This place has changed their sign and possibly their name, but I think the owner is still the same man.
I was little overwhelmed being in this bookstore. The owner told me that he had 82,000 books in the store (which is overwhelming in itself!) and they really did have a great selection of stuff.
The staff were all drinking wine when we came in, which was kind of nice to see that they could all just relax and have a glass of wine while they were working.
I was a little annoyed with one of the guys who worked here though. I assume he is either the main manager or the owner. He followed my boyfriend and I around as we browsed and I felt like I was being sold to. The thing with book shopping is that it is easier to browse on your own instead of being talked to every time you pick up a book.
This started to frustrate me so much that we didn't even finish looking through the store because he was on my heels and I was annoyed.
When we were leaving he made a comment about us not buying anything and I felt a little insulted. He acted like a used car salesman! I could tell he loved books, and most likely loved his job, but it shouldn't mean harassing customers to buy a book. read more
