David Gerard is one of the most amazing magicians I've seen. He really is a super start and an amazing performer! He was super funny, very engaging and the entire show went by so quick. It definitely left me wanting to see more. I agree with all of the other posts that you MUST SEE DAVID GERARD! He's going to become big very soon, so see him up close and in person while you can. I LOVED HIS SHOW!!! GO SEE IT!!!! read more

I hired David for a private birthday party and he totally rocked it. My party was for 3 generations and it takes a special talent to entertain all ages at once. He was fantastic. I am going to have to find his shows so I can go see him perform again. He was very accommodating to my schedule of events and worked the crowd so well. I had so many people come up to me and say "Why isn't this guy on America's Got Talent?" :) . Honestly, he's better than that! read more

It has been a month since David performed at our private party and we all STILL are talking about how Blown away we were by him! Not only was the magic the best I have ever seen (and I have been to a fair share of shows) he was a true gentleman and a professional. He performed for my birthday party and ensured he included each guest and even customized the tricks to make it personal for the group. He stayed after for some close up tricks because the group was so into it. I can't say it enough- JUST BOOK DAVID!! I promise it will be a night you will never forget. We can't wait to see him live again, I have heard his SF shows are incredible!! read more

I was looking to hire a mentalist for our company holiday party. After much searching, I stumbled upon David Gerard. We talked quickly on the phone about pricing and availability. He offered me free tickets to his performance at the dueling piano bar and said I could check him out before solidifying him for my event. I was not disappointed in the slightest and walked away from his performance knowing I had to have him at our event. He is not only a talented mentalist but a witty guy that keeps the audience on their toes and laughing. He came to our event months after I saw him live and it was still as impressive the second time. My company could not stop talking about him and how he made the party even more memorable. David is the best of the best! read more

David put on a wonderful performance for our Awards dinner! He has an immense amount of stage presence alongside his amazing magic tricks and hysterical jokes. Also, he's very professional and easy to work with. He added so much value to our event and I'm so happy that he was a part of the night. Our guests loved him. Would highly recommend David!! read more

To put into words the level of performance David delivers with each interaction is near impossible. As a fan from his residency at PianoFight, to events at the Battery and now hiring him for my own company's celebration, I have never stopped being amazed at the level in which David blows our minds. A true professional that is able to appeal to all types of audiences; bringing him in for an event will leave your team talking about the experience for days, if not forever. read more

We went to see David on a Saturday night, over a very busy weekend. I had no desire to go see him, to be honest, because life was busy. However, once I sat down in the intimate Dragon Productions Theater, I was able to focus on the show at hand. David's special guests got me in the mood for magic. Then David took the stage! David's show is smart, witty, current, funny and fast paced. He is brilliant! His opening number hooked us immediately. And although we wanted to talk about the "how?" after each part of his performance, we forced ourselves to stay present and just enjoy the show! That was a challenge, but it was well worth it because each subsequent part of his show was more amazing than the previous one. Towards the end of the show, I had the opportunity to go up on stage. I had read another random audience member's answers to the following questions: name, recent Google search item, and favorite memory. My job was to concentrate on the audience member's recent Google search item: Justin Timberlake (still an unknown to David). When I went up on stage, I was given a piece of foam core and a Sharpie. He asked if I could draw a picture of the item I was thinking about. I laughed and said, "NO!" He said, "Okay, I'll draw it then. Does it have a circle?" "Yes" "Some straight lines?" "Yes" "Okay, I'm going to add some details now...." Then it was my turn to draw. I hesitantly began drawing my (lame) rendition of Justin Timberlake. I drew a body. Some hair. Then he asked me to add some details. I added a microphone and some musical notes. He turned his picture around and showed the audience. Then I showed mine. They were very similar. Both of us had a microphone and musical notes on our versions. I was amazed and returned to my seat. But before I got comfortable, he asked me to stand up again and said, "So, it's a musician?" "Yes" "Do you listen to his music often?" "Not really" "Do you know people who do?" "Yes!" "Is it Justin Timberlake?" Mind blown! It was an amazing night. He is so engaging, I didn't want the show to end. I highly recommend getting to one of his shows. And do it soon!!! read more

Went to see David after a friend's recommendation, and it was absolutely amazing! Not only is he hilarious and could be a comedian, but he's also extremely gifted in the art of mystery and magic. The performance is very interactive, which keeps the audience engaged and intrigued. Great activity with friends or coworkers...over half the group got to participate in the act which was so fun! Highly recommend it. read more

