Dr. Amber is the best I have come across in three countries and five states - she's super responsive on email, very respectful of time, appointments are prompt, lots of non-critical things handled by phone and email - and above all she's a very compassionate and technically strong doctor. I was one of the first patients through the door and I'm delighted to see her practice continue to grow and thrive.

It's still a small medical practice, and Dr. W does it all herself. She's the closest thing to an old fashioned "family doctor" that I've ever had in my life, yet her practice is completely modern. It's great being able to contact my doctor by email any time of day or night and get replies back (to non-urgent matters) the same way. No bureaucracy, no wasted time filling out paperwork, no navigating through layers of phone menus. Dr. Wobbekind respects my time. Plus, she's easy-going, friendly, and smart. I wish all doctors were this good.

After seeing…read morepositive reviews on Dr. Atkins I tried to make an appointment with her, but she was booked for 2 weeks and I really needed to see someone sooner since I had staples in my head. Unfortunately, I made the choice of going to Belmar Family Medical since they could get me in quickly. I would never recommend that office. Back to Dr. Atkins. From the moment she walked in the door we both literally thought we had met each other somewhere before. She was great! Very personable, happy and talkative, unlike the experience at Belmar. She asked a lot of questions about the accident and how I was feeling. She actually seemed like she wanted to know and really cared about my pain and the anxiety I now have when driving. She discussed our plan of action on getting some physical therapy done to help with my recovery. When I left her office almost an hour later I was so happy to have found a doctor in Colorado that I felt comfortable with! I was so excited that before I started the car I had to call my daughter to tell her. I sat there for probably 10 minutes just gushing over how excited I was and told my daughter that I would now be bringing her there as well because she's getting too old to see her Pediatrician anymore (she's 17!). Linda in the office was also fun and a pleasure to have met. She did my weight/height and vitals. The whole experience was just super great!! :)

Often prescribing a medication and sending her on her way. She needed someone to put all of the pieces together to form a PLAN, rather than looking at just one concern. She also wanted someone that would take their time at appointments and listen to her rather than quickly diagnose and send her out the door. We found all of these wish items with Dr. Amador. He is patient, caring, an active listener and has wide range of knowledge and experience. We are lucky to have found him and all of the wonderful staff at his office. If you are looking for a new doctor, I would highly recommend him.

I'm a big fan of women doctors generally and Megan was SO knowledgeable and helpful and a great communicator. Everything a healer should be. My primary doctor is Dr. Karen Kelly and she is also FANTASTIC. I highly recommend her; she tends to be booked several weeks or months out and for good reason. She's a great doctor. Years ago I had one bad appointment: the doctor got no cells from a screening but they charged me anyway, even though the test was null and void. They also refused to do another test, telling me I had to do it out of pocket if the insurance company refused to pay for another. That was a case of the patient being truly ripped off. This was over 7 years ago, and also I still did not switch doctors, because EVERY other experience was really great. They've done every other test I need perfectly and saved me a lot of expense by being clear and honest about tests I actually needed or did not need. They've partnered with me to really look after my health. These days as a patient you have to pay attention to how you're being treated by insurance companies and labs and medical practitioners, and you have to go to bat for yourself. But it's great to have doctors you can trust and rely on. That's why I've been a patient of Applewood Internal Medicine for a decade.

Since the retirement of Dr. Karen Kelly-Hemler and the subsequent take over by Optum, which is owned by United Health Care, patient care, customer service and follow up have all changed drastically. First of all, it is a revolving door of doctors, PA's, nurse practitioners, MA's, managers and front office staff since I started going there. Dr. Kelly used to genuinely care about her patients and demonstrated that each time I saw her, but now it's only about how much money the doctors and managers can squeeze out of each person who comes through the door. I absolutely dread when I need a prescription refilled because it can take weeks for the staff to reply to the pharmacy and approve the prescription especially if there is an issue with insurance, and that's if they don't require me to come in for an office visit first. I have run out of medication because insurance won't let me fill it too early or the office does not see running out of medication as a priority. When I've complained to the receptionist at the front desk they tell me that they are so busy and understaffed that they can't get to medication requests sometimes for several days or weeks, and no one sees anything wrong with this. I can just see the roll of the eyes from the staff when I ask how long something is going to take, as if I'm being unreasonable. Also, I recently had an issue with my insurance not being accepted and the doctor told me she had many patients that pay of out pocket but she took this as an opportunity to charge me $300 for a 10 minute appointment - surprise! The front desk receptionist told me that they don't usually take patients who don't have insurance that they accept and that I should go somewhere else that accepts my insurance. Changing primary doctors can be very time consuming but in this case I think that's the best advice I've heard.
