I've been going to this doctor for more than a decade now, and I've never had any problems. In the…read morebeginning, he took the time to get to know me and provide proper diagnosis. We tried a couple of different medications until we found what worked for me. Now I meet with him every 2 to 3 months to make sure everything is going well. The man is doing his job. No, he does not provide 45 minute therapy sessions, but he does have several psychologists on staff if that is what you need. That is not his job though. The complaints on here are really ridiculous. Yes, you have to pay your copayment. Shocking! Yes, you have to call if you were going to cancel an appointment! Shocking! If you are going to a psychiatrist for anger issues, picking a fight with the office staff is probably not the best idea. That was the funniest and sounds more like a sitcom episode plot than a real experience. He has an awesome car and takes very interesting international trips if you take the time to talk to him. The only thing I do not understand is how he gets away with still only doing telephone appointments in the year 2023. He has a beautiful office in Winchester. I wish he would use it. Otherwise, I would've given five stars.

I have felt over the past 10 years that our client-doctor relationship has only matured and grown. He is consistent, thoughtful, and always goes out of his way to reassure me that not only is he there to help me but he is there as a problem solver. In his line of work providers are often pressed for time. Dr. Marcus never makes me feel as though I am a burden and always goes out of his way to spend the time that we need to effectively facilitate our session. Cannot recommend him more highly! Thank you Dr. Marcus for your service. You are greatly appreciated!

I'm honestly not someone who usually writes reviews, but my experience with Marisa has been so…read moreimpactful that I felt like I had to share. I drive over an hour each way to see her and it's been so worth it. I originally went to see Marisa for extreme anxiety and ongoing sleep issues, after trying what felt like every modality out there: somatic exercises, journaling, therapy, BIT, meditation, breath-work...you name it. While many of those helped in their own ways, nothing truly moved the needle for me the way hypnoacupuncture with Marisa has. From my very first session, there was an obvious shift. Even the people around me noticed. After that first session, the tension in my shoulders decreased, and the only way I can describe it is that everything (physically & mentally) felt like it had been taken down a notch. Since working with her, my sleep has completely transformed. I went from having an extremely hard time falling asleep and waking up almost every hour, to now pretty much sleeping through the night. If I do wake up, I can fall back asleep easily, and I'm even dreaming a lot which I take as a sign I'm finally getting deep, restful sleep. I've seen such drastic improvements that I genuinely feel like I have a new baseline. I feel so much more in control of my anxiety now and honestly like a completely different person than I was just a few months ago. It's been truly life changing. I honestly wish I could see her weekly. The closest way I can describe how you feel leaving a session is like you just had a massage; you're so relaxed, grounded, and at ease. Marisa has truly touched my life. She is genuinely an angel. She listens, she cares deeply, and she is incredibly dedicated to her clients. If she doesn't have an answer right away, she always follows up, whether by email or the next time you see her, which says so much about the level of thought and attention she gives. I don't feel comfortable around many people, but there's something about her energy that is so light and reassuring. She creates such a safe, welcoming environment, and it makes all the difference. I'm so grateful to have found her and truly can't recommend her enough.

Also prescribed me a medicine that is rarely used anymore like apparently super outdated but it's my fault too i guess bc I blindly trusted who everyone told me was going to finally help me get a grip on my bipolar 1. Now, I have tics for the rest of my life, even though I have been off of that medicine for years was only on it for max 2 months end of 2023 but the tics are still very much part of my everyday living. I have to wear a mouth guard every night before sleeping otherwise the movements continue even during my sleep and I wake up with cuts on my tongue so deep it's actually painfully debilitating. Btw, i was not born with uncontrollable constant physical movements that affect how I function and present myself that appear in every single part of my body too btw like hands necks arms mouth feet etc. i am always fighting the urges of my subconscious tics every second of my life since end of 2023. It still sucks to think about bc this is gonna be for the rest of my life. Oh also the doctor constantly broke my privacy / trust /hipa violations with no consequences... made my relationship with my Muslim immigrant parents so awful because she simply didn't care about ruining my life or understanding that everything in America after 18 years old that's fun is also a literal sin that's gonna send me to hell and have them disown me but she never cared about ratting me out and the way it affected me whilst living with my parents as long as she kept getting her checks and I became a barely walking zombie in the process.

This is one of the best places to access treatment for bipolar disorder in Massachusetts, possibly…read moreon the west coast, and there are three reasons for this: 1) The clinic is a research clinic, using the latest in evidence based treatments to test scientific hypotheses about the kind of treatment that WORKS. This means that when you come for treatment here, you know that there is some scientific bases to what your therapist or psychiatrist is doing. 2) Because the clinic is a research clinic, treatment is often FREE to those who are willing to take part in a research trial that is testing treatments - these can either be already standardised treatments that are being applied in a new way, or new treatments developed from already established ones. You will not find any quackery here. 3) The people who work in this clinic are the best in their field. They have received the best training and are experts in bipolar disorder and all its associated problems. This is no run-of-the-mill clinic that treats anything, it SPECIALISES in bipolar and does a good job doing it. The atmosphere is friendly, peaceful, and safe. I recommend it to anyone looking for treatment options in the Boston area.
