The room where they administer the infusion is also the same room where cancer patients come to get their treatments. It's made me very anxious the first time because of this. You feel so bad so many people suffering by your side. Meanwhile you are just there for a boost of iron. I have been treated by Dr. Haggerty. He is a true angel and really helped me with my diagnosis. The man knows his stuff. I highly recommend him and his peers. The facility and staff is very understanding. Considering the treatment facilities they are providing. It's always super clean. They have water, coffee and snacks readily available. As you wait or that you can have while receiving treatments. They also give you pillows, and warm blankets to rest while receiving the treatments on the chairs. The chairs are very comfortable and versatile. I highly recommend this place for cancer patients looking for a facility to get their treatments done. I've even seen drs who have gotten diagnosed come here and sit next to the commoners to get their chemo/radiotion done. A+ staff, facility and drs!

The waiting room itself is spacious and more welcoming. The furniture and decor look newer and modern compared to the old locations which were outdated. There are four self-serve kiosks to check in. The former location on Shady Grove Rd only had two. Staff are friendly and the physician I saw today was only a few minutes late. Love the new location which is conveniently located right across from my office.

The first thing he asked me was "why are you bothering me? I explained what was going and suggested that he review my correspondence with the primary doc and perhaps actually look at my files. He wasn't interested and insisted that I see the Sports Doc even though the issue was clearly not musculoskeletal. He was rude, demeaning and not a credit to the practice.

Today my appointment was set for 9:30am when my appointments are generally set for 10:30am.    Dave let this mix up slide, but I still feel the ambience in the room is not what it use to be when I first started up my treatments here. The song Best Of My Love plays and I find myself with an incredulous smile on my face. Talk about being in the doldrums or at least feeling like it. Can it be a bit of a depression I am in? Can it be I am am seeing other guys that are in the same situation I am in or worse?  Sitting in a lounge waiting to get their genitals shocked in order to increase more blood flow? I am 46 years old and about to be 47 this year.  Maybe this I what is really bugging me. Add the fact I can please my loved one the way we both would like does do me/us any favors.  The feeling of being aroused and getting an election, (sometimes at unwanted times) seems like a dream more than reality. My number 24 was called and Jeff ended up being my technician for today.  I thought about what these technicians get paid and what their job titles are called.   Jeff and I talked for a bit and I found out he will not be working next weekend.  So I have rescheduled my next appointment for when he is there.   I do not wish to be seen by any other technician now.  He is following proper procedures, but apparently the other technicians are not doing this.   If there is a technician you like, I recommend scheduling all your sessions with them.  Otherwise you will get whatever technician is available at the time.  Once again, the music selection at this location is fantastic.

Drove a friend this morning for outpatient surgery. Arrived at 5:30 am and the office opened…read morepromptly and the patient was checked-in. By 6:00 am, we were brought to the prep area and the nurse helped with preparation and patiently explained everything. The anesthesiologist arrived on time, followed by the doctor. Everyone explained the processes and timing clearly. Patient was taken to surgery room at the time it was scheduled - 7:30 am. I waited in the waiting area and cafeteria (decent coffee and oatmeal) and the doctor snd nurse had taken my number down. Doctor called at the end of the procedure and I was notified when my patient was awake and ready to go home. Everything worked well and smoothly.

The only lacking issue is specialists for Trauma and serious specialist are not readily available which means you would have to be transported to another medical center, if they don't have the capacity to treat you properly. However in there hands you are really treated well and mostly moves fast if need be. I had an issue with the accepting Hospital not cooperating which could have been slightly bad (Georgetown Hospital, is the worst when it comes to it) they delayed the transfer and said that the orders were wrong, when in fact they just were being non cooperative for the orders. Other than that Shady Grove Adventist was not at fault and proved to be more than accommodating during my stay. I would say, I wouldn't hesitate to visit them for any emergency in the future.

I'm talking with or without an appointment the simplest x-Ray may be a *minimum* 40-60 minute wait. The waiting room isn't child friendly. There is a small, barely audible tv playing but that's it. There are no toys, no tables, nothing. Your child will probably be climbing walls and rolling around the floor trying to burn off energy and boredom. Simply put: it's an absolute embarrassment for a world class children's hospital to have this kind of location. The main hospital rarely makes you wait more than 10 minutes to be called. PS - not a location specific problem but it's ridiculous that they make you have to produce license and insurance card each and every appointment.

This is unacceptable and I plan to terminate my contract with APG and arrange for a more responsive medical team.
