I have been to a number of acupuncturists and Chinese herbalists, and Dr. Hou is by far the best…read more Clear improvement in sleep, energy, and physical symptoms of stress. Also amazing pedigree, lovely offices, and flexible schedule. Highly recommended.

I went 2x/week for 4 months for acupuncture and herbal tea supplement (which I drank twice a day…read morereligiously), all as recommended due to my build up of stress and wanting to get off of anti-depressants. We identified I had a yin deficiency, which I have heard from other practitioners before. I was told I have inflammation from the "heat" from the yin deficiency. All made sense to me. There was no type of improvement that I could see. I was uncomfortable during the acupuncture and was barely relaxed. I've seen other practitioners and did not have this kind of experience. I really wanted to like this practice so it was disappointing. I wanted to commit to doing it for a year, but I just couldn't hold out because I was actively suffering through the acupuncture. (And I'm a fan of it!) What really got me was that Dr. Hou would see me every week and say the exact same things for 4 months. "Tongue getting better." Or "Toenails are still dark red (low oxygen) but getting better." This on repeat for 4 months. There was no visible or internal improvement on my end. I committed completely and took her suggestions. I tried to tell her my concerns, but she had no answers for me. Just that it will take a long time and that my "cells need to grow." If I had a dime for every time I was told my "cells need to grow," here I would be rich. I understand TCM and have no issue with waiting, but the constant "you're getting better" was suspicious. I had a bad feeling about it. I was basically told to wait a year to see improvement, but the repetition felt very "snake oil salesman" to me. Not to mention, the place seems like it hasn't been deep cleaned in a very long time. The tables are uncomfortable. The prices are decent, so if you want to give it a try and see if your issues resolve unlike mine, give it a shot! I saw a lot of great reviews so I really wanted to give it a solid try. But I need to get a second opinion after this experience. I was sketched out and had to trust my gut.

My friend recommended this place and I went with it because it's close to my house…read more Let me preface this by saying I am not someone who embraced western medicine. Moreso, I acknowledge it has a time and place and recognize getting a colonoscopy might be a smart thing to do. My first appointment the doctor had zero knowledge of what would be the root cause of constipation and rolled his eyes when I said long term use of MiraLAX as a solution was not an option. Fine. That's not what I'm here for. The packed they gave me for pre prep colonoscopy was well laid out and easy to follow which is good because the nurse help line was lacking any person to reach, and no human ever spoke to me beforehand. I arrived early (my fault) only to find out they are running an hour late. I've now been here nearly two hours in the waiting room which would feel like less of a big deal if I wasn't thirsty, having to use the bathroom every 30 minutes, and had not avoided food the past 36 hours. All in all, don't expect anything else then a conveyor belt of procedures here. The staff does their job with competence but there is zero level of warmth or interest in the patients being human beings.

First, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Dr. Lowe. He is truly one of the…read morebest--exceptionally knowledgeable, thorough, and takes the time to explain everything in detail, which is invaluable for those of us not familiar with medical terminology. However, I would like to bring up a concern that has nothing to do with Dr. Lowe himself but rather with how appointments are being handled. When I tried to rebook an appointment with him, I was informed that nothing was available until the middle of December. Yet, when I checked online, I noticed that new patient appointments were available much sooner. When I spoke with a young lady in the office, she suggested that I see a nurse practitioner instead since Dr. Lowe was unavailable. This gave me the impression that the system prioritizes getting new patients in the door quickly, while existing patients face longer wait times. It feels as though the process may prioritize profits--encouraging nurse practitioner appointments, which may cost less for the office to provide, over continuity of care with the doctor we trust. It's disheartening to feel like I would have better access if I pretended to be a new patient by altering something like my last name. I hope this isn't the case and that steps can be taken to address this issue. I trust that you will look into this matter, as retaining loyal patients is just as important as attracting new ones. Thank you for your attention and understanding.
