I was referred to Clermont in Orangeburg; the radiologists were always friendly and professional. The receptionists were not. When I went in 2020, it was unpleasant. It is always complicated and horrible because the insurance company tells me one thing and Clermont wants to charge an exuberant fee. Due to my having a lump which concerned me, they finally let me have the procedure. I called the insurance company afterwards and they informed me due to my situation, I would not have to pay. I went back on 8/29th, and the experience was awful. First, the receptionist did not speak, smile, or anything. Second, she told me I had a balance, and I should not have. Third, my Dr. ordered it due to my situation. And finally, she rudely informed me that I had to pay $291. 91. What kind of deductible is that? Three days prior, I learned another immediate family member had breast cancer. This heightens my fears. She offered no options; appeared cold, callous and uncaring. She told me either pay the almost $300 or reschedule. I asked if mammograms were offered anywhere else and she nastily replied, "The hospital but they cost more" I will NOT return even if I get the money. I don't trust them at this point and I do not want to give these people my business. I informed the main office in Florida and the person I spoke with was supposed to talk to the director and call me back the next day. Early detection is critical; yet it saddens me that Clermont Radiology is oblivious to that, especially the Orangeburg Office. I will research other places to have the mammogram done even if I have to go out of town. I don't recommend Clermont Radiology in Orangeburg to anyone. Now I have used them in Florida and had a pleasant experience. As a matter of fact, since it is a routine test for women my age, I don't ever recall paying a deductible anywhere and this was before breast cancer was in my family lineage. Go figure.

I was in a temporary from Sept. to Dec. because they had staffing issues and couldn't get me in for my permanent.I was in so much pain. Dr. Panvelker said it was infected. I got a second opinion and Dr. Criser said there was no present infection and that my temporary was not shaved correctly causing my actual tooth to show. I got the gap filled by prestwood and I eventually got my permanent on which made it better but it was still sensitive. Time passed and it ended up becoming painful. They kept wanting to refer me to get a root canal. I went and got a second opinion, found out my whole tooth is split in half. The tooth has to be completely removed. A root canal is not possible. Previously when I would come in due to pain, Dr. Panvelker kept saying "I told you it had the possibility of failing." With her being the professional, I don't know why she would allow the crown to be put on if it was more than likely going to fail. $800+ down the drain not even a year later.

The antibiotics didn't work and I called the office to get more or different. She was off so her partner was asked if she could help me. She refused to prescribe me antibiotics and told me to go to urgent care. With that, I should have found another dentist. Maybe one who actually cares about her patients, but I didn't. When I was financially able to start the denture process I called for an updated quote and made an appointment. I went to the appointment and was told they had no record of that and Dr. Poaps was on maternity leave. The attitude was , oh well. In a medical or dental practice I would think someone who is expecting a child would arrange to have backup. Nothing was done to help me. You want good care, find another dental practice. If you get it here you are lucky.

The dentist and the dental hygienists were very nice and professional, HOWEVER, the front office staff was horrible to me insinuating that I was trying to commit insurance fraud which is a FELONY. I have NEVER had anybody accuse me or insinuating anything illegal about me especially since my family and I are quite well known The receptionist and the front office manager (who both should know better if she was good at her job which she's not and should be punished or fired) condescendingly said, "Well here we follow the state law." What is she trying to imply that I don't?! That's insulting and a nasty and unprofessional to say to a patient who is new and you don't know at all. I have a reputation to uphold. Then the office manager continued to be very condescending and nasty to me and said in a suspicious, disrespectful questioning tone, "Is there a reason WHY you don't won't BlueCross Blue Shield being billed as primary?" I work for an insurance company and I have a background in management and if I ever treated a customer, patient, client, provider, etc. like this, my boss would have fired me for fear of a lawsuit of a defamation of character or at the very least get written up for abusive or argumentative language because of an office manager and receptionist who do not know how to talk to people. I work everyday where I have to tell callers that my company that I work for has to be billed as primary in order for their medical claims to be paid accordingly, but I speak respectfully and professionally and kindly tell the callers inquiring about their medical claims and how to bill to us and say, "I apologize, but we have to be the primary payers when you bill to us." The office manager, who is blocking me from talking to the owner recently (yes, he may be busy, but I haven't even received a voicemail message from here so here we are). I didn't ask nor wanted any dental coverage from my company that I could not opt out of because I already had dental coverage from Delta Dental Of SC (which I had for YEARS before this current job that I'm not going to have much longer) which I thought I could bill as primary, but the front staff could have been more respectful and addressed me better than insinuating something as serious as Insurance Fraud which is a felony.
