I do not know where to start with this review, because I only have great things to say about all of the staff! I originally started seeing Angela in 2016 for skincare services and let me tell you. This woman is a miracle worker and has improved my skin so much! It's been a month since I had my deviated septum/Rhinoplasty procedure done and could cry every time I look in the mirror....because he is THAT GOOD! AWFUL experience, Dr. Hecht messed up my nose and mocked me for my concerns. I was told I was mentally unstable and would never be happy with my nose just for asking Dr Hecht to do the bare minimum after he ruined my nose. Even when I was extremely understanding and politely brought up my concerns Dr Hecht just continued to try and cover up his mistakes by pretending he saw nothing wrong with his poor work and then bragging about how I should be honored he even took me on as a client because I'm such a "difficult" case. I was originally turned down by another plastic surgeon in Scottsdale because he does not fix deviated septum's and I wish I would have never told dr Hecht because he took that as an ego boost and used it against me numerous times. He is very unprofessional and frequently bad mouths other surgeons in the valley. I don't even know where to begin with how terrible my experience was. Dr Hecht was extremely rushed during my consultation and did not explain the process or do any digital imaging to show me what my nose would look like he just told me he could fix it and get it about 70% straighter and make it more feminine. I can't even explain to you how frustrated I was to learn that he had digital imaging to show what the results could look like the whole time but he just simply chose not to use it with me because as he said "the results would have been so minor it wouldn't even have been worth doing". If the results would have been so minor you couldn't even see a difference or if I was shown how awful my nose was going to look I would have never went through with it! The fact that he tried to cover it up with a lie like that is so unprofessional. Just to get in to see him a year after my surgery was difficult and it was clear that even though I had concerns and was an existing patient I was not a priority. After multiple visits and a lot of Dr Hecht and his team trying to talk me down from a revision they finally offered to do it free of charge and made it sound like it was a rare honor that they were doing that for me, when in reality they knew they messed up my nose and had to fix their poor work. Then Dr Hecht uses the digital imaging that he magically forgot the first time to show me what my revision after results would look like. He intentionally made the changes so minute and told me it was very difficult to do what I wanted to detour me from the procedure. I could go on and on with how awful my experience was with Dr Hecht. Thankfully I went to Dr. Tamplen after and he told me he could easily give me my dream nose, then gave me a better nose than I could have ever imagined. I had the most fantastic experience at Dr. Hecht's office. For starters the entire staff is so sweet, kind, uplifting, and all around amazing!! They make you feel not only welcome but comfortable and you can tell the energy in the office is fantastic. Feels like you're a part of their family. I got an upper bleph procedure done by Dr. Hecht and it was so quick and easy and the whole procedure was a breeze. I would HIGHLY recommend this procedure with Dr. Hecht if you're interested in it. I was diagnosed with basal cell on the left side of my nose in October of 2021. I was referred to Dr. Hecht by my Mohs surgeon. I had all sorts of reservations because I have multiple sclerosis and needles and numbing and surgery are not my thing. I am so grateful that on the day of the Mohs surgery that my surgeon pushed me out the door to go see Dr. Hecht. They were warm and welcoming even amidst my kicking and screaming (not really:) but I am a challenging patient as I have a chronic illness. He was patient and confident and kind. All the things you want in a Dr. I was told I needed a skin graft as the cancer was on my nostril. He was willing to work on me without anesthesia, as anesthesia had triggered my first multiple sclerosis attack I wasn't interested in going there again. Being awake during reconstruction was surreal as I was on his table for close to two hours with over 40 stitches in my face. I was able though to feel his meticulous work, his close attention to detail as it was my nose in the middle of my face and I happen to have a nice nose:) After the surgery I went home to begin my recovery. And again the MS makes things more challenging. The girls in the office were amazing. They were kind. Caring. Available all the time to answer my questions. They invited me back up to the office several times