In 2019, I was in search of the best gyno in the Charlotte area and I finally found South Lake Women's Healthcare. This was my first ever gyno appt so I was extremely nervous but everyone in the office made me feel so comfortable. Dr. Mashburn really takes the time to listen to all of my concerns and answers all my crazy questions (even listens when I start rambling on about my life problems LOL). I visit the office every 3 months and it almost feels like I'm going to visit a friend rather than seeing my gyno! Typically as soon as I check in at the front desk, they will bring me back to an exam room right away (no wait!). On maybe a handful of occasions, I did have a wait but it was always less than 5 minutes. I am usually in and out of the office within 30 minutes, and within 45mins - 1hr on my annual visits. The one and only complaint I can make is that they are usually booked up 2 months in advance so I imagine it would be difficult to make an appointment for a new patient.

After confirming my pregnancy test I was excited to receive information and care for my first…read morepregnancy! My first prenatal appointment the Doctor showed up almost 40 minutes late to the appointment which I thought was quite unprofessional. Then after completing my labs I was scheduled for a phone call. I assumed it was to go over my labs and medical information. No, the phone call was someone at the front desk interrogating me about the cancelation of my next appointment. She told me to get on Medicaid if I cannot afford the cost of having a baby, she then assumed I did not think there were more costs involved with having a baby so she said "well you know there are other costs like having the baby and such" as if I am uneducated and ignorant. She had an attitude the entire conversation THEN proceeded to rudely ask me if the baby had a heart beat the last appointment which I thought was quite insensitive to ask especially since she isn't my Doctor and it would be really tough to respond if the baby didn't. I felt like she gaslighted me the entire conversation and I felt very belittled. I definitely don't want to receive care from an office that treats me or other patients like that.
