I have stayed very consistent with my exercises that I was given thus far. I had to preserve when I thought I just could not. Today , I can say, I am so grateful for Dr. Gautsch and his expertise in this minimally invasive technique that he has literally mastered! Dr. Gautsch also has incredible staff with Nurse Ashley, and the girls in the front office and my incredible, patient, caring PT Amy! The care that the office team gives is loving, highly knowledgeable and encouraging! My story is that I have had bone on bone knee pain and discomfort for long over 15 plus years. I kept active and suffered at night. I lived on over the counter NSAID's and finally went to a daily prescription to manage the discomfort. If you're reading this you know what I am talking about! When I met with Dr. Gautsch he completely understood my situation! He was very easy to discuss my future with and how I would love to have an active life again! Before even poking her head through the door, she asked "how are you doing today sir". Well, I'm a woman with what some people would consider a man's name. I was also grossed out that the tables do not have paper on them for cleanliness and no disinfectant to clean between patients. She looked at my x-rays and moved my leg around stating she heard a pop...I didn't hear one. She ordered me an MRI at TOA's location in Nashville stating it'd be a quicker turnaround. Upon returning after my MRI result, she told me I had a torn meniscus and needed surgery, as it would not heal itself. No other remedies. She explained things so quickly, I was lost. I did have the surgery soon after. I was told to book physical therapy right away. So after one week, I went to pt and have regretted it since. Whether the surgery did or did not work, I don't know. Ever since that one pt appointment, I've been in pain. I mentioned it on follow-ups with Dr. George who told me it takes time to heal. Well, it's a year later and it appears another surgery (with a different surgeon who has tried other options first) is in my near future.