David Gerard - Hanging with the magician after the show! - Magicians Near Me

David performed at our company's holiday dinner and he was truly sensational. Everyone enjoyed his performance during the cocktail hour and after dinner. David was funny, interactive, professional with amazing magic and tricks. He was very flexible and easy to work with from beginning to end. We highly recommend him for corporate events big or small as he will surely wow your crowd. Thank you David for an incredible performance! read more

Words cannot express how much fun and mind blowing his shows are. I've taken my daughter 3 times now and a huge group of friends to his most recent show. Everyone was in awe and full of smiles the entire time. It's just so neat to have someone completely blow your mind and to walk out without a the slightest idea of how he pulled of any and all of his tricks and mind reading. He is also very charming and brings an element of comedy to his show as well. Highly recommend! read more

David Gerard is an incredible performer, 1st rate, a must see. I've seem him at the Victorian theatre and most recently for 'Choices' at the Piano Fight. His magic is unique and breathtaking, you'll be blown away by the entire show and his endings are off-the-charts as he pulls together various items from the show. I've seen him twice and watched him very closely, still can't figure out how he does it! My wife also hired him for their company party, he was GREAT. I'll look forward to the next time we see him. read more

I had the chance to hire David for a Google event I was planning, and at first I was hesitant but after speaking with him and giving him the overview of our event he seemed to be the perfect fit especially him being a previous Googler. As our event kicked off early morning he blew the crowd away with his humor and getting most attendees invoked, which was great that he was able to break that ice barrier, between the attendees in the crowd. I would extremely recommend him for any private or corporate function to go above and beyond anyone's expectation. read more

Went to see David last night at the Mountain View Center for Performing Arts. My expectations: Very Very Low - a magician in Mountain View? What time? My experience: AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His show was just as good as any magician that you would see in Las Vegas. My husband and I brainstormed the entire night and morning trying to figure out how he doing his tricks. YOU WILL NOT REGRET GOING TO SEE HIM. I think it's perfect for both kids + adults. David is an engaging performer and you should make the time/effort to see this guy before he makes it big. read more

Bottom line: David is a fantastic magician and is extremely professional. I was fortunate enough to have David come to my place for my birthday. I had a bunch of people at my place so David recommended that he roam around the room to perform some close up magic. At each group, I heard the sounds of disbelief and excitement. He astounded everyone with his card tricks, rope tricks, and mind reading. At one point, he even made one of my friends become so overwhelmed with shock and amazement that she had to step out of the room. David not only had spectacular magic tricks, but also he was witty, funny and told great stories. At no point was he ever pushy, rude or became frustrated (even though some of my friends admittedly were slightly intoxicated). He maintained a professional demeanor at all times. If you are ever in need of a magician, or just want to have a blast, go see/hire David Gerard. You will be in for a fantastic and memorable time. read more

Forget comedy night, why not have magic AND comedy! We saw David at PianoFight and 70 minutes went fast as he had everyone on the edge of their seat with his impressive magic tricks and mind reading mysteries. He was very interactive and quick witted, I've not seen better and friendlier audience participation. Def recommend it for any Wednesday hump day pick-me-up! read more

I've seen David perform a few times and I really enjoy his shows. You're highly entertained throughout and left wondering how the heck he does it! It truly does seem like he has ESP or something... I often take friends and recommend his show to others. It's a fun show whether you're on a date, with friends, your parents, or guests in from out of town -- it's a blast for all involved. read more

David is not only a great Magician, he is a world class comedian as well. Talk about getting two for the price of one. He is wonderful on stage and entertains the crowd from the start to end. He kept me laughing and amazed with his tricks and jokes. It is a shame he is from the West Coast since I'd definitely have him at my Wedding. He is absolutely one of the best performers I have ever seen, heck it was so good I would have went back a second time if I didn't have to fly out the next day. read more

This show was incredible! David is hilarious, quick witted, knows how to work a crowd, and is literally reading minds! His pure talent is absolutely amazing to watch. He impressed us with his ability to perform on the fly, by randomly choosing people from the audience to participate in his mind reading "tricks"; predicting what people will think, choose, and even draw! I have seen him a couple of years ago, and just last weekend again. He continues to amaze! Always coming up with new stuff, that continues to blow my mind! read more

