Then I found Dr. Margie Amos. I left my appointment feeling like I could cry again, but this time they were tears of happiness. I finally had answers and was met with a doctor who was patient, attentive, and never rushed me. She wasn't bothered by my anxiety or my long list of questions. She was thorough, educational, and incredibly kind. I am so grateful I found her and that she took the time to truly get to the bottom of what was going on. She ordered tests that no one else had considered and looked at everything from multiple perspectives. She provided several options for next steps, clearly explained each one, and helped create a game plan we both feel confident about. I truly cannot say enough good things about this doctor.

I've wasted my lunch break on hold only to find out no progress was made on scheduling a simple blood test. It feels like patient records aren't being checked or respected. What a joke. Update #2: found Brookes email online, reached out and got a bounce back that she is no longer with CU OBGYN. So there's just some bot responding (and lying) to reviews on here. Seems pretty on par with everything I've experienced with this practice. I don't know where to begin, other than to say my experience at CU OB-GYN East Denver was deeply disappointing and, ultimately, traumatic. Despite leaving feedback in multiple places, I've never received a response, which is disheartening in itself. As a first-time mom with a healthy, low-risk pregnancy, I expected guidance, reassurance, and evidence-based care. Instead, beginning at 28 weeks, nearly every appointment was anxiety-inducing. Inductions were pushed repeatedly without medical necessity. At my 36-week appointment, after I declined Dr. Schneider's request to schedule a 39-week induction for no medical reason, she told us she would "challenge our birth plan." From that point on, the tone of my care shifted from supportive to adversarial. At 40 weeks, when I expressed a desire to wait until 41+3 for an induction if both baby and I remained healthy, I was told by Dr. Jacobsen: "Fine, you can stay pregnant until you're 44 weeks if you want, but your baby probably won't live." That comment continues to haunt me. At 40+6, I was experiencing many Braxton Hicks contractions and, because of them, couldn't feel my baby move as much. With Dr. Jacobsen's words echoing in my head, I was terrified. Even though I had labs, ultrasound, and a non-stress test scheduled for the next day, my husband and I went to the hospital for reassurance. From the moment I walked in, I was told--before a single test--that there was a "99% chance" I'd be staying due to gestational age. My wishes didn't matter. I started crying, and predictably my blood pressure spiked. I asked them to keep monitoring, knowing it would normalize. Labs were drawn, and while my blood pressure quickly returned to normal, they claimed my creatinine was high and diagnosed preeclampsia. When I asked if I could go home and return the next day, they told my husband I could "have a stroke and die at any minute." My medical records later confirmed I did not meet the criteria for preeclampsia--or even gestational hypertension. Once admitted, they repeated blood and urine testing every two hours. Every single test came back normal. Yet they kept me and moved to induction That unnecessary induction led to Pitocin, fetal distress, and ultimately a C-section. During labor, we were told the cord was "likely wrapped around the baby's neck," explaining her heart rate issues and why she wasn't descending. Later, my records revealed this wasn't true: her heart rate instability was directly due to Pitocin. The chart notes specifically state Pitocin had to be paused for "fetal heart tones category II." As for why she wasn't descending, it wasn't the cord at all. She was delivered sunny-side-up (occiput posterior), a position that can often be identified and managed during labor. Yet no one noted this until after birth. This was a textbook cascade of interventions: induction increases the likelihood of further interventions like epidural, distress, and cesarean. Inductions nearly double the risk of cesarean in first-time moms without medical indication. At my 2- and 6-week postpartum visits, I begged for clarity. Instead, my concerns were dismissed. I was told "gestational hypertension" and "preeclampsia" are used interchangeably (they are not), told to seek mental health support, and urged into birth control, and told if I became pregnant again within a year, I'd be "forced" into another C-section. There was no compassion, no accountability, and no attempt to help me process what happened. 5 months postpartum I am still processing the trauma of being coerced into interventions I did not need. Every moment after that 40 week appt with Dr. Jacobsen I lived in terror, replaying "your baby probably won't live" in my head. To know now that my diagnosis was inaccurate makes it even worse. This practice scarred me. They robbed me of the birth experience I had dreamed of my entire life. My daughter is here and safe, and I am grateful for that--but it does not erase the unnecessary pain, fear, and trauma inflicted on me. I feel this practice failed to respect my wishes, ignored my informed perspective, and resorted to fear tactics instead of collaborative care. This review is not easy to write, but I hope it spares another woman from experiencing what I went through. I strongly encourage anyone seeking care here to ask hard questions, advocate fiercely for themselves, and consider other practices where respect, transparency, and patient-centered care are prioritized.

