GREAT DOCTOR & NURSE!…read more I've been going to Dr. Bookus of Soundview Medical for many years now. He's a straight shooter and very good at keeping his patients in check. His nurse, Rosa is a doll and a pleasure to be around as well as Alex, who is new to the team but equally good. If you want an honest and very thorough clinician, Dr. Bookus is your guy! I know he will figure out what is wrong and give me solutions to solve them. He's not a "hand holder" by any means but I like that method so it works for me perfectly. He expects his patients to be accountable and I like that too! A great doctor and know your in great hands with him! On one specific occasion when my Mom was in for heart surgery, I ran out of RX's and needed a refill. He refused to call it in without seeing me. That was inconvenient because I was in the hospital with Mom all day and night and couldn't really make the time but he insisted. It was a good thing because my blood pressure was so bad, I could have had a heart attack or worst...a stroke. He got me on meds immediately and if he hadn't insisted on bring me in...he would have not caught it so I get why doctors do that. But... that policy can bit a patient in the backside too and on this other occasion where I moved,I think he made a bad call. Here's why... I recently moved from CT to FL and I was due for my annual which is the time I get all my scripts for refills. I thought I had done my annual but actually it was a sick visit...my bad. When I got to FL the pharmacy said no more refills so I asked if Dr. Bookus could please extend, once we realized I didn't do the annual like previously thought. He did allow for 1 month's worth while I reestablished with another doctor. One month wasn't enough time to get a 1st time visit with a new doctor down here. I had to wait 1 1/2 months for an appoint and called everywhere. I called back and explained it to the nurses but he wasn't willing to go beyond the 1 month extension. Long story short, I went without my meds for a time which to me is unacceptable under any circumstance...even if the error was mine initially. I was on daily meds that should not have been missed and was really surprised that was his solution for me and he wasn't willing to make an exception. I didn't agree with that solution so I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. It was my fault that I didn't remember but the move was very quick and stressful and these things can happen. I just wish he would have taken our years of history into consideration and know it wasn't intentional. I think he should have allowed for two months of RX's to give me the time to set up a new patient visit. It takes 3 months to get into see Dr. Bookus as a new patient so I'm not sure why he thought I could do it in less down here. That one incident aside, he is a fantastic doctor and I miss him and his staff a lot!

So hard to talk to anyone at this office. I feel more like a number and a bank then I do a patient.read more

They changed their answering service to an outsourced firm in probably another state which is way more horrible and have no clue of the facility, doctors and operation. But the worst came when the doctor moved away to another location, and they arranged me with another provider 3 months from my requested appointment date. Two days prior, got a phone call that the new provider won't be taking new patients. Fine, left 40 Cross st, and went to the original provider who now works in another location miles away. Even worse experience because of timing/medical record-keeping issues. Now I need my medical records as I want to switch doctors. They have what's on file but the knowledge about my issues with the doctor is completely lost. If you can, avoid this place at all costs. Overall I'd give my primary doctor a four star (after seeing him for several years) - he's fine except when there's more than one problem I see him for, he's overwhelmed or annoyed. I'm ok to visit him twice for two different problems - the issue is timing, appointments etc. suck. I'd rather pay him twice in the same visit. Unfortunately, my primary doctor is not accessible to me anymore.

When Dr Srinivasan walked into the room she shook my boyfriend's hand that was sitting next to me, skipped me and went across the room to greet my fiancé's mother. After talking for a while to my fiance and his mother, she finally talked to me and her question was: " How long have you been working with her?" And I repeated: working with her? Doing what exactly? My fiance jumped in and explained to her that I was his fiance. Her eye balls came out of their sockets. Then she simply said sorry. Now let us assume that I was the caretaker. Dr. Srinivasan doesn't greet caretakers of any race, or black caretakers. I saw a few patients of color there. Folks you guys need to think twice. It is clear that this ignorant has some deeply rooted issues. Either she is racist or rude or both. Be careful who you trust your health with. Obviously this physician does not understand the meaning of the Hippocratic Oath. She is far from being humble, to say the least she personifies RUDENESS. I hope that the managing entity for Norwalk Medical Group will take this into consideration and will make certain that such attitude is not tolerated in the practice and that the patients, their caretakers, and family are treated with respect during their visit to the center.