David Gerard is amazing! I booked David to perform for a private member event, and from start, to finish David was responsive, professional and easy to work with. David is funny, charismatic and a true showman easily engaging the audience, who at times shrieks out with disbelief! He is a combination magician, mentalist and comedian. The approximate 1.5-hour show ended with a standing ovation and a lot of curious minds...How did he do it? I highly recommend. read more

OMG, David Gerard was on fire on his first signs show a week or so ago. I took three people, all new to magic shows, and we basically spent the entire night alternating between cracking up and having our jaws fall to the floor. His mind reading (memory skills?): incredible. There were like 30 tricks he did that I could not figure out, just one after another. Fantastic. One of the most fun, charming, entertaining ways you could spend a night out in SF. read more

David is nothing short of AMAZING! I don't usually write reviews, but I felt I needed to share in this case. Not only does his magic take your breath away, he is also hysterically funny and entertaining. He captivated an audience that ranged in age from 11 to 80 and read the crowd perfectly. David is also a really nice and accommodating guy. I would give more than 5 stars if I could! read more

We attended David Gerard: An Evening of Magic, the AirBnB Experience thing - https://www.airbnb.com/experiences/51739. It was the best night out we've attended in a long time. The magic was really amazing, but more enjoyable by far was Gerard's stage presence, humor, and generosity. Such a fun evening! I recommend this over anything else going on to anyone without hesitation. Just go. You'll have fun. read more

An absolutely amazing show. Truly unbelievable. I especially appreciated his showmanship, humor, and spot-on timing with our company. I will absolutely find a way to see or hire him again. read more

This man is nothing sort of extraordinary; he stepped in to join us at an intimate birthday party we were celebrating in the hospital and he blew our minds!!! We were up close and personal and he still had the element of amazement and awe struck us beyond belief. This kind hearted, up beat, charming and funny young man has such an incredible gift he can entertain a close, intimate group as well as dazzle a large audience :) I'd definitely recommend to all my friends and family and can't wait to hire him for a large gathering! read more

** ReSurge International's Gala Emcee** We were so grateful to work with David on our ninth annual gala at the SF Four Seasons this past October '16. David emceed and brought so much energy and enthusiasm to our event. His professionalism, poise and respect for our mission was extraordinary. He was intrigued about our work and wanted to give us the best show possible, and he did. David was so easy to work with and was truly as classy as it comes. We are excited to have had him and we hope...he'll come back next year! read more

David is AMAZING!!! We had David perform at our team celebration at Google. He had the audience of 150 people completely blown away by his mind magic and laughing hysterically, it was the perfect mix! He used lots of audience participation and kept the crowd engaged the entire time. People were talking about it for days as it was truly something special. I would highly recommend David to perform at your next event, you will be so glad you did! read more

David is a true professional and really good at what he does. We had a corporate dinner with about 100 people and his show really made the evening memorable. He was very organized, punctual (even a bit early), and his magic / mentalist acts are one of a kind. Jaws were definitely dropped that night. David is very quick on his feet and that kind of presence makes any evening special. Thank you David for what was a very memorable evening! We would highly recommend David! read more

From reading the other Yelp reviews, It seems that everyone else is a fan, but I'm going to pile on. David is a Vegas-quality (which I intend as a compliment) magician/mentalist/entertainer who you can book for your local events. It's rare that you can get someone as good as you see on TV to perform in SF for your small group. Imagine a group of sophisticated, jaded teens. Overheard for real right before the show: "Oh jeez, a magician? What do they think, we're 5 years old?". And from the same kid 15 minutes later. "NO. WAY. This guy is a f--ing GOD". His close-up magic had people literally screaming during a cocktail reception, and his stage show had our audience's jaws on the floor. If I didn't know all the people in the room, I'd have sworn they were planted there by the performer. He was also incredibly warm and funny. A fantastic act, an endearing performer, and a great evening overall. Highest recommendation. You will not be disappointed. read more

Let me start off by saying Oh My Goodness..... What a fun show! Everyone in our company is still talking about the magic and laughter David brought to our event. David kept everyone engaged and entertained for over 40 minutes. Keep up the quick wit and fun attitude! David Gerard Take 2! I hired David for my fathers birthday party. Our family and friends can't stop talking about what an amazing time they had. I'd like to think it had to do with my party planning skills, but I think David is what made this the party of the year! Thanks for an amazing show from all 52 of us!! read more

