I have been extremely happy with the work done by Dr. Foxson and the service provided by his staff. The procedure starts with a consultation. After examining the x-rays and my teeth, he discussed a plan of action. Everything was clearly explained. I then talked with the office manager who discussed what the cost would be, what my insurance was likely to cover, and how much I would be responsible for. After agreeing to the costs, we scheduled appointments. Both extractions were from my lower jaw and I had them done under local anesthetic with nitrous oxide. The procedures went well with only minimal discomfort. The pain afterward minimal and gone after only a couple of days. The evening after the procedure, Dr. Foxson personally called me to see how I was doing. I appreciated that. Not many medical professionals provide that level of follow up. I also had the post implanted under local anesthetic with nitrous oxide. I experienced no pain and only minimal discomfort during the procedure (owing mainly to all the apparatus in my mouth). Afterward, I had absolutely no pain and just some gum tenderness which abated after a couple of days. Again, Dr. Foxson called me that evening to see how doing (just fine). All in all, I am very happy with the procedures carried out by Dr. Foxson and the caring and professionalism of his staff. I give Naperville Oral Surgery my highest recommendation. One thing to note: Naperville Oral Surgery requires payment of your expected out-of-pocket expenses at the time of your appointments. Not an unreasonable expectation, just something people should be aware of and prepared for.

The office manager quite literally insulted my intelligence and continued to try and site an estimate that was no longer valid it was over a year old. I would highly encourage you to find a better office for you and your family. They are not patient friendly people in this office and only care about money. Not friendly, rude, no customer service understanding at all. I would not send a dead person here.

While searching for someone in-network with my insurance, I came across Dr. Hur--and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I went in for my consultation, I felt completely comfortable. Dr. Hur took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly, and the best part was that he explained I didn't need jaw surgery at all--he could correct everything with implants. That alone was a huge relief. Dr. Hur and his entire staff walked me through every step of the process. On the day of surgery, they once again made sure I knew exactly what to expect and kept me at ease. After the procedure, Dr. Hur personally went out to the waiting room, sat down with my wife, and explained everything in detail. He never rushed and truly took his time, which meant a lot to us. The next day, he even reached out to check on how I was doing. His bedside manner is phenomenal. He gave me his personal cell phone number and told me not to hesitate to reach out with any questions. About a week later, the antibiotics started to get to me, which I expected. I sent him a text during normal business hours thinking I'd hear back later--but he called me almost immediately. That level of responsiveness is rare and honestly blew me away. I've been back a few times for follow-ups, and every visit has been the same--professional, friendly, and thorough. The entire staff is outstanding. If you need oral surgery or implants, do not hesitate to go see Dr. Hur and his team. He saved me from undergoing major jaw surgery, and I couldn't be more grateful.

Because of that positive experience, I brought my 9-year old son in today to have a tooth removed. My son has some special needs - he has severe ADHD, a learning disability and intense anxiety about pain. During our consultation with Dr. Scherer last month, I informed him of this and explained that my son has anxiety and fear (somewhat disproportionate to a normal level) when it comes to pain. I said, he will be VERY afraid and wI'll likely cry. I asked Dr. Scherer what he could do to help alleviate the fear. Answer: a child's dose of Valium the night before and morning of, and either laughing gas or IV sedation. I assumed those would be coupled with some understanding and a little empathy and maybe compassion for a terrified CHILD. OMG!!!! NOTHING could be farther from that. Dr. Scherer showed no empathy or compassion. Basically, he scared my son even more by saying "We can either do this now, here - or in the hospital." He demonstrated no care or understanding that my son was terrified. In fact, Dr. Scherer's demeanor was brusque, curt and slightly aggressive. He was unkind in that he used my son's fear against him instead of found or saying ANYTHING to try to allay his fear... even a little. My son was being brave and 'keeping it together' until we were told that I wasn't allowed to go into the room to hold his hand. Per Dr. Scherer, APPARENTLY, having a parent in the room makes the situation worse. Ok, maybe. I'll never know. But, I never expected the callous, brusque manner of Dr. Scherer today. I don't understand why this "hard-a$$" approach was necessary or appropriate for a scared, terrified kid with cognitive challenges. Shame on you, Dr. Scherer.

Unfortunately, I had a root canal that failed, so an inevitable molar extraction was staring me in the face. But wait, it took me a whole year to muster up the courage to even have the root canal - Insert crying woman. Things weren't looking too good for me. Another year goes by and I make several dentist appointments, only to cancel each one. I knew I couldn't go on like this and I needed to tend to my mouth. But possible pain, trumps logic for me every time. I was pondering how I'm going to overcome my fear and I said to myself - self, you need a professional tooth puller! After googling and realizing that title didn't exist, I discovered Oral Surgeon. (cue the music please) I was instantly and pleasantly overwhelmed with the possibilities of using a surgeon vs a dentist. After I researched several Oral Surgeons, I found Dr. Huvar, who happened to be in network and have an office location along my weekly route. All I can say is Dr. Huvar is sooooo gentle and sooooo skilled that he could probably perform extractions with his eyes closed, in his sleep, after a long days work, while facebooking, during spinning class and definitely while texting. It took him about 45 seconds to remove my molar. He came in and touched my gums, then told me to sit tight. He came back in the room and touched my mouth again and said - "all done!" Whatttttt!!!???? You can't be. I haven't felt any pain yet. He wasn't joking. I looked over at my tooth on the tray. Not only did I survive, but I felt absolutely nothing! After gazing at him in a teenaged, dreamy sort of way, Dr. Huvar provided a prescription pain medication - never filled it. I went on to eat that night and never encountered any pain. If I ever leave the state and need an extraction, I'll fly in, just so I can see Dr. Huvar.

I could have gone to this location which is nearer to where I live, but I did not want to wait or put things off any longer. I was not in a good mood when I arrived because I did NOT like "going to the dentist" due to bad childhood experiences. Dr. Huvar IMMEDIATELY sensed that I was not in the best of moods and calmly, patiently, reassuringly helped me to feel much better. He has demonstrated this same professionalism at each of my appointments. There was ONE appointment that needed to be rescheduled for later the same day, but it did not affect anything for me. On the morning of one of my appointments, I was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. I immediately notified the office. They gave me a later time for THE SAME DAY. Things worked out fine! Dr. Huvar is a 100% attentive, calming, caring, pleasant, professional, sensitive, thorough, and understanding Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. I had him do seven dental implants in 2017. He did a superb job explaining the entire process and patiently answering all of my nervous questions. The office staff were attentive and shared the same attributes as Dr. Huvar. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM AND HIS OFFICE STAFF!!!
