First off, the dog park is amazing. Huge with lots of space, separated areas for small and large dogs, agility play equipment, benches and the like. You must have a city dog license and it seems that access to the park is using an RF tag to open the gate. Nearby, an ADA compliant playground, fitness equipment and a disc golf course. And that's just half the park. On the other side, a regular playground with a splashpag, picnic shelters, a massive baseball/softball complex and walking trails and a mountain bike trail. Today, that space was a volleyball tournament and there was a good crowd to observe. The parking lot has room for 25 or so vehicles, most of which were occupied today. There is a permanent structure with restrooms and water fountains. The parking lot is also a trailhead for the Carolina Thread Trail. Trail has a water reservoir in the midst of it. On the same side as the mini trail there's a cute woodsy kiddy park and a blue workout area where there are high n low platforms and hanging rings. Across the road is Carolina Courts. Next to it continues the Chestnut Square Park facilities: three lit tennis courts (no backboard), sand volleyball courts, and a football field (used also for soccer). They are all with lights.

Make sure you wear your helmet and only use skateboards and scooters. There is a park with slides and other equipment right beside the skatepark.
