Dr. Mastro is the #1 dentist in the Roswell area and does fantastic work. He did several porcelain fillings for me, and you can't even tell they are fillings. They are PERFECT. If you need top-notch work he is amazing. My challenge is I just need regular dental checkups, and I am troubled by the turnover I see in his staff. I went to Dr. Mastro for over 20 years, but after seeing his most recent sweet and pleasant dental hygienist leave, I decided I was done. He doesn't appear to take care of his staff. Absolutely terrible. Be very careful with this dentist he did multiple cavity's supposedly on me for 3x more than other excellent dentists would do for less than half. Was very unaware of how dishonest dentists could be. I went to another dentist and they told me that there were only half of the fillings I told them I was supposed to have done by Mastro. I was in shock. I got taken and the quality of work on my teeth were subpar according to the other dentist. Now I have to pay to have them properly done. Terrible experience. read more

This is about a dentist. There are times when the universe sort of leads me in a direction that makes things a bit easier. Rather than subscribe to Chaos theory I choose to believe that there is some sort of external thing - a Force if you will - that's letting me know when I am following the most noble course. This may all be complete malarkey, but is MY malarkey and I embrace/reject/tweak it at my convenience. Don't judge. This is about a dentist. I was moving my mom's stuff into an assisted living community and was up to my neck and obligations and stress when, through grinding my teeth, the back molar shattered. I was in fair amount of pain. I needed to see a dentist but couldn't take huge amount of time off since mom was languishing in a hotel waiting for her room to be made ready. I called and made an appointment with a dentist whose sign I passed on the way to the community, whose name I will not mention. Then I checked the reviews on Yelp and they were dreadful. And then I stumbled upon the reviews for THIS place and called them with less than 24 hours notice, and they managed to fit me into their schedule. By that I mean they managed to repair a tooth and replace it with a crown in a single afternoon, a single 4 1/2 hour ordeal. It only took me half a day in the chair and did not set back my schedule to bring mom to her new home by more than a couple of hours. That alone gives them a lot of stars. But the place is beautiful and the staff is remarkably friendly. They chatted with me and make me feel comfortable and without pain during the entire ordeal of getting a crown. They managed to carve out an ENTIRE half a day on less than 24 hours notice for some guy off the street and treated me like I was royalty. They use a state of the art technology and they're very meticulous about their work. They were matching colors and arguing about whether I was one shade whiter than the porcelain when it occurred to me that they were arguing over a BACK MOLAR that no one would ever see, including myself. Now THAT is attention to detail. The prices were right on par with everywhere else I've ever been and the service was extraordinary. Beyond that, the staff comes to Brookdale Senior community quite often handing out toothbrushes and toothpaste. A sort of good deed which should not go unrewarded. So long as my mother lives and lives here, this will be her dentist and my dentist as well. I don't normally rave about a dentist. This is an exception. Lord help if anyone if they think you will get a person with compassion. He is yelling at his staff and will be rude to you if you question him. This man was honestly the worst dentist I have been to in years. I moved from Austin and this is only my 2nd dentist. I hope they all are not like this!!!!! He should retire. I chose this practice because it is close to my job I first time I went there, I had a broken tooth and needed to see a dr asap. I was given an appointment for 11 am. I showed up early and waited and waited and waited. I waited for almost an hour and half before I was seen. I was told they had a procedure that ran long blah blah blah. I saw the dr, they brought me in and x rayed but again I waited about 30 very uncomfortable minutes for the dr to actually see the X-ray and patch me up. Mind you, I was already over two hours in, but this was an emergency to me so I had no choice. All the while, I was listening to the dr talk to a patient about her dog and be exceedingly rude to his assistant. She hasn't holding the equipment as he wanted her to and he did not care that there are no walls between chairs and other people can hear him be a jerk. !!!! I paid 55 and was told I need a crown. With my insurance, i would pay twice as much with The dr because "he is the best in the business and everything is custom made in the office". So, with him I would pay 690 for a crown but with any other dentists I would pay 300. Red flag. I made two appointments that day for tooth cleaning for my son and I. I made these appointments 6 weeks out. I called the day of the appointment to make sure we were still good to go and I was told my appointments were given to other patients because I didn't confirm the appointments with them 48 hrs in advance. WHAT IS THE POINT OF MAKING AN APPOINTMENT THEN?! I got attitude from the person on the phone. It's all my fault. Find another dentist and dont deal with these up-charging rude people. read more

First experience with dental cleaning with Linda was great. Went back the second time for cleaning and she was a temp. I don't even think that she even touched my teeth during "cleaning". Made another appt with Linda and was stuck with another temp who was horrible. He was so rough with my mouth that he actually took a crown out! All I got from the office manager that I am not as tolerant as she would have been! I don't recommend this office to anyone. Tell your clients that you hire temps to do the work and they don't seem to have much experience. read more

I went to get a bridge from Dr. Mastro. I scheduled an appointment soon after because I noticed a gap between my gums and tooth large enough to push food through. The nurse looked at it before the Doctor came out and said "Oh no it shouldn't look like that". Dr. Mastro came out and said nothing was wrong, he said it was perfectly fine. Then told me to give it a couple months and make sure not to get any food in it. So I've been eating on one side of my mouth for over a year. 18 months later that gap has closed some but it is still open. I called to schedule an emergency check up because I believe my gums are swollen and I want to make sure I don't have food trapped, or possibly an infection. And Susan tells me that I cannot get appointment until I pay $50 for a missed appointment in March. I told her that Doctor Mastro has cancelled on me before so I will not pay. I was told I cannot schedule an appointment until I made that $50 payment. I'd like to add that I've spent thousands of dollars cash not insurance at this office. And she gladly told me to find another dentist over $50. read more

