Dr. Peter Dornhofer was efficient, thorough and very friendly and reassuring. The check-in nurse, Eric, was efficient friendly and also stepped up to action immediately. And finally the discharge nurse, Mary, was friendly and very sweet as we checked out and were in and out in 50 minutes flat. We have pain meds and a confirmed diagnosis and we are on our way to a happy healthier life.

It took them 2 years to finally settle a bill for an ER visit in 2022. I would get random calls from somebody in India saying we owed thousands of dollars but when I logged into Dignity portal, it showed a zero balance. And even after 2 years, the final bill was wrong. Now it's a bill for our intellectually disabled son's ER visit. Even though we've had the proper legal papers on file with Dignity for years that allow us to handle his affairs, the lady in India can't 'see' the paperwork & wants me to mail it to her (for a balance he doesn't even owe since he'd reached his OPM for the year). There is never any detail on the bill. Just really frustrating. I don't know who Dignity contracted with to handle their billing but they need to find a new company.

This business is now called Coast Neuro, and Dr Masne was highly recommended by my opthamologist,…read moreDr. Parrett, in Arroyo Grande, who is amazing. Firstly, if you are in quick need for a Neurologist, don't go here and here's why. l. I am recently new to the area, and didn't have a primary care doctor. You MUST have a referral, so I got a referral from my ophthalmologist, bless him, and dropped off his 2 page medical report on my eye issues that could be related to my migraine headaches. 2. So, when you walk in, on the right by the FRONT DOOR, they look at your paperwork, and silly me, thinking this would be somewhat private, it IS NOT. She looks at my paperwork and says out loud, SO, YOU HAVE HEADACHES THEN? (Can you say HIPAA violation?) What if I had something way more serious? 3. So, I got beyond that part, and asked for an appointment with Dr Masne. She says, "Oh, we pick your doctor based on our doctor's expertise. " They have quite a few docs in that practice, and since I was scared when I went there, concerned about this new condition that had disappeared for more than 25 years, this made me feel worse. I like referrals from other doctors and I wanted to CHOOSE. Ok, I accepted their "rules" thinking they should know best. And hoping they would call in a few days. 4. I asked how long would it be, and she said "The Doctor in charge of evaluations reviews paperwork of new patients weekly, so a few weeks. God, what if I was in dire need? 5. It's now 3 1/2 weeks, and KELLY (who needs a new job, as she has the kindness and humanity of ATILLA the Hun) leaves me a voice mail to call her back. 6. I called her back today to schedule, and forgot to ask who I had been "assigned" to, but did ask about pricing, and what type of appointment I would have. She said "consult" and then she said they had NO PRICING, that I would have to call their Billing Office, (somewhere in the Central United States) I care about pricing as I don't have traditional insurance, only Medicare now. 7. I was dumbstruck, Really? Who doesn't have their own pricing? So, I complied, and called the medical billing office, who were really nice, but said that KELLY's office definitely has PRICING, (lie number 1) and that it would take her some research, since they DID NOT HAVE PRICING, and would have to find a new patient bill for COASTNEURO to find the pricing and call me back. I said don't bother. 8. So, I will be calling back to cancel my appointment. If they are this poor in customer service BEFORE I become a patient, I can only be AFRAID of what it will be like If I kept my appointment. My BRAIN (migraines are nothing to gloss over) is too important for this type of treatment, and perhaps these doctors are great, but I will NEVER KNOW since their office staff is so horrific.
