish. Highly recommend CNS Dental in Crystal City!

I had a great experience with Dr. Gohel at Northern Virginia Periodontics. I had heard varying…read morethings about my teeth and gums from dentists over the years and I wanted to get a periodontist opinion. The staff is helpful and responsive, and it was easy to book an appointment and fill out the forms. The location was convenient to my work and was clean and welcoming. What I appreciated most about Dr. Gohel and his staff is I received a thorough examination. Dr. Gohel patiently talked me through what he observed and possible courses of action. They used high-resolution photographs of my teeth and gums and put them up on the big screen so he could show me exactly what he was talking about. I'm accustomed to seeing black and white X-rays at the dentist where I can't really tell what a slight grey spot might mean. The photos were helpful and easy to see what the doctor was talking about. I didn't feel any rush when talking to Dr. Gohel and asking questions (I had a few since this was my first time ever seeing a periodontist). I didn't feel pressured to commit to any course of action. I felt I was just receiving the doctor's expert advise and analysis with options laid out for me. That's exactly what I wanted. I would recommend this practice and Dr. Gohel to anyone looking for a great periodontist

Dr Ashley came in and and told me that my broken tooth, plus another that she claimed was too far gone, both needed to be extracted. EXTRACTED!? the dentist herself didn't even LOOK in my mouth!! She rambled on about implants and surgery and all the other work I would need to have done after.. she was clearly rushed and I couldn't understand much of what she said. Except that she wanted me to schedule the surgery IMMEDIATELY! Keep in mind this a very very expensive procedure... A second opinion proved that she was just lying through her teeth. Neither tooth needs to be extracted and can be repaired really quite easily and hardly costs much at all! I'm leaving this review in hopes to save any one else from the scams this office thinks they can get away with. Please, go elsewhere or at least get a second opinion.

Unfortunately, the experience with the Waldorf office staff was the opposite. From the beginning, the staff repeatedly told me that my insurance would not cover the exam and tried to push me to pay out of pocket. When I attempted to pay, their card machine was not working. I agreed to pay over the phone later since I did not have my physical card with me and usually use Apple Pay. I was also told that the procedure I needed would not be covered by my insurance. When I left, I was given what I thought was my receipt. Shortly after, the receptionist called and informed me that she had accidentally given me another patient's receipt that contained all of their personally identifiable information. We agreed she would come by my home to pick it up and provide me with the correct receipt since she lived close by. I was told the fee would be waived because of the inconvenience. However, that same fee was later processed and paid by my insurance company -- the same fee the office said would not be covered. Afterward, I called my insurance company about the other procedure and learned that it is actually covered at 50%. When I called the dental office back to ask them to submit it for pre-approval, the receptionist was adamant that she was not submitting anything to the insurance and insisted that I get confirmation in writing from my insurance first, as if submitting a claim would cost the office something. Dr. Smith himself was great, but the front office experience was frustrating, inaccurate regarding insurance coverage, and concerning given the mishandling of another patient's personal information.
