Dr Nikola Lozanov and his office team are the simply the best!…read more My husband and I relocated to the Sebastopol area and spent a lot of time researching medical practitioners. Dr Lozanov came highly recommend by a new friend, so we decided to see if his office was the right fit for us (we are advocates of a combination of allopathic and holistic medicine). From the moment that we arrived in his office, we felt very comfortable. Dr Lozanov and his staff were welcoming, professional and progressive (as observed by the selection of up-to-date health and medical magazines in his waiting area). On a personal level, Dr Lozanov took the time to get to know us and has offered excellent medical guidance peppered with practical health solutions for the past four years. Follow-up by his office staff has also been timely, helpful and caring :) As an aside, when receiving a recent medical scan, the imaging technician commented that Dr Lozanov's office had a reputation for providing excellent integrative medicine (I agreed 100%). I also heard this sentiment echoed by two alternative health professionals in the local area. If you are looking for a wonderful, progressive doctor and a delightful office staff, I would highly recommend Dr Lozanov and his team. We were very fortunate to land on his doorstep four years ago!

I do not recommend this Dr. You cannot be your own advocate. Not only does he talk rudely to you (very arrogant),but he will discuss ALL of your private information in front of other clients (it's how his office is set up). Why even speak in a medical room if THAT is going to happen. If you question why all the blood work (nearly every three months), he will not explain and just have his staff (his wife) call you do inform you that this Dr. has cut you from the practice. Blood work every three months to tell me I need to take vitamins which, by the way, he sells. And will sell you expired vitamins but tell you they are okay to take. Also, if you have any physical concerns he will not look at it directly. Has ZERO interest. He will simply suggest a local whatever Dr. No referral. You are given a business card to call said other Dr. (This was a simple foot issue which did not require said other Dr. - specialist - but ended up having to WAIT over a month to get into other Dr. - specialist who told me I could have had Dr. Lozanov deal with it).

AVOID - UNETHICAL AND UNPROFESSIONAL I am an eldercare…read moremanager. An important part of my job is to ensure a client's safety, capture vital medical information, and advocate for their well-being. Feb. 24, 2026, I planned to support a new 89-year-old client--who has moderate dementia and is very hard of hearing--during his visit to Dr. Saverio Roberto. Because of my client's cognitive and hearing challenges, having an advocate present to accurately track his care plan was critical. As a courtesy, since I had never met this physician, I provided information about my role and credentials, in writing, along with a legally signed authorization from his Power of Attorney to attend this appointment. Dr. Roberto flatly refused to allow me to accompany my client into the appt. I asked to speak to him, but Dr. Roberto refused to come out, choosing instead to repeatedly send his receptionist to relay his objections. To resolve the refusal on the spot, I got the client's Power of Attorney (his daughter) on the phone so the doctor could hear directly from her that I had explicit permission to be in the room. He still refused, absurdly claiming that because she wasn't in California, he couldn't accept the signed authorization or verify her identity over the phone. In my 35 years in the eldercare industry, I have never experienced such a blatant disregard for a vulnerable patient's safety and support system. His behavior was completely ludicrous, obstructionist, and counterproductive to patient care! We have happily changed doctors, and my client is now receiving excellent care. AVOID this doctor if you want your elderly loved ones to have their legal rights and advocates respected.

She could have come back and said "the Dr. will be right with you. Instead, I sat there wondering if I was going to sit there for an hour or more. Got the feeling she could care less. Rush, quick get them in and out. Might as well see a robot. Receptionist up front has an attitude. Once when I needed pain meds, I went to pick them up and the Dr had not even called it in, 8 hours later. It was frustrating dealing with Northern Calfornia Medical Group. No email. You call the Dr office, they transfer you, you leave a message. The Dr. calls you back and you miss the call. They are out of the office Wow, this is the state of our medical care in this country. Dr. Levin feels like he does not like his job and is dispassionate. He is a good Dr. and has a great education. It is largely Northern California Medical Associates that is the problem.

I needed to find a new doctor when my previous doctor of 20+ years stopped taking the insurance I had at that time. My first appointment with him, all those years ago, was more of an interview experience - where did you go to school, medical bonafides sort of thing. It was an opportunity to try and gage his manner, medical expertise, and determine if we would be able to work well together. He was then, as he is now, open, direct, well educated, extremely knowledgeable, very personable, and professional. The one and only drawback is he doesn't do hospital visits. He was very upfront about this right at that first visit. And I appreciated knowing this from the get go so I could make an informed decision. He's very tuned into the medical community and has always provided me with excellent referrals when needed. We've gotten along great all these years. Appointments are easy to make on a timely basis. All the staff working there are truly fabulous. I especially appreciate nurse Fred and always hope to see him when I'm there. He's so knowledgeable and kind. My rule of thumb in seeking medical professionals - medical education counts, they have to be smart, they have to be direct, they have to have excellent critical thinking skills, and I have to trust them. Check on all counts. It's just a bonus that we also get along very well.
