This office told me I had NO cavities, so obviously I was relieved and expected to at least be able to get the routine preventive cleaning that my insurance covers. For context, I had been getting routine cleanings twice a year for 15 YEARS before moving to Texas. I have never had an issue getting my regular preventive cleanings. Instead, I was told this office recommended a different cleaning that I would have to pay out of pocket for. I explained that I wanted the routine cleaning as a preventive measure, especially since I was told I only had the START of gingivitis. When I questioned why I couldn't receive the routine cleaning, the doctor stepped in and said it was a "liability issue" and that he would question another dentist's integrity if they performed the routine cleaning. Honestly, this whole experience left me confused. One dentist told me I needed several fillings and a deep cleaning, this office told me I had no cavities, but then I'm still being told I need to pay out of pocket for a different cleaning because of "liability." I'm not against recommended treatment. I just want to understand WHY it's necessary and what my options are. Upon relocating to Dallas finding a new dentist was one of the many things I needed to do. And finding a great dentist was more challenging than I thought it would be. Thankfully I was able to go to my Yelp app and conduct my search. A BIG thank you to Nicole J. Upon coming across her initial review for Dr. Yeary I PM'ed her to gather more information. She promptly responded and the next thing I knew I was in the chair at Dr. Yeary's. Upon my first visit I knew I was in the correct place. Talk about rolling out the red carpet...the greeting I received upon arriving was both warm and professional. Instead of handing me some forms to complete, I was seated and asked a series of questions and the next thing I knew I was reviewing the 'new patient forms' and signing. I don't know about you but I am not a fan of completing those new patient forms. This approach made this part of the process so much more enjoyable. Next was the actually appointment in the dental chair. Dr. Yeary has state of the art equipment. As someone who enjoys technology I truly appreciate the setup here. From viewing X-rays on an overhead monitor to the cleaning tools, it all contributed to a great experience. Also, when the monitor is not in use for viewing X-rays, etc, the staff will gladly put it on a TV channel of choice. How cool is it to catch up on sports (ESPN) while having your teeth cleaned? And the comfortable dental chair made feel like I was at home in a recliner. Since my initial visit I've returned a couple of times and the level of warm professional service has been consistent. On one occasion I had a tooth fixed and the entire process was painless. And to top that off, later that evening I rececived a follow up call to see how I was doing. And guess who made the call? Dr. Yeary himself. I could not think of the last time I'd received a follow up call from my dentist (or doctor). Usually it's someone on staff who performs the follow up call. As we were heading into the weekend, Dr. Yeary made it clear that if I had any issues to call and he would get back to me immediately. When is the last time you had a dentist/doctor encouraging you to interrupt their weekend if required? I don't think I've had that occur. Lastly, I truly appreciate that Dr. Yeary looks to solve issues the most cost effective way. As we all know, dental work is expensive. It's good to work with a dentist who is looking to correct the problem the most cost effective way. And I appreciate that Dr. Yeary looks at a longer term fix, not just something to get through for a 12-18 months. I am very pleased that I found Dr. Yeary and his team. Systematic double-billing and fraudulent financial practices - should I say more?…read more Though you have descent insurance, they will charge you the entire amount of services, claiming that this is the amount that insurance won't cover (100%, really?). Then they bill your insurance for EXACTLY THE SAME AMOUNT and get paid again. They will never tell you that you overpaid, and once you figure it out once your EOB is ready, Kids Dental will a) deny there is an overpayment b) try to keep it and "apply as credit for future services". Ouch! Oh, and good luck getting an office manager to speak with you: she is "so busy, and has to serve thousands of patients across multiple locations". On top of that, if you paid with your FSA card, you now have to go through the repayment process and all other time-consuming stuff. When this happened once, I thought that this was an honest mistake. But it happened again. And again - with a friend of mine. Horrible stuff, stay away - there are plenty of great dental offices in Plano.

When I called at 8:05 a.m. to move my wife's appointment, I was told we'd be charged a $129 cancellation fee for being within 24 hours. She's currently bedridden and unable to do much of anything--making a dental visit completely unrealistic. After more than 30 years with Dr. Beougher, I was stunned by such a steep penalty. Other practices may charge a modest $25, but $129 feels excessive. I told the staff on the phone to cancel every future appointment--we will not be returning. Driving nearly 30 miles one way was already a commitment, but this policy makes it impossible to justify. Especially now that I'm retired and on a fixed income, I simply can't afford to support an office that treats long-time patients this way.