in between appointments to see the Dr. just to assuage my fears and concerns. It's been five months. Longest recovery ever. However. I am back up. Dr. Hecht did an amazing job on my cosmetic rhinoplasty! I was always self conscious of my profile in photographs because of a slight hump that made my nose look a little downturned and flat. He recommended a small tip graft as well. I had my surgery on a Tuesday and I was back at work the following Monday. I had zero bruising-just slightly yellow under one eye. The first couple days are pretty rough because you can't breathe through your nose, but other than that it's tolerable, more fatigue than anything. I also scar very easily and was expecting my scar to not heal very well, but it's virtually undetectable. I am super happy with the results. He really could not have done a better job! I always knew two things.... it was very crooked and very hard to breathe out of one side. I am a country singer. For any of my fellow vocalists, your concerns may be the same as mine were. I feel so blessed to have been referred to Dr. Hecht by one of Scottsdale's top mohs surgeons. This was my second go around with skin cancer in the exact same place on my nose. I had a horrifying 1st experience with a different dermatologist that did my mohs and stated 1-2 stitches and no need for plastic surgeon, because he did the same closures. No! No!! No!!! I walked around for 2 years with my disfigured 17 stitch mohs surgery nose...I finally got up the courage and checked out 2 other plastic surgeons to repair the damage, but I did not feel confident that either one of them had the skill to restore my nose. I saw Dr. Hecht months ago after being referred by a friend. I made an appointment to discuss fillers and botox. I was given no instructions on what to do or not do before my appointment and left with extreme bruising that lasted for 10 days. When I mentioned it on my 2nd appointment I was told that the staff should have told me not to take ibuprofen days before and after my appointment. I was not happy with the botox. I felt I got the opposite of what I asked for. I was uncomfortable for weeks waiting on the dropped eyebrow to become normal again. I expressed very clearly that I wanted them raised and was concerned about them dropping if botox was used on my forehead. It still happened and I paid more then other places I looked into. The fillers caused a lot of pain and bruising. The results were not even and I went in again for a second treatment to one side. I developed a lump which was there for months. When I went in for my check up, the Dr told me it was a bruise and would go away. When it did not, I called and one of the staff told me it could be a lump of the filler and I should massage it. So I did that. I made another appointment to go in to see if it was a bruise or filler, I left that appointment confused because it seemed the Dr did not know. Maybe that happens, but it made me uncomfortable so I went to another Dr for another opinion. It is smaller now, and the filler results are ok now. The staff is very nice, and I am sure Dr. Hecht is an amazing plastic surgeon, I just had a bad experience. He also never seems to look you in the eye, which can be off putting since you are discussing such an important and potentially serious topic. I know that some of this could be my expectations and maybe my own lack of research before, I just wish there was clearer communication on their end before and after the procedures. read more

My wife had a basal cell carcinoma on a nostril. To get rid of the cancer, the dermatologist practically removed her nostril, leaving a hole the size of an almond. Dr. Hecht performed the follow-up plastic surgery, taking cartilage from her ear to shape the new nostril and skin from behind her ear to cover it. Other than that the transferred skin can get red quicker from sun exposure if she does not wear sufficient sunscreen, you would never know that something had happened to her nose. A year or so later, she had another basal cell, this time on her lip. Following a major excision by her dermatologist, what could have been a big scar became undetectable thanks to the work by Dr. Hecht. The only place for me. I was referred to Dr. Hecht and his esthetician, Tracy, by a good friend who was referred by another doctor. I am in my 30's, had never had a facial, always felt I took good care of my skin and just wanted a consultation and possible facial and some exfoliation/extraction. I called and spoke with Christie who was helpful and answered all my questions including what to expect, she is a former patient I found out which made me all the more comfortable. Tracy took me to her nicely lit exam/treatment room and asked good questions about what I was there for, what I expected and also had a light conversation about my lifestyle which