I absolutely did not like my experience at this dentist and I will never return. This decor resembles a style from the 50s, really just bad. When I walked in, the only good thing about this place was the blonde receptionist at the front desk because she was really sweet. A hygienist took me back and I swear she might have been the most annoying person I have ever talked to in my life. She kept going on and on about how I have horrible problems with my teeth that I needed to get fix when I take really good care of my teeth. She literally would not shut up even after numerous eye rolls. Explaining how serious it would be if I didn't take her up on expensive add ons. I felt like she was attempting to sell me up on so many unnecessary procedures. I couldn't believe her unprofessionalism. I told the people at the front desk I was interested in bonding and when they told me I was done no one addressed my issue. She seemed shocked that she had to go get the doctor again like I was an inconvenience. The dentist- dr. Mastro extremely rude! He looks like a mad scientist and talks to you like you're stupid. He acts like he's in a rush to leave and doesn't give you the time of day. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT come here. You will be uncomfortable, feel pressured and just have a horrible experience. As if going to the dentist is not already bad enough- this place makes it 500x worse. read more

Let me start by saying I hate going to the dentist. I recently move to Roswell, Ga and needed a new dentist and lucky for me I chose Dr Mastro DDS - wow what a great place !! Was referred to Dr. Mastro's office last year by a good friend. Office staff are always friendly and call you by name each visit, hygienists have always greeted me with a smile, and overall, I know I'm getting great service and care for my money. Most recently, I had to get some fillings. Without a doubt, hands down, EASIEST and most pain-free experience ever in a dental chair, period. Could not believe how gentle Dr. Mastro was in administering the anesthetic to numb me...I literally could have fallen asleep during the procedure, and his assistant and he traded implements like a well oiled machine. Dr. Mastro has been our family dentist for years, including our son, from middle school age and on. Recently Dr. Mastro worked on a molar implant for me. His office staff handled all of my insurance filings, ensuring I got the maximum benefits, even when the insurance company initially (incorrectly) denied coverage. The final result is incredible, with the original tooth extraction, intermediate healing prosthesis and final implant all handled in the same office with Dr. Mastro fabricating the tooth himself, insuring the color match and bite was 100% perfect. I highly recommend Dr. Mastro and his team for routine dental and cosmetic dentistry procedures. read more

Dr. Mastro and his staff have consistently provided excellent service for the four times I've been there. The reception is friendly and they have a nice waiting area with bottled water and some chairs. My hygenist has been great as well. Dr. Mastro himself has given me 3 fillings and several sealants and all have been quick and painless. The one time I had to wait for a filling they even credited my bill as a courtesy. He and his staff have also been happy to explain the procedures and why they recommend them. I would highly recommend Dr. Mastro's practice for anyone who needs a primary care dentist. read more

Hadn't been to the dentist in forever when I came here... probably like 10 years or something crazy. After a initial phone call, I was emailed instructions for submitting paperwork online. Because I did this, I basically didn't have to do any paperwork in person when I arrived, which was nice. When I arrived, I was cordially greeted, and after a very brief wait, was promptly seen by the dental assistant. The young lady that saw me was super nice in answering all the questions that I had about the state of my teeth, the machines she was using, the pictures of my teeth they were taking, etc. Eventually Dr. Mastro came in and did a "final review" of sorts. Everything checked out except that they actually said I seem to have some fluid in my right sinus (probably because I had been recently sick, 5 weeks or so prior). I also had mentioned to them that I have some jaw pain, to which Dr. Mastro essentially said "you might need to stretch it out some". It's been at least a week since my meeting however, and the pain is still there, so I will probably mention that when I go back. But as of right now, I don't really have any reason to not give them 5 stars. Nice place. It has taken me a while to write this but nonetheless, here it goes. Went here for a simple cleaning a year ago because I couldn't get an appt with my dentist. I walked out with a treatment estimate quoting over $3500 worth of "recommended" services! I have great teeth and have always taken care of them, I've had 1 cavity in 40 years and that was prior to getting my wisdom teeth pulled and one of them was too close and prevented me from flossing well in that area. The hygienist told me I have stress fractures in my teeth, need a night guard, need fluoride, a new crown on the 1 cavity tooth, and 2 fillings for a suspicious area that never showed on the x ray. They claim that they have a tool (looked like a laser) that can see down in a tooth a predict a cavity at some point- what the heck?!!! I've worked in the dental Insurance field for 9 years and this is all B.S. I subsequently went to another dentist (6 months later -my original)who confirmed that my teeth were great and I only needed a perio cleaning. I know it's a business too but I felt totally misled and by the other reviews, this seems common practice. read more

There's a reason I've been going to Dr. Mastro for 38 years. It's because he's the best! I moved to Los Angeles in 1988 (and still reside there) and continue to visit Dr. Mastro twice per year. I am local to the finest Beverly Hills dentists, but insist on flying 2000 miles to see MY dentist. All of the staff (Diane, Linda, Paulette) are very professional and nice. They go beyond the call of duty to make sure my appointment goes well. Though Dr. Mastro has given me one of those million dollar smiles, he always take time to talk to me about more than just dental related items. He shows a genuine concern about me and always asks how things are going with work, family, life, etc. We always have great discussions about cars, traveling and politics. And by the way, thanks Dr. Mastro for giving me your opinion and support for Trump. I could listen to you all day long. If you ever decide to get out of dentistry, politics has your name on it. Anyway, without getting off track here, I want to thank you for the years of amazing service you've provided. My girlfriend (who now travels twice a year with me to see you) also thanks you. Being in the entertainment industry in Hollywood, CA., she is now more confident working as an actress, and especially when going on auditions. Many casting directors and others in the industry have complimented her smile, of which you are to be credited. She was simply amazed with your laser guided camera that was able to take multiple pictures her tooth, and create an exact replica for replacement.
