So after taking information from my peers, I went to the interwebs and started searching and searching. After a few searches I came across the website for Dr. Brandon and I was impressed with what I saw. They are a women focused center that focuses on compassionate care. I made my appointment very easily after confirming that they were indeed taking new patients and my insurance. After setting up appointment via phone, I received an email on setting up an account but I ignored this at first. I had to end up rescheduling and called to do and that was a breeze but after the fact, I realize that if I had set up my account online I could have did that online as well. Finally going to my appointment, I walked in and it was the most calm and serene doctor's office that I have ever been in. Quiet but good music. Very helpful receptionist. I went back quickly and the nurse took her time with me. She talked to me and listened to all of my concerns and addressed all my questions. After I spent a good amount of time with the nurse, Dr. Brandon came in and sat down and talked with me too. It was a nice meet and greet before you know getting down to the socks and in the stirrups. The actual visit was easy and no complaints. I would definitely recommend Dr. Brandon to anyone that asked. Since my visit, I have set up my account online and this feature is the greatest. I cam make appointments, view my results and even reach out with a question or ask for a refill on a prescription. I do understand these kinds of circumstances however, no one ever tried to call or reach out to me before I arrived at the appointment. I had an option to do my screening with the NP Leah Alfino and reschedule with Dr. Adams or reschedule my surgery consult and do the screening then. I opted to do the screening first. I made it clear to the front desk that it was only a screening appt. and I would reschedule for another appointment. I was billed for a moderate visit so it was not covered as a screening. When I called the office they told me I should have stopped any questioning of anything else and said, " I am only here for my screening!". This sounds very rude to me! I was baited into a question/ answer session to be able to say she talked to me about other issues! How would a patient know to stop the questioning to stop billing? They checked directly with the NP and she stood firm on her billing! I am an RN an I have never heard of such a thing! They would not adjust the code so I paid the bill, notified Medicare and I will NEVER EVER return!! Dr. Adams just lost not only a patient but a surgical patient, as well! They lost an enormous amount of money and credibility with me!

In fact, I have it happened with my recent one. I have never seen Dr. Panner at my regular check ups but he was the on call Doctor when I went into labor. I was a little upset, but once I met him before delivering, he was pretty awesome. Such a great man and to be honest, if I were to have babies again, I would want him to delivery my kids again. They are more than willing to answer your questions, and if they don't know the answer, they will make sure some one who knows will call you back as soon as possible. There were several times where I was told someone would call be back between 48-72 hours, and I received a call the same day. I personally went through Dr. Froelich for my tubal ligation. She is as cheerful as her staff and very intelligent. She explained all my options and helped me chose the best one for my health concerns. She made sure I understood both the procedure and the risks involved. She was very easy to communicate with and I felt like she listened and paid attention to my concerns. I would have given this practice 5 stars, but sadly I had and still have a frustrating issue with their Surgery Scheduler and Billing Staff. Three days before my surgery, the hospital called to tell me that I would have to pay a large amount for the procedure my insurance told me was 100% covered. I made several calls between the insurance, hospital, and office. I came to find out that the Surgery Scheduler had given the hospital the wrong procedure code for billing. When I did get to talk to the Scheduler, she blatantly lied to be, stating that my insurance did not participate in healthcare reform and said that was the only code they had. After repeatedly being reassured by my insurance that they did in deed participate in healthcare reform, they informed me that correct code was one number off. After giving this new information to the scheduler, she made absolutely no effort to fix her error. I ended up having to call the hospital give them the correct information. Even talking to the Pre-op staff and to Dr. Froelich herself before going into the OR, I was re-assured that the coding had been corrected. I discovered TODAY that the coding was NEVER changed. I now have a claim that I have to get fixed, and we all know what a nightmare billing issues are. So, Beware if you plan to get any sort of procedure done through this office! Make sure the Scheduler submits the correct coding, and call the hospital prior to make sure she has! Be prepared to do all the grunt work for her, because if you don't you'll be fighting an unnecessary bill like me!

Because of these qualities, she has saved my Moms life twice. Once we came in for an annual well check appt. Dr Vuong noted that something wasn't quite right and stated we were going to get to the bottom of it. By the time we left she was sending my Mom for an MRI. She later called with the results that my mom had experienced multiple mini strokes. Thank God she sent us to the ER immediately. The next summer during a well check, she was adamant about the importance of a mammogram making a referral and following up to ensure my Mom scheduled. A lump was found in my Moms breast. Stage 1 cancer. With surgery she was fine. Dr Vuong called when she saw the initial results in my chart just to check in. She's THAT doctor. She has all of the qualifications of a brilliant dr but she CARES about her patients. She is a wonderful human being. Thanks to my sister for getting my Mom connected with her. Dr Vuong treats all of her kids and my sister and I completely understand why. Dr V is the real deal. The best! Linda Hoang, FNP is also amazing and the two of them make a great team. They have a large waiting room and only once during my pregnancy did I have to wait longer than 10-20 minutes to be called back. They do have a strict late policy and the one time I was late, the receptionist was a bit sassy, so make sure you are on time! A couple times she wasn't in the office so I had to see other providers. The mid wives I saw were all fabulous! I also saw Dr. Dehoff who I did not care for. It seemed like he was 'mansplaining' and I felt extremely rushed and like my questions weren't welcome. He said "do you have any questions as he opened the door to leave". I would not see him again but everyone else was amazing and I received the best care!!! When in the hospital delivering my daughter, the Dr's and mid wives from this practice were all really nice and listened to me/my concerns. I have debated posting this because I fear harassment from the general public and retaliation from…read moreNovant, Providence OBGYN and Phillip DeHoff, who have already hurt me and my family so much. However, because medical board complaints are not public, and because it is rare for doctors to face tangible consequences from such complaints, I view it as my duty to share this and inform Charlotte area women. My silence may protect me from harassment and retaliation, but it also protects doctors who are already protected by the institutions they work for. This only results in more women being hurt. So I am sharing this despite very being so frightened of what may come of it. On November 29, 2023, while sitting on my couch at home I started hemorrhaging bleeding through my pants on to my couch, scaring myself, my husband, and my boys. I was bleeding so much, I wouldn't have been allowed on a plane. I went to the Novant ER thinking I'd be treated promptly. I had an IUD and learned that I was pregnant with a blighted ovum (no fetal heartbeat, no baby, just an empty gestational sac). The on-call OBGYN was DeHoff. The next 15 hours were the worst of my life. It's hard for me to recount the events because one of the symptoms of the PTSD caused by those events is to feel like you're reliving them, so I am enclosing pictures of the complaint I filed against DeHoff with the NC Medical Board. You can see them in the practice pictures. Since I've started sharing this story, I've learned that a woman who I know from my sons' former preschool also filed a complaint against DeHoff with Novant and Providence OBGYN in September 2023, two months before I encountered him. This woman also informed her OBGYN Dr. Nora Arronte of her concerns regarding DeHoff and subsequently filed a complaint against DeHoff with the NC Medical Board, which is currently pending (like my complaint). Thus, Novant and Providence OBGYN (and at least one of Providence OBGYN's other physicians, Dr. Arronte) appear to have prior knowledge of this doctor's track record of harming women. My understanding is that since I submitted my complaint, De Hoff is no longer doing OB work, and is only doing GYN work. I do not know if this is as a result of the complaint, whether De Hoff has lost his hospital admission privileges or if this is the natural career progression of an aging doctor with multiple malpractice complaints pending before his licensing board. I am frightened to share this but view it as my civic duty to inform this community of someone I consider a public danger to women who remains employed by a "reputable" practice despite their apparent knowledge of his actions.