turned out to be important to my skin condition, it felt comfortable. After she made suggestions about treatments which matched my skin goals. I chose a facial, dermaplane, microdermabrasion and she ended it with a light chem peel treatment. My skin has never looked or felt better, it was one of those "why didn't I do this a long time ago?" moments, hands down. This is amazing since I also suffer from light adult acne. Tracy also teaches esthetics (?) and is: 1. Professional but personable 2. Knowledgeable, seasoned, and explains things in a way someone can understand 3. Has such a nice touch, physically, on the face 4. Really loves what she does 5. Doesn't push products or services but makes suggestions and lets you decide. I didn't leave with new product or any sort of commitment, it was nice. Although I will be back for sure and may consider new products, maybe. I have also heard good things of Dr. Hecht but have yet to meet him so I cannot review him personally. What I can say is he has a good operation going, parking is good, it's easy to find just next to north Scottsdale Memorial. Remember to park in the south lot. There are two buildings, one north and one south, he is in the south lot. Also, I am not sure if there was a deal going but I felt I got a real value there for north Scottsdale pricing. What they don't tell you though is that your results will look 100 times better than that already amazing picture that they show you. I found Dr Hecht via an extensive internet search. I read reviews and checked out qualifications and certifications. I looked at before and after pictures of other patients. I was also fortunate to see another patient (post surgery) BEFORE I ever had a consultation with the doctor.....the patient was beaming she was so happy with the results of her surgery. I interviewed the doctor and was able to also get to know his wonderful staff through my repeated phone calls with many questions! His staff is incredible! Friendly and always smiling. They all believe in the doctor and his abilities and I was welcomed with friendly hello's every time I went in to the office. Thank you ladies!! Dr Hecht did a reconstruction/revision of a very bad surgery done by another doctor in another state. My surgery by Dr Hecht was over 4 hours long, yet after the surgery I needed NO pain killers and had very little bruising. When I went in for my "next day check" another patient who had also had his nose done the day before, had the SAME results! No pain killers and little if any bruising!! Needless to say, my results from Dr Hechts surgery are exactly what I was hoping for all these years. My nose is now beautiful and fits my face....oh I and I can breathe again! This review is way past due. Dr. Hecht performed my rhinoplasty in 2015, I still love my "new" nose so much I still smile when I catch a glimpse walking past a mirror. I am SO glad that I chose Dr. Hecht to perform the procedure. I had a good sized hump on the bridge and I felt like it just dominated my face. The rhinoplasty really was life changing, my only regret was not having the procedure sooner to get even more years out of an improved nose. I waited 50, yes 50 years, to have a previous rhinoplasty revised. Dr. Hecht was recommended to me and I was impressed with everything written about him. From beginning to end, his entire office staff was A-one! The computer generated image of my new nose was what I had hoped for 50 years ago. I wish I could say it turned out that way. It has only been 8 weeks, but I don't believe it's going to change that much. I'm in love with a majority of the result, except for the fact that one side isn't as thinly contoured as the other. I have a nose with one side that's beautifully thin and one that still has too much cartilage left. Every time I look in the mirror, that mistake glares back at me! The tip is also not completely straight. Dr. Hecht could definitely be more personable and have better eye contact with his patients, but I just wanted a good doctor. My 15-year-old daughter was increasingly unhappy with the shape and size of her nose. She finally decided she wanted a rhinoplasty. We both looked at surgeons in the Scottsdale area - asked friends, etc., and chose Dr. Hecht. My daughter liked the before and after pictures because each person had a natural looking result. I liked that he was double-board certified, in head/heck AND plastic surgery, and that he had a completely clean record with Az Board of Medical Examiners. His staff was wonderful - they worked to get my daughter scheduled for surgery over winter break and were flexible when we thought we'd miss an appt. due to a death in my family. Some patients feel that Dr. hecht is difficult to talk to. We found him to be a little reserved - not a small talk person. But he was professional and straightforward about the