Extremely disappointed with the unprofessional, rude and unethical quality of service from Dr…read more Harvey Young's office. I had recently scheduled a routine colonoscopy exam for my elderly mother. She had been a regular patient of Dr. Young's for years. We had to reschedule her exam due to a conflict. We notified his office nearly four weeks in advance about the need to reschedule. Their cancellation policy states that patients need to give them at least 7 days notice to reschedule or face a possible cancellation fee. We respectfully followed their cancellation policy. No problem right? When my mother called to confirm her rescheduled appointment, we were shocked at their response. His office said she would have to pay close to $300 in appointment rescheduling fees - even though we had clearly followed their rules. We had cancelled her exam well ahead of time. If she did not agree to paying this fee, his office would drop her as a patient. What type of medical professional does this? Is this how you treat an elderly woman who has been a regular, loyal patient of yours for years? All this for $300? Is this type of behavior even ethical? I am shocked, disappointed and upset at how she have been treated. I am appalled at how his office has refused to honor its own rules when patients have dutifully followed them. No one deserves to be treated so disrespectfully and dishonestly like this. No one!

I don't call Harvey Young as a doctor based on my own experience…read more I went to this guy's office today 3/30/2023 for Colonoscopy exam and was rejected because I didn't schedule a relative to company me saying they concerned about my safety. I am surprised that someone concern my safety in such way, but not my health which suppose to be taking care of by this guy. What is a waste of my time, money, and effect, but I am glad that I made a decision not to continue with this guy. I also suggest others not to go to this guy and his office.

Continued; This nightmare is not over for me. I just got off…read morethe phone with my oncologist and I have to be followed for years to come. Because mine eventually grew at such a rapid mitotic rate of 10+, I am at risk for this becoming a sarcoma. I have a 2 5 %. I don't think you realize the trauma and pain this has caused me for many many years. I never felt heard. I've not felt well. I had discharge everyday that smelt vile. Infections. Things that are embarrassing to admit. Polyp that needed to be removed. Having intercourse with my husband was painful. Bleeding. Loss of time with my entire family and friends from being up all night due to pain. I don't understand why you didn't even look to see what my pain was being caused by? I am still so angry. My life has changed. Now I'm afraid it's going to come back with vengeance. It could have been a simple push of a button to get me into a specialist. Why not send me for an MRI or ct scan. On my message earlier you noted it was not necessary. You are the Dr I am the patient and I trusted you. You told me I was addicted to pain pills. What BS. I took a pain pill occasionally for my back which was the tumor resting on my spine bladder and bowels. Why so much attitude from you? As I told you before you would not treat your family member daughter wife with such uncompassionate. Dr Brennan Scott I…read morewent to see Dr. Scott early in 2023 with extreme pain in my lower left side. My obgyn Dr. Hoff wanted to to rule out anything going on in my colon. So, I had a colonoscopy and there were no polyps in my colon, all looked good. So, in my follow up appointment I described all my pain, the sleepless nights, the night sweats and nausea etc. and he told me that in his "expertise opinion" it was constipation! To me that was a dagger in my heart as I knew without a shadow of a doubt that was not it. So I did all the things he asked me to do for my "constipation". Here is our dialogue after our in person appointment; From me; I am still experiencing the same cramping. It's actually gotten worse. I know you are pretty certain it's from taking my pain meds in the morning which causes occasional constipation, I however do not think that is what it's from. I have done everything you asked, in fact I have had bad diarrhea from all of it and had to back off. I feel frustrated that I am being jerked around. I am living in pain...everyday...how can it be so easy to say it's from constipation? Would you tell your wife this? Or your loved ones? I am frustrated if you can't tell. It's not fun living like this on a daily basis. Not sure what to do from here. Do I go back to Dr Hoff?   Aggie This is his reply to me; "Ms. Cousins,   I met you one time in the office and made some recommendations based on my experience and my opinion of what might be going on:   "- I'll have her start on MiraLax and Metamucil daily, and Senna as a rescue medication a couple times a week if needed. - If this doesn't help, we'll proceed with a trial of Linzess or Amitiza, most likely. - I don't think any further imaging such as a CT scan would be helpful, although we can certainly consider that. - I've also provided her reassurance that I don't think this is anything serious or dangerous. - I'll wait to hear back from her."   I am just now hearing back from you, and I am sorry that you still do not feel well. However, I take pride in the care I provide my patients, am offended by the tone of your message. If you are not satisfied with my care there are many other excellent gastroenterologists in the Bay Area.   Brennan A Scott, MD" Ouch, that hurt. Not the response I thought I would get to someone living in chronic pain. He did not recommend a CT scan and told me that "I've also provided her reassurance that I don't think this is anything serious or dangerous." Fast forward to today. I have since moved from California about a year ago. I started seeing new Doctors here in Virginia. Started seeing new OBGYN. They got me on the right tract immediately. Two MRI with contrast and CT scan. I had a 8.5 tumor growing in my lower left abdomen. My OB thought it was a fibroid but fibroids don't cause such extreme pain and Dr. Scott said "no CT necessary and it was nothing dangerous". Dr. Hoff didn't recommend anything either. So what else could I do but "trust" my doctor's as they brushed me off several times and made me feel like I was a liar. I had to have a total hysterectomy. I am seeing a great OBGYN Oncologist here in Virginia. When Dr. Rose got in to so see what is was, he immediately knew it was not a fibroid and saw a large tumor on my lower left side. I waited for 6 weeks to see if I had terminal Leiomyosarcoma. Do you know how scary this has been? Recovering from everything taken out, dealing with surgical menopause and then worrying that I have terminal cancer and I will leave my husband , kids and family behind? I am someone's daughter, someone's wife and most importantly someone's mom. Because this grew so large over the years it became very complicated. Last Friday I found out I don't have Leiomyosarcoma but I do have a very rare tumor called IMT inflammatory Myofibroblastic tumor which is even more rare then the original Stump Leiomyosarcoma that they originally thought and because of its size when taken out I will have to have body scans for the rest of my life. It can spread to other smooth tissue organs. This all could have been so different without an arrogant Doctor who believed he was right and his patient was wrong. Women out there. Trust your gut. When you have pain and suffering, something is wrong. We put so much trust into a doctors and there is a fine line between just a Doctor and a great Doctor who will go above and beyond to get to the underlying issue. This is not Dr. Scott. I think you need to read your Hippocratic Oath again. Sincerely, Aggie Cousins/Corcoran
