By far one of the WORST experiences I have ever had with an attorney. If were to go with an attorney at this establishment. I would ask for attorney Shahina Khan. Amazing work, cares and if I had her from the beginning I 1,000% believe my case would have been minimized to nothing. But sadly we met at the end. You get what you pay for with some people, so be aware. You do not want a lawyer who has an attitude, is supposed to be with you not against you and go above and beyond. Someone who will answer questions respectfully. I had all the exact opposite and have never been disrespected like that and would only recommend Attorney Khan. I can only speak for her and what an attorney is supposed to be like and stand for. When it comes to life altering things from someone who has never gotten into trouble until this incident. You want the best of the best not someone who looks miserable to work every time, so mutual respect should be there from day one. I would not hesitate to use the Driver Defense Team again! I received a no left turn ticket at a super confusing 6 way intersection. I spoke with Ricardo over the phone who provided great customer service and wrote down all of my case information in the company notes. I told him I wasn't sure if I wanted to hire a lawyer yet. Ricardo was very understanding and told me I could give him a call as early as a day or two before the court date to hire them. Two months later, my court day was only a few days away and with a newborn on my hands, I realized I wouldn't be able to make it. I called DDT and spoke with Ricardo again who remembered speaking with me and the details of my case. He quickly got the paperwork set up and had me sign the affidavit so the lawyer can appear on my behalf. I was amazed how accommodating DDT was despite requesting their services only a few days prior to my court date. I also requested to speak with the lawyer handling my case before my court date. My wife received a moving violation as well as a ticket for having an expired license plate sticker even though I reminded her several times that it needed to be updated. As parents of a soon-to-be 9 month old who seem to be shelling out money at an alarming rate for a mortgage, bills and daycare fees, you can imagine that having a couple unbudgeted tickets was going to through a wrench in our spending. Not only did the DDT team succeed in getting the moving violation dismissed but they were also able to remove the fine for the license plate sticker since we showed proof of purchase after our ticket. I'm not sure how they did that but I can tell you that we were obviously pleasantly surprised. Like he said But I never received a phone call after the hearing. I had to call their office to find out that I had to pay the court fees of $219.00. Derek Martin is a man of his word. He was able to get a 402 hearing on my case which was able to influence the judge to give me an outcome that the prosecutor was unwilling to give me. He only charged me for one appearance because the prosecutor didn't show up at the first appearance that Mr. Martin was present for. He was also able to clean up the mess I made trying to do it myself for the last year and got all the improper convictions vacated. As an experienced criminal that changes lawyers like socks, I intend to use Mr. Martin should I ever need him again. I don't have any more cases, and hope to keep it that way, but he is the man I will call. Pricing is fair, his office staff is great. They answer calls and the attorneys will get to you promptly. They did a great job for my nephew's traffic ticket. He was speeding 78 in a 35 mile residential area warranting a ticket - class A misdemeanor. Not usually one to write reviews on Yelp, but THIS one I simply must! Though originally from Chicago, I now live in the more comfortable climate of Southern California. A couple months ago, while "back home" and visiting relatives, was driving a rental car. Was a brand new, bright yellow, Camaro RS. WAAAY too much fun to drive (and I'm a "senior citizen" in age--but not is spirit!) it a bit "quickly" call it, sometimes? So, I was. And managed to get a speeding ticket--though thankfully, not a "major" one, as I was under the "25 miles over" the speed limit cap. Just barely! Well, when I returned home, dutifully, as a usually law abiding citizen, wrote a check and sent it in. A month later, I get a notification from Cook County court--"Failure to Appear" and not paying my fine. Just Great! Obviously, for ONCE, something DID get "lost in the system". So, I read YELP reviews, discovered this organization--and they turned out to be OUTSTANDING...from beginning to end! Listened patiently. Explained as above, they told me I needed to fill out a form granting them representation rights at court--which I gladly did, so I would not have to travel back for the appearance. I told them I even had a carbon copy of my "intent to pay" from my check book, which I sent them and they said it would add positive spin to the situation. They said they would try from a recuced fine and court fee's--and perhaps even an outright dismissal of the ticket itself. Eric, the lawyer who represented me, was true to his word and then some!