David performed at our holiday party and our group was absolutely AMAZED by all of his tricks!! It was absolutely, mesmerizing! David has the best personality - he was entertaining and hilarious! Our group couldn't stop talking about him - even the next day! Thanks David!!! read more

David's quick wit and rich humor parallel his mind baffling illusions. Had the pleasure of first watching him at an intimate small backyard BBQ party where he left the guests baffled. He was so good I asked him to perform at my annual client appreciation event with over 170 guests. David did not disappoint, from the up close and personal magic during cocktail hour to the main show performing for the whole crowd, David was on point! The interactive nature of many of his illusions was a hit with my guest/clients. I look forward to booking David again! Fabulous talent that leaves you with a curious wonder... How did he do that?!!!!!! read more

I had David come perform at a wedding after party recently. The bride and groom are big magic fans and wanted something special to surprise them. David showed up on time and brought the thunder. He was amazing right from the start. When it came time to perform for the bridge and groom, he blew their fucking minds! Could not have asked for a better performance. He also is quite funny and able to adjust to his surroundings quite well. Highly reccommend for any situation. read more

I caught one of David's shows at Pianofight in the Tenderloin, and I was blown away by his skill, his wit, and his heartfelt connection with his audience. The level of skill and refinement that's gone in to his show is obvious and undeniable, and his heavy use of audience participation ends up being a lot of fun even for the people who don't appreciate him calling on them. I'm definitely not the type of person to shower excessive praise on performers, but I have no reservations whatsoever in saying the enjoyment I got from his show was easily worth twice the cost of a ticket. read more

Got a chance to see David at a friend's birthday party last week. "Oh great. A magician. Woo-hoo." I had to try really hard (ok, maybe not so much) to contain my enthusiasm. BUT. This guy is GOOD. Seriously good. Your mind, as ours were, will be blown. I am as skeptical as anyone when it comes to magic, but I consider myself a fan. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement; astounded isn't a stretch. Go see for yourself. You won't regret it. read more

My daughter (26) got us tickets for my son's birthday (23). She's seen David's show several times (always a different show) and raved about him. She's turned others onto him too, to rave reviews as well. David's goal is to not fade from your memory once the show is over and he succeeded with me and my son! He puts on a GREAT show! I highly recommend seeing him perform. It's contemporary, funny, and amazing. Definitely a "how the hell did he do that?!" kind of evening. Lots of fun. Thank you David! I look forward to seeing you again! read more

Amazing show!!! David is a funny, talented magicians. I definitely want to bring all my friends to see his show again.

His latest show "Signs" is mind blowing, and super funny at the same time. It's pretty rare to be able to combine great entertainment, mind reading and improvisation skills. All our venue had a blast at PianoFight, and we all jumped on stage! I don't think it gets any better than that in SF, for such a bargain cost. Looking forward to seeing his next show (I could actually even do a replay of this one)! Bravo maestro! read more

If you're even considering working with David...just dive in and do it! The entire experience from the seriously mind-blowing performance down to the logistical correspondence is just beyond top notch. David is pleasure...he pulled off a Vegas-worthy show for a few dozen venture capitalists...everyone of which is still spellbound from the mentalist-portion of their time with David. This was a tough crowd...David wielded each person in the room like they were literally part of his act...and in essence each one of them was. David Gerard is an absolute delight of a person, and when he's on stage...you will NOT be disappointed for even a moment. Dive in - he is magnificent!! read more

We went to David Gerard's show this week at PianoFight. I have always loved magic and watching magicians, and sometimes I can figure out what they've done to pull off a trick. But watching David, I have no idea how he did most of it, even though he gives hints to what he's doing along the way. He engages the audience and the whole room ends up part of the performance, whether by going directly up on stage or just from him interacting with so many people in the room throughout the show. This really is an excellent show and I highly recommend it if you want to have your mind blown. read more

I've seen David twice, and both times I was spellbound. How does he do it? I watched so closely (the second time in particular!), and I just don't get it. Despite being a card-carrying skeptical scientist, I had to conclude that he really must read minds! He's also funny, charming and truly just a pleasure to watch. He knows his audience and adapts accordingly, which makes every performance unique. I can't wait to see him again! read more