procedures, risks, etc and showed what her results would be. He answered all of our questions. The staff was wonderful in working with payment issue s(we were self pay) and answered every question we had. They also did NOT push other services. Didn't even mention them, actually. Dr. hecht called to check on her later in the evening, and when the plastic covering the splint fell of, he returned my call very quickly. Bottom line: Her results were exactly what we expected and what my daughter wanted. She is noticeably more self-confident. As far as the actual surgery - she was in pain the day after, but nothing bad after that. there was almost no bruising at all - just a tiny yellowish bruise under one eye . Dr. Hecht did a wonderful job with my otoplasty! I had always wanted to get my prominent ears pushed back, and I saw that he had such great reviews so I went to him first. I luckily got squeezed into his schedule and ended up being able to have the appointment on a Friday and a surgery that next Tuesday! I had a skin tag on my lower eye lid almost touching my eye. For a few years I was afraid to do anything about it because of how close it was to my eye. I saw Dr. Hecht and he assured me it was nothing to worry about. With a steady and gentle hand he removed it. This is the story of how Dr. Hecht ruined my nose for my lifetime... My breathing is still compromised after all these corrective attempts. Had surgery in june 2008. Immediately after splint was taken off there were 3 irregularities on my right side, one was VERY obvious was part of the ear graft he used and was sticking out (protruding out of the skin) two, was the entire graft you could see the outline (my skin is thin which I have discussed with current surgeons that he should not have done this) Three, irregularity was a dip just above my tip that was NOT there before surgery ( he built up my tip and didnt fill in the area in bet the graft and my tip. . 6 weeks later he TRIED to fix it IN HIS OFFICE because he didnt want to upset his reputation by taking me back to the hospital and put me under anethesia and he said that I would have to pay for it In his office, during this 2nd attempt his assistant (Veronica) had to hold me down due to the pain, I was sweating and shaking from the pain, he injected me with 12 shots in my nose VERY PAINFUL.After the tape came off the irregularities were still there!!. My nose looked worse because the swelling was coming down from the first surgery. 2 months later, a 3rd attempt was made to correct, he tried to "needle" the cartlidge,that was still sticking out, down. Didnt' work. 4th time he took me in to the hospital again (on my expense, asked him to meet me half way and wouldn't). he then took out only half the graft he put in from my ear in the first surgery which created a dent about as wide as a pencil, and created two new bumps that have never gone away. I will send anyone pics to see his hack job...... He then tried to calm down the bump by using steroid injections ( this was the 5 th attempt to correct) and thinned my skin so bad that I have a permanent dermal scar. Prioir to surgery, I asked him if he felt comfortable doing this procedure, and he said yes, Obviously a doctor having to try 5 times to correct it was not capable nor experienced to take on my nose. It was completely unethical for him to do what he did. What kind of doctor tries 5 times and makes it worse. he should have refered me to a doctor that could perform this surgery. Today every doctor that I have seen (3 top ones in LA , One in TX One in NH) says that he performed below the standard of care. He is direct and straightforward. I was in for a my consult and had a new nose within a month. I had hardly any pain or discomfort. Everything went so smoothly, I never knew getting a rhinoplasty could be so easy. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Some of them have even had rhinoplasty done by him and could tell me everything I needed to know. I had a emergency concern after the surgery that couldn't wait till morning, but I was able to get in contact him quickly after his office had closed. I am so grateful that I was referred to him. I didn't care for the office and staff and doctor at all and I wouldn't get surgery done by a dr. I didn't feel good about that's for sure.i look for friendliness and a doctor to be welcoming and not act like he doesn't want to be there.i will continue looking for a Dr.i feel good about. After suffering for 41 years from a fractured nose. My septum was deviated which affected my breathing. I suffered with allergies which made it even worse. I started to notice more changes. Long story short I finally was referred to Dr. Hecht after searching for 6 years. He diagnosed my issue, and made my breathing fabulous, and made my nose as straight as it can be, and aesthetically pleasing to boot!
