TL;DR: I regret hiring this law office for my divorce case. There were repeated issues: a missed court appearance due to a scheduling problem, delayed or incorrect paperwork, lack of communication, and missteps like using the wrong numbers for alimony calculations. I often had to follow up myself and even personally negotiate small matters to avoid delays. Instead of reducing my stress during this difficult process, working with this firm became a major source of frustration. I deeply regret hiring this law office for my case. I considered changing lawyers multiple times but ultimately decided to see it through, as starting over would have been too overwhelming. I initially consulted them for a divorce against someone with NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder), and during the consultation, they confidently assured me they could handle the case, which gave me the confidence to hire them. At first, my case progressed through interactions with a paralegal. Later, there appeared to be a scheduling issue that resulted in a missed court appearance. As a result, she was removed from my case. The excuse was either a scheduling mistake on her part or an error on the court's end. Considering that both the judge and the opposing party had been present, blaming the court seemed implausible. However, I decided to give them another chance, hoping they would become more reliable after this incident. Unfortunately, things only got worse. In one document, my name was misspelled as "Junk"--an error I found both unacceptable and disrespectful. Additionally, they delayed forwarding documents received from the opposing side for two weeks, and when they finally sent them, it came with no explanation or legal advice. The email simply asked, "Do you approve this?"--leaving me wondering what they had been doing during those two weeks. Frustrated, I summarized all the issues so far and lodged a formal complaint. This led to another change in the team handling my case, with the lead attorney, Mr. Davi, now directly involved. However, communication remained a significant problem. My inquiries to the new paralegal were ignored, and even after calling repeatedly over 2-3 days, I never received a callback. Later, there was a disagreement with the opposing party over alimony calculations. The opposing side had been using the calculation method originally suggested by the judge, while Mr. Davi used numbers that differed from those specified in the W2. This led to a full day in court. Unsurprisingly, the court ruled in favor of the opposing side's numbers, as they had followed the judge's prior guidance. This not only wasted time and money but also left me feeling uncertain about the quality of representation I was receiving. I also got the impression that Mr. Davi avoided directly negotiating with the opposing attorney, as every minor issue seemed to escalate to court. To avoid further delays, I ended up personally negotiating small matters with the opposing party. For what was supposed to be my final court hearing, I was told to attend in person, taking time off work. I waited for over an hour before Mr. Davi arrived. He then informed me that the necessary documents weren't ready, and I had to leave without accomplishing anything. The paperwork he promised to file by that Friday also didn't arrive on time, and I had to call and follow up myself. Shockingly, when I finally spoke to the new paralegal, it was the first time we had ever spoken despite her being assigned to my case. When the final paperwork was finally submitted and the case concluded, I received an invoice and was told there would be one last bill for follow-up tasks. However, this "final bill" didn't arrive for two months. Despite repeatedly contacting their office, they kept mentioning the invoice but never sent it. It wasn't until I explicitly asked if it even existed and demanded to know the amount that I finally received it. Divorce is already a stressful process, and I had hoped my attorney would help alleviate some of that burden. We don't even know where to begin with how fantastic Rina I. was.. Imagine getting ready for the Holidays and just one evening going about your lives and suddenly - almost as if blindsided by a freight train - find yourself being the true victims of somebody you once trusted's scorn and revenge - and scrambling on what to properly do next. Without getting into details for personal as well as professional reasons, think something along the lines of "a crazy person on those Lifetime movies out to get you" (yes, those situations DO HAPPEN). Not knowing what to do or where to turn, we were online the next morning looking for great attorneys. Never having ANY dealings with the law in our lives aside a few traffic violations, we had no recommendations; and were only able to read reviews on a few sites that came up via a search engine - we were led to DAVI LAW and were recommended "Rina". Within a half hour of our initial phone call, Rina returned our call and spoke with us for upwards of 20 minutes, not even yet being our official attorney. Being nervous wrecks, Rina helped give us some calm just with that initial phone call, and within 48 hours we were able to meet with her in office. She couldn't have been more friendly, down to earth, honest, and straightforward. Throughout our tenure, Rina communicated with us many times - emails, phone calls, even a visit to our house once. We must stress she did not charge for phone calls or emails like some lawyers do, and we felt her pricing was very fair. Each time we spoke with her, we felt a bit calmer and more reassured. As time went on, Rina and ourselves also worked with a colleague of hers named Chuck Rohde who was also equally as kind and professional as well as thorough with communication aspects. We will also leave him the best review possible. Long story short, our holidays of 2016 from Halloween thru New Years were all but ruined aside the kindness and professionalism of Rina. The second week into January 2017, we learned our case had ended as the "plaintiffs" saw they could go no further having had '0' go their way for their side. We are certain Rina (as well as Chuck) had a lot to do with the success of the case. She is professional, friendly, kind, and her prices were fair. Without doubt we would recommend you check out Rina for any kind of legal defense needs - or - should you find yourself in a situation similar to ours and know not what to do. We will also hands down recommend her to others if we are ever asked and will leave positive reviews wherever applicable. Please do your research. I wish I had researched this firm and attorney better. Online he looks like a reputable person with several offices and success. In reality he buys a mailing address but there is no office or staff there. I tried to rate him on AVVO however AVVO denies negative reviews and if they are borderline they send them to the attorney to approve and he denies his former clients. Dion has no staff, in the past 5 years every attorney has left his firm because of the person he is and they dont want to.be associated. His support staff turned over 3 times just during my case and they.all complained about him when I called for updates as my case lingered out for months. Dion told me not to attend the court dates and said he would take care of everything after just delaying my case over and over but constantly billing, Instarted taking time off work to attend. It was clear why he didnt want me there. He is rude and cant get along with any other attorneys. The judge couldnt stand him and was clear about his methods not acceptable and he should take lessons on professionalism from his dad. After doing nothing on my case for a year and billing over $17,000 I fired him when he started threatening me he would drop my case. I hired another firm and my case was settled in 2 months. My exes attorney said it was my former attorney that refused to work with anyone and thought he was so great. We were also informed his personel life is just awful and he isnt even allowed near the schools due to his domestic abuse issues. Dont get fooled by good marketing like I did.
