Pizza Quest -- Episode 3: Built with Love…read more The campaign continues. Next stop: Piezon's Pizzeria a neighborhood stronghold with a robust menu that offers plenty of choices without feeling overwhelming. For this session, I picked up: One slice of the Oh Mio Dio One slice of the Mahalo with jalapeños The standout of the encounter was the Oh Mio Dio. The combination of fiery chicken and cream cheese landed exactly where I like my pizza builds to be--bringing the perfect balance of heat and coolness in every bite. The Mahalo took a different path. Built with Canadian bacon, pineapple, and cream cheese, it already offers a unique take on a Hawaiian-style pizza. Adding jalapeños gave it just enough kick to complement the sweet and savory flavors without overwhelming them. I can see why it's my wife's favorite. The menu itself deserves credit. There's a lot to choose from, but it never feels complicated. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or a first-time visitor, finding your next slice feels straightforward. What stuck with me most, though, was the atmosphere. The walls are filled with stories and adventures drawn by kids, while pizza trays signed by Husker fans cover the space with messages and memories. Everywhere you look, there's evidence that people care about this place and that this place cares about its community. Heart 18 (+4) From children's drawings to signed pizza trays, the entire restaurant feels built on memories, traditions, and community. Wisdom 16 (+3) A menu with plenty of variety that remains easy to navigate and approachable for any adventuring party. Dexterity 17 (+3) The Oh Mio Dio balances heat and coolness with precision, while the jalapeños on the Mahalo add just the right amount of extra movement to the build. Our waitress was fantastic, she was friendly and came to get our order and check on us quickly and without having to wait long for anything. The inside was cozy and relaxing, we sat in a booth near the back so it was more private and we had a lot of space. We got fries with ranch as a starter. I liked the touch of the sprinkle of salt and pepper on them. The ranch--so good!! Like Runza ranch. Our 13 year old got mozzarella sticks which he was a fan of. My husband and I got the Detroit classic pizza, and it was yummy! A little soggy on the bottom. The marinara on the top was so good. We just got water to drink but they had a menu full of good looking cocktails. They also have a menu of fall pizza flavors and happy hour is Monday-Friday 11-5.

It's a perfectly cooked thin crust. One piece was enough to fill me up. The inside of this place is really relaxing. Hopefully locals already know about this gem, but for those visiting don't miss it. Unfortunately there is a lot of street construction right now. Don't let it stop you from coming in.

The woman working was incredibly friendly and attentive, which immediately set a great tone. My husband and kids ordered pizza, and I went with a baked potato loaded with the same toppings as their Mediterranean slice. So good!! The pizzas were thin and crispy, exactly how I like them. They even cut the kids' slices into small pieces, which I thought was absolutely genius. Honestly, how is this the first time I've seen that? Our food came with freshly baked bread that was delicious. And really, who can say no to carbs on carbs? They also have a full beer selection, plus a pool table and foosball, which kept the kids entertained while we ate. Yia Yia's is probably my new favorite pizza place. We live in Omaha, but I would absolutely drive to Lincoln just for this pizza. Delicious food, great service, and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend!

Wasn't a open seat in the whole place by the time the match started. Our waitress(wish I got her name) did all she could trying to serve everyone she was accountable for. That being said, the kitchen got backed up pretty quickly with all the people there so good ended up taking around 70 minutes or so. I got the Mac burger and thought the burger was flavored well and juicy. Toppings were really fresh. I wasn't a big fan of the sauce on the burger which is their house sauce. Seems to be a place for regulars. Looks a little dated but clean- the chairs looked like they were from the 1980s- regular diner type chairs. You can play keno here. They also have arcade games and overhead TVs. Variety of seating- long tables, some tables for 6 and bar seating. Basically you sit yourself. And the waitress comes around with the menu. She asked about drinks immediately like a second after passing you the menu. Then brings the drinks promptly. And you wait for some time- she doesn't come back around till you wave her over. We both ordered a blue moon beer for drinks. Nice and cold and refreshing. Hubs ordered a cowboy burger with onion rings. I ordered fish and chips. Food took awhile to come. But when it came it was piping hot. I didn't take a pic of hubby's burger. I only took a picture of my fish and chips. It looked more like fish nuggets and chips. It came with coleslaw and you can request for the type of fries ie wedge, waffle, shoestring. My fish nuggets were delicious hot and flakes. Waffle fries were hot. And the coleslaw was delicious. Hubby thought his food was not bad. Fresh and hot. After the food came, our server checked on us a couple of times. His second beer took forever to come. We were about to just pay the bill and take off when it came. Overall, a decent experience. Still couldn't figure out why it was called an Irish bar though.