I highly recommend Dr. Sturm! I have suffered with endometriosis for the last few years, and over…read morethe last two years it has significantly progressed. It was ruining my quality of life, missing tons of work, stuck in bed for days in excruciating pain, missing out on a social life, trips to the ER. It was taking over my life! I was having some degree of pain everyday for months and months at a time. I've had to make trips to the ER on several occasions so they could help stop the pain, it literally felt like someone was constantly stabbing me in the abdomen. I was prescribed Vicodin, which was horrible for me, but sometimes was the only thing that would help numb the pain. I would have to take multiple doses before I had any relief., I felt like my life was over! The last ER trip in March, it took 4 doses of their strongest pain medication and finally a dose of anti inflammatory to numb the pain, and before that trip I was given morphine, which made me very sick. It was a nightmare, and after struggling with this for so long, and almost losing my job because I was missing so much work, I decided to schedule a hysterectomy. I was terrified. That felt like my only option and I was crushed. I am 40 years old, and thinking of all the side effects I could face was devastating. By miracle, my manager at work stumbled onto the Frankenhauser Treatment while she was searching for medical supplies for work. After doing some more research I found Denver Holistic Medicine. After receiving 3 injections over a 3 week span I was feeling better. Soon after I started feeling pain again, so I came in during a time when I was having a lot of pain and Dr. Sturm gave me the Frankenhauser injection. I was in horrible pain for about a day after the injection, but after that I was completely pain free! I couldn't believe it. The pain was gone! It lasted for a couple months, and now I am getting these injections when needed to be proactive. I am happy to say, as of now, I was able to cancel my surgery and avoid having my uterus removed! I couldn't be more pleased and hopeful. I highly recommend this treatment for endometriosis, which has no cure. It has given me my life back. I am able to do things I love, like hiking and working on my yard, etc. My belly was always puffed out from being so inflamed, but now I feel skinny again! I do have some pain during the time i'm menstruating, and that's when I usually get another injection if the pain feels like it could get really bad and it helps knock the pain out within 24 hours! This has been such a long and crazy journey, but I am so happy that I have a holistic option to manage this pain. I haven't needed opioids, or to visit the ER, or even my OBGYN that was going to do my hysterectomy, for months and I couldn't be happier. Thank you Dr. Sturm! I appreciate your professionalism and care. I highly recommend this practice!

Does a great job, relatively painless (literally&figuratively). Haley, her MA, did tell me I had a "super cute cervix" which was weird. I have a voicemail from a scheduler telling me that insurance may not cover it, but if not "it'll be $800 w/out insurance." Bill is $1,400. I asked for a reduction over multiple phone calls as I have the VM saying it'll be less but it was a nightmare/finally just paid it as it was overdue. Got pregnant, scans/appts, all good, Dr. Serrahn always makes sure to ask if I have any questions. Jul: Migraines start. Dr. Serrahn has said she doesn't want me to take my normal meds/asked me to call/set up a plan if they flared up. So I call &leave a message w/ Haley asking for Dr. Serrahn's preferred plan. I don't hear back so in a week I call &leave another message. After another week, I haven't heard back so I speak to a nurse in the office who says she will have Haley call me. Never received a call. I go to appt with Heather, PA, mention this &she says, "here's Dr. Takimoto's plan, I'll call in the meds for you." She never called them in. I call the office a week later &they tell me that she will call them in by the end of the day. They were never called in. Five requests in a month for the same meds, which were never called in, is unacceptable. Sep: Positive for COVID on Sat. Call the on call nurse just to make sure there's nothing I should/shouldn't be doing. Asks if I'm having cramps, I say yes. She says lie on my left side/hydrate (&"take whatever benadryl dosage is on the box, I can't remember the dosing") &if they don't resolve, go to Rose as they might be contractions/they can give me something to stop the contractions. They resolve but return next day so I call back. Different nurse, tells me to go to Rose so they can give me something to stop contractions. I go to Rose, they are contractions but the nurse there tells me that at this stage of pregnancy, they won't do anything to stop contractions. Now I've spent multiple thousands of dollars on an "emergency" visit per two diff on call nurses just to be told there was no need to come in. I ask if my vacation in 1 week is ok to take. "Yes, but you should check w/ Dr. Serrahn at your appt next week." I ask if that appt is still necessary. She says absolutely. I call the office &they tell me there's no reason to come in for my appt, they already canceled it. Yesterday I called about my appt tomorrow &talked to the same scheduler (Sarah? so many rude encounters) who always acts like my mere existence is an inconvenience to her. Me:"I have my 28 week appt on Wed &I haven't heard anything about my gestational diabetes test, I just wanted to check." Her:"Well, do you not have the drink at home?" Me:"No, how would I go about getting it?" Her:"Why didn't you get it at your 24 week appt?" Me:"That appt was canceled because I was at Rose a few days before with COVID." Her:"Ugh, I guess just fast for two hours before, drink it when you arrive, then you'll just have to stay &we can test you 1 hr after." Me:Repeat instructions. Her:"Yeah, just get here early tomorrow." Me:"Tomorrow or Wednesday?" Her:"Whatever. Whenever your appt is." Me:"Ok, is there anywhere I could grab the drink beforehand, like pharmacy?" Her(snarky tone):"Not unless you want to drive here &get it." They canceled my 24 week appt and should've mentioned getting drink. No reason for her to be rude. Many more instances but I'm out of room. The providers are fine but if you want any sort of response to your reasonable questions, communication, on call nurses that direct you in the appropriate direction, or even an iota of kindness from the scheduler, I'd recommend going elsewhere. I won't be coming back if we have another baby